In the apartnt, as soon as Qin Xi entered the door, she saw Ning Ze coming out of the kitchen holding a clay pot.
Ning Ze placed the clay pot on the table, looked at Qin Xi, and smiled, "Xi Xi, I’ve made soup for you. Sit down, I’ll get the bowls."
He went back into the kitchen.
Qin Xi walked to the dining table, opened the lid of the clay pot, and found a pot of black chicken, yam, and red date soup. The sweet aroma of the dates mixed with chicken soup wafted over, slling wonderful.
"Xi Xi, why are you standing? Quickly sit down." Ning Ze ca out of the kitchen holding bowls and a spoon.
He served two bowls of soup, one for Qin Xi and one for himself.
"Try it and see if it’s good."
Ning Ze looked at her intensely, his eyes full of anticipation.
Qin Xi looked at the bowl of soup beside her hand, and suddenly felt uneasy.
Making such a large pot of soup must have taken quite a bit of ti. Did he co here this afternoon?
"Xi Xi, why are you staring at ? Do you think I’m particularly handso? Falling more in love with ?" Ning Ze winked at her.
Qin Xi, "..."
He certainly has a good self-opinion.
She picked up the spoon, lowered her head, and took a sip of the soup.
The aroma of the chicken soup mixed with the dates and yam was very sweet, without a trace of gaminess or greasiness, even tasting better than the one made in restaurants.
She said blandly, "It’s alright."
"Just alright?" Ning Ze seed a bit disappointed. He had learned for a long ti to make this pot of soup and bought countless black chickens.
"Xi Xi, just drink a little for now. Next ti, I’ll definitely make a delicious soup for you." Ning Ze said earnestly.
Looking at his determined eyes, Qin Xi suddenly felt a bit guilty.
She put down the spoon and, after a mont of silence, said, "Ning Ze, you don’t need to do this."
Ning Ze smiled, "You’re my girlfriend, it’s only right for to be good to you."
Qin Xi closed her eyes, "I feel we’re not suitable for each other, we should still..."
"Xi Xi, since this pot of soup isn’t tasty, let’s not drink it." Ning Ze interrupted her, stood up, and carried the clay pot back to the kitchen.
Watching his back, there was a hint of reluctance in Qin Xi’s eyes.
Initially, she thought he was only playing around being with her, but as ti passed, she realized he was getting more committed. The more things get dragged on, the worse for both of them.
He is a very good guy, deserving of a better girl.
As for her, she is not his match.
She can’t bring herself to toy with soone’s feelings.
She picked up the spoon and took another sip of soup. After a while, it seed to have gotten a bit bitter.
Not long after, Ning Ze ca out of the kitchen.
"Xi Xi, you must be tired after the flight today. Get so rest early, I won’t bother you, I’ll co to see you tomorrow." Ning Ze said as he picked up the coat on the sofa and headed out.
"Ning Ze!" Qin Xi called to him.
"Xi Xi, I’m a bit tired today, don’t feel like talking. Can we chat another day?" Ning Ze said with a smile.
Seeing his smile that was worse than crying, Qin Xi couldn’t bring herself to say what she wanted to. She opened her mouth and replied, "Okay."
"Get so rest early, good night."
"Good night."
The door closed, Qin Xi’s gaze swept across the room, seeing the recipe book he bought still on the table, the blanket he bought on the floor, even the bowl in her hand was bought by him, not to ntion the half of the wardrobe full of his clothes.
In such a short ti, her surroundings were already filled with his things.
Breaking up is easy to think about, but saying it out loud is really hard.
After finishing the soup, Qin Xi tidied up the dining table and went back to her room.
After showering and returning, she checked her phone for ssages and saw Lu Zhaoming had sent her one.
"Xi Xi, I’m divorced."
