To be able to afford a Foundation Establishnt bodyguard, this female cultivator’s background was clearly substantial.

His gaze swept past them. Lü Zhong didn’t linger, as an attendant was already approaching to greet him. He followed her to a tea table, sipping tea while he waited for the company’s Steward to arrive.

As he waited, he glanced toward the entrance again. That female cultivator still hadn’t left; it looked like she was waiting for sothing.

"I am Wang Pingshi, the Steward of the Blood Cup Acquisition Company. Welco, friend. How may I help you?" The Steward approached, his gaze lingering on the bag in Lü Zhong’s hand for a mont before he cupped his hands in a fist and smiled.

"I want to sell these Storage Bags, and their contents," Lü Zhong said, tossing the bag from his hand onto the table.

He had accumulated quite a few Storage Bags back in the Lingyue Domain, and he’d also held on to so Spiritual Objects that were too difficult to sell—either because they bore identifying marks or had overly distinct features.

Now that he was in the Changchun Domain, it was the perfect opportunity to sell everything for Spirit Stones.

"Y-Yes, of course..." Steward Wang Pingshi stared at the sack of Storage Bags. Even though he had seen plenty of rare treasures and had once been a desperado on the East Sea Route, he still couldn’t help but be stunned for a mont at the sight of dozens of Storage Bags from various owners.

After inspecting the contents of the Storage Bags, he couldn’t help but give Lü Zhong another look.

’This man looks unassuming, but he must be a ruthless, black-hearted Evil Cultivator,’ he thought. ’How else could he have obtained so many Storage Bags?’

Noticing the Steward’s expression, the masked female cultivator at the entrance looked over.

Lü Zhong sensed her looking and t her gaze. She gave a slight bow and then, to his surprise, walked directly toward him, bringing an inexplicable chill with her.

"I am Yu Feng’er. Greetings, friend."

When Lü Zhong heard the na, he thought, ’What a coincidence. I can’t believe I ran into her.’

From what he knew, Yu Feng’er was the current Patriarch of the city’s Yu Family and the nominal Vice Chairman of the Chengde Comrce Association. She was the Dao Companion of the missing Zhang Hai, but she was not Zhang Miao’s birth mother. Zhang Miao was actually born to one of Zhang Hai’s concubines, and their distant relationship had escalated into a power struggle.

After a mont’s thought, Lü Zhong decided not to reveal his identity.

So he said coldly, "Cut to the chase. What do you want?"

At his words, her expression remained hidden behind her veil, but her voice grew firm. "I want to hire you to help eliminate a great enemy! With your profound cultivation, dealing with an Early-stage Foundation Establishnt Cultivator should be a simple task. What do you think?"

’So, a contract killing,’ he realized.

Lü Zhong had seen this kind of thing often enough, but this would be his first ti accepting such a job.

He couldn’t help but be intrigued.

"The price?"

Yu Feng’er grit her teeth and, right in front of the company’s Steward, stated her price. "Fifty thousand Spirit Stones! I can give you half upfront to show my sincerity. You can have the other half when you bring his head."

"That’s a generous offer. Why not hire one of the city’s assassins? They specialize in this line of work and would be perfect for a contract killing."

"Because no one will take the job! My enemy has already gained their support, but my own faction has no one as skilled as you in Concealing Breath and Traces and proficient in combat. That is why I’m making you this offer!" Yu Feng’er’s voice was tinged with anger, and she spoke through gritted teeth.

Lü Zhong could tell. She really wanted Zhang Miao dead.

It had to be Zhang Miao, he reasoned, because Lin Fangyun was already a Mid-stage Foundation Establishnt cultivator and didn’t fit the description of her target.

Lü Zhong glanced around, not giving an imdiate answer. He was silent for a mont, then, as if he had confird sothing, he stood up and said, "This is not the place to discuss this. Do you have sowhere more suitable?"

"Uncle Wang, may I borrow your second floor for a mont?" Yu Feng’er asked Wang Pingshi, her tone respectful.

"Yes, go on. Don’t be too anxious. If this doesn’t work out, there will be other opportunities in the future," Wang Pingshi said in the tone of an elder. His relationship with Yu Feng’er was clearly quite deep.

The second-floor Quiet Chamber, or to be more precise, it was a secret room.

One look told you the room offered excellent privacy, with no fear of prying ears.

After studying Yu Feng’er carefully and reconfirming his thoughts, Lü Zhong said calmly, "I’ll be direct. I can accept the job, but I want to change the terms of paynt."

"What kind of paynt?" At this, Yu Feng’er removed her silk veil, revealing an exquisitely beautiful face. She then unfastened the Dharma Robe that covered her body and hung it aside, her delicate, alluring figure now completely exposed to Lü Zhong.

Sensing his eyes on her body, she lightly touched a finger to her red lips, then let it slide down her fair skin with a slight tremor before she chuckled softly.

"Could it be that you want to spend the night with you?"

At these words, Lü Zhong remained expressionless. The male cultivator behind Yu Feng’er, however, turned pale. He couldn’t stop himself from taking a step forward, but the female cultivator beside him quickly held him back.

"If you wish to offer that as a bonus, I won’t refuse," Lü Zhong stated his terms. "However, what I want are three drops of your Ice Soul Essence Blood!" He had just used the Gray Mist Space to confirm that the woman before him possessed a special constitution—the exceedingly rare Ice Soul Spirit Body. That was why he had felt that strange chill from her.

The chill didn’t affect one’s physical body, but rather a cultivator’s Divine Soul.

Consuming Ice Soul Essence Blood had the effect of slightly freezing one’s Divine Sense.

Lü Zhong was demanding the Ice Soul Essence Blood so he could cultivate the Shocking God Needle Secret Skill. Since he couldn’t gather the ingredients for Nourishing Spirit Liquid any ti soon, his understanding of the Alchemy Dao told him that the Ice Soul Essence Blood would be a viable substitute. It would have a similar effect of lessening the pain.

If he could master the Shocking God Needle this way, a little trouble would be well worth the price.
