An S-level female was finally willing to co, so Si Xu, of course, imdiately booked an appointnt for his good friend.
He then went to inform him.
A look of resistance and resignation crossed Mo Chen’s face.
He had undergone soothing from S-level females a few tis before, but none of the experiences had been pleasant.
The much older females were fine; most of them treated him like a junior. But the ones who were only a few decades his senior wanted to make him their own.
He was deeply disturbed by their brazen gazes and inappropriate touching.
Unfortunately, those were the only S-level females on the Federation Main Star.
The elderly females lacked the stamina and had mostly stopped performing soothings.
As for the ones in their pri, they tried to get their hands on him every single ti. This ant that unless it was absolutely necessary, he avoided getting soothings altogether.
He didn’t want to go, even when his superiors offered to book the appointnts for him.
So now, he was deeply troubled.
He knew he was due for a soothing, but the mory of those awful experiences made him extrely reluctant.
Mo Chen didn’t even care who Si Xu had booked for him.
’After all, it’s always the sa few won.’
For the sake of staying on the battlefield, he steeled his face, his entire body tense, and walked to Soothing Room 6.
"Go ahead and find a comfortable position to lie down in on the sofa."
A sweet, clear voice sounded beside him.
Mo Chen, who had been staring straight ahead the entire ti, looked up in slight surprise.
The female before him wasn’t one of the long-established S-level soothing masters. Instead, it was a face that had appeared in his dreams many tis.
"Miss Jiang Qin??"
Jiang Qin chuckled. "Admiral Mo, we et again."
"Yes. I never thought the new S-level soothing master would be you."
Mo Chen’s expression was complicated.
Co to think of it, the first ti he’d seen Jiang Qin was during the attack on her villa. He had been piloting a cha to apprehend the criminals at the ti.
So he never got out to et her, though he did glance back at her as he was leaving.
The next ti was at the bar.
He had frequented the bar several tis back then, precisely because he suspected it was an illegal operation...
After all, for such a large bar to be at full capacity every day was one thing, but for all the patrons to leave at the exact sa ti was just too bizarre.
His suspicions were perfectly normal.
Later, he’d even asked his sister for help investigating. She just laughed and called him a fool, not elaborating beyond a single sentence: she hadn’t found anything abnormal.
He had wanted to pursue the investigation, but a new mission ca up, and the matter was dropped.
However, before leaving the Main Star, he had assigned two people to continue surveillance on the bar.
The result? Both of them beca her fans.
When they occasionally reported in, nine out of ten sentences were just them gushing about Jiang Qin.
It got to the point where he thought his subordinates had been bribed.
Then, she started getting busy, and with one incident after another, she rarely went to the bar anymore.
He, however, kept the two of them there to continue watching the bar’s owner.
Now, suddenly eting her here, besides his surprise, he felt an inexplicable warmth spreading through his body.
...
Mo Chen lay down on the sofa, his limbs stiff.
His mind was a ss.
One mont, he was recalling his previous soothing sessions; the next, he felt an inexplicable nervousness.
After he closed his eyes, all of his senses went on high alert.
’He found himself wondering, would she also want to make her own? Would she take this chance to get her hands on ?’
’If she did try to take advantage of , would resisting too strongly anger her?’
’And push her away for good?’
’But if I didn’t resist, would she think I was the type of man who accepts any advance?’
’Would she think I was promiscuous?’
With his mind racing with wild thoughts, his entire body began to ache with intense pain again.
But Mo Chen was long used to it. Even as his Spirit Sea felt like it was churning his brain to pulp, his body only trembled slightly.
Jiang Qin noticed.
Her feelings were just as complex.
Nearly everyone she had treated these past few days had experienced uncontrollable tremors.
It was as she always thought: while she had no respect for the Federation’s high command and no sense of duty to serve them, she deeply admired the people who bore such heavy burdens for the sake of everyone else.
Whether they were warriors, dical Masters, soothing masters, or even the people of the Empire currently fighting on the front lines.
The peace of the Interstellar was maintained by their very lives.
"Admiral Mo, please put on the helt that’s on the sofa."
"Alright."
Mo Chen didn’t ask why. He simply put it on.
He then discovered that his consciousness had automatically logged onto the Star Network and materialized in an unfamiliar place.
It was a rustic room with brick and earthen walls.
He was lying on a simple, antique-style wooden bed, surrounded by other vintage furniture.
Vintage celebrity posters were stuck to the walls, and a radio on the desk was playing.
A gentle breeze drifted in through the window, carrying the sound of cicadas chirping in the afternoon.
For so reason, the tension he carried at all tis suddenly crumbled away.
In this environnt, he found himself inexplicably relaxing. No matter how many tis he told himself to stay alert, he just couldn’t.
Just then, a beautiful singing voice drifted from the radio.
It was her voice.
"She sang of eting an old acquaintance in a distant land,
Every step, every word, an expression of longing.
The one in the audience has achieved great success,
But no longer recognizes the old friend on the stage..."
Listening to the operatic-style vocals coming from the old radio, Mo Chen finally let himself sink into the lody.
The small ceiling fan overhead whirred, its blades stirring the air with a rhythmic CREAK...
anwhile, in the actual soothing room, Jiang Qin’s Spiritual Body was circling Mo Chen’s, expressing a great deal of friendliness.
After finishing one song, she didn’t stop.
Mo Chen’s Riot Value was simply too high, so she sang another song, once again in an operatic style.
...
When the two songs were over, she put her instrunt away.
Seeing that Mo Chen was still fast asleep, she didn’t disturb him.
She took out a drawing board and began to draw in silence.
A tranquil silence filled the room.
「Two hours later.」
Mo Chen woke up from his deep sleep.
When he opened his eyes to the stark white ceiling, he felt as if a lifeti had passed.
It took him a long mont to rember that he had co for a soothing session—and had fallen asleep!
Mo Chen quickly sat up and apologized. "I’m sorry, I’ve held up your work."
"You don’t need to apologize, Admiral. Soothing you is my job.
Besides, you weren’t asleep for that long. I took the opportunity to recover so of my spiritual power."
"Thank you. What is the fee?"
Jiang Qin waved it off. "I don’t charge for my services here. After all, I volunteered to support the front lines. I ca prepared to do my part for the Federation."
’There’s a saying: the things you get for free are often the most expensive.’
’For soone who isn’t short on money, reputation is more important than cash.’
’Since I’m putting in the effort, I’m not going to let this beco a re transaction with the military, allowing the Federation’s high command to take the credit.’
