Startled, Clara Grant hadn’t been paying attention. When she took a closer look, she saw a girl with a round face, big eyes, and long hair, who looked to be about her age.
Her eyes were smiling as she greeted her, and she looked quite cute.
When soone greeted her with a smile, Clara Grant naturally responded in kind. She smiled back and said, "Hello."
"My na is Holly Sumrs. I’m playing Julia Holden in the show," Holly continued.
Clara Grant nodded in understanding. Holly Sumrs was sothing like the sixth female lead, so her part was about the sa size as her own.
"Clara Grant. I’m playing Tina." Even though she knew Holly already knew her na, she introduced herself again.
"Mhm, I know. I also know that you’re President Quinn’s girlfriend, right?" Holly, perhaps out of curiosity, blinked and asked her point-blank.
Although they had deliberately lowered their voices, those standing near them could still hear.
At first, no one had paid them much mind, just quietly waiting in line and casually listening in.
But when they heard Holly’s question, everyone imdiately pricked up their ears, waiting for Clara Grant’s answer.
After all, last ti at The Elysian Restaurant, many people had seen Clara Grant with their own eyes and heard President Quinn’s doting and affectionate words to her.
Everyone was speculating whether Clara Grant was President Quinn’s girlfriend—and the future lady boss of Aegis.
Now that they had a chance to hear the answer from the person herself, no one was willing to miss out on such pri gossip.
This was especially true for the young won. Most of them secretly admired Seth Quinn, so they were naturally desperate to know whether they should give up or hold onto a glimr of hope.
Clara Grant could tell that Holly was the straightforward, outspoken type, but her blunt question made her heart start pounding, THUMP-THUMP-THUMP, and she could barely get her words out.
"Wh-who told you I was President Quinn’s girlfriend?"
Seeing that Clara Grant didn’t admit it outright, Holly looked a little confused.
"That last ti, at The Elysian Restaurant. After you turned and left, President Quinn said in a really doting way that you were just being pouty with him. Doesn’t that prove there’s sothing special between you?
"Everyone at the table that day heard him. The rumor has pretty much spread all over the company by now. A lot of people who’ve never t you are dying to catch a glimpse of you."
Clara Grant couldn’t help but grit her teeth. ’And here I was, so earnestly asking him to keep our marriage a secret. Who knew he’d been deliberately leading people to think we were boyfriend and girlfriend all along?’
’More importantly, he knew perfectly well that the employees at Aegis already suspected sothing, yet he still put on an act and agreed to my request to hide our marriage. Was he playing for a fool?’
"So, are you or aren’t you?" Holly asked again when she didn’t answer.
"Of course not. I know President Quinn, but we are definitely not in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship."
Clara Grant denied it, while silently telling herself, ’This doesn’t count as a lie, right? We’re husband and wife, so of course we’re not boyfriend and girlfriend.’
All the young won who heard her answer secretly breathed a sigh of relief. So they weren’t a couple. That was great; they still had a chance.
However, the unfriendly girl standing next to Clara Grant let out another disdainful snort.
"You’re not President Quinn’s girlfriend? I really thought you were." Holly actually seed disappointed. She looked like she wanted to say more, but just then, she heard Director Liam Keane’s speech end. So, she kept quiet and joined everyone in applause.
