The corner of Chase Childs’s mouth twitched, and his eyes darted toward his boss.
’If it were Mrs. Quinn speaking to the president like that, he’d probably be over the moon. But for it to be Faye Jennings...’
Seth Quinn was still for a long mont, simply staring at Faye Jennings. His gaze made her heart tremble, and she finally added in a quavering voice, "Everyone was hoping to toast you a few more tis, President Quinn. To spend a little more ti with you."
An expression finally broke onto Seth Quinn’s face. His lips curved into a knowing smile. "Is that so? I thought it was you, Miss Jennings, who didn’t want to leave so soon."
Faye Jennings’s heart skipped a beat. "Of course I don’t want you to leave so soon."
At this mont, her usual shrewdness and wisdom were nowhere to be found. Neither was the powerful aura of Aegis’s top star. In front of Seth Quinn, she was just a starstruck fangirl, completely infatuated with him.
Seth Quinn said nothing. Instead, he gave Chase Childs a subtle look. Chase Childs imdiately took the hint, got out of the car, and walked a short distance away.
Seth Quinn looked back at Faye Jennings. "Miss Jennings..."
He had barely spoken her title when Faye Jennings mustered up her courage and interrupted him. "President Quinn, you can just call by my na."

"But Clara Grant is an employee of the company too, isn’t she? Why don’t you treat her the sa and call her Miss Grant?" Faye Jennings blurted out, her temper getting the best of her.
ntioning Clara Grant was a mistake. At her na, Seth Quinn’s face turned to ice. "She is one person, and you are another. Others may not know her status, but you do, don’t you, Miss Jennings? Or am I supposed to refer to my own wife as ’Miss’?"
Faye Jennings was speechless. ’She had always just deluded herself, pretending that as long as Seth Quinn and Clara Grant’s relationship wasn’t public, they weren’t really a married couple.’
’It had gotten to the point where she’d almost forgotten that Clara Grant was, in fact, Mrs. Quinn.’
"Since we’re on the subject, allow to be perfectly clear," Seth Quinn continued. "Miss Jennings, over the past few years, the reason Aegis has promoted you so heavily is that I’ve seen you’re hardworking and intelligent."
"Therefore, a smart person should know her place. I don’t like people who play gas behind my back. Just because I don’t say anything doesn’t an I don’t know what’s going on. To the public, you are Aegis’s top star, so I am affording you so dignity."
"But that does not an my tolerance is without limit. Rember this: I can make you, and I can break you. So don’t even think about testing my limits."
Without sparing a glance for the complex expression on Faye Jennings’s face, he called out in a low voice, "Chase Childs," and rolled up the window.
Chase Childs quickly got into the car, started the engine, and drove away.
Faye Jennings was left standing there, a look of terror on her face. ’Does he know sothing? No, what I did was too secretive. There’s no way he could know.’
’Even if he were suspicious, he’d suspect Sandra, not . How could he possibly suspect ?’
