Clara Grant’s thoughts were once again a tangled ss.
Seth Quinn erged from the kitchen holding a tray with several takeout containers. He walked to the dining table, placed them down one by one, and said to Clara Grant, "I ordered this on the way back, thinking we could eat when you woke up. I just didn’t expect you to sleep this long.
If I ordered more now, I was afraid you’d be too hungry to wait. So, I just reheated everything. Let’s eat this for now. I can order more later."
Clara Grant snapped back to her senses. Her gaze drifted to the wall clock, which read five in the afternoon.
She was shocked. ’Did I really sleep for that long?’ They had returned to the city shortly after noon at the latest. On top of the two-plus hours she had already slept in the car, she had just slept for more than four hours straight?!
’It seems all those early mornings, late nights, and working myself to the bone on set for the past month were no joke. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have slept this long the second I got a chance to relax.’
She pulled her gaze away from the clock and looked at the takeout on the table. The food looked and slled incredible, and she was sure it would taste just as good. Her appetite was instantly piqued.
"This all looks great! There’s no need to order more," Clara Grant said, leaning in for a sniff. A smile spread across her face unconsciously. "Wow, that slls amazing."
With that, she picked up her chopsticks and dug in.
Her mood lifted instantly with the first bite of delicious food. She had always believed there was no problem a good al couldn’t solve. And if one couldn’t, two definitely would.
Seth Quinn watched her, an uncontrollably fond smile playing on his lips. He returned to the kitchen and ca out with two bowls of hot rice.
He set one bowl in front of Clara Grant and the other in front of himself before sitting down and starting to eat.
Clara Grant looked up. "You haven’t eaten this whole ti either, have you?"
"Mhm." Seth Quinn took a bite of a dish and t her gaze. "I was planning on waiting to eat with you. But then I saw how soundly you were sleeping, so I joined you for a nap. Who knew we’d end up sleeping for so long."
Clara Grant’s heart skipped a beat. She lowered her gaze and muttered, "You should have just eaten by yourself since I was asleep. Why did you have to wait for ?"
"I couldn’t help it. I just wanted to wait for you."
