A Night of Desire Chapter 224 - 221: How Could He Be So Boring and Childish

Clara looked up, watching his face slowly draw closer. She shrank back, pressing her hands desperately against his chest to stop him.

"Try what? I don’t want to try anything... Seth, are you insane?! This is a hospital hallway! You... you can’t kiss . Soone’s going to see us."

But Seth just let out a laugh. In stark contrast to her resistance and anxiety, he seed utterly delighted. Clara felt his chest vibrate with his cheerful laughter under her hands.

"Who said anything about kissing you? I was just thinking that if we got a little closer, we could see if I give you my cold." Seth’s arms around her tightened, and he leaned in even closer. "Or could it be... that you’re actually hoping I’ll kiss you?"

Clara was speechless.

Her face flushed crimson, and she was utterly mortified. He hadn’t actually said he was going to test it by kissing her. It seed she’d just been oversensitive and had let her imagination get the better of her.

’But, it was his fault for making her think that way. He was the one who was always kissing her at the drop of a hat, especially over the last two days.’

At that thought, her embarrassnt turned to anger. With a sudden burst of strength, she wriggled out of his arms and snapped, "See a doctor or don’t. It’s not like I’m the one with a cold."

Then she turned and stalked toward the hospital room, cursing indignantly under her breath. ’I hope you die from it!’

Back in the hospital room, Cherie was looking worried. Seeing Clara’s angry expression, he was afraid to speak at first. ’What if our plan is exposed? What if Clara gets angry and divorces Uncle again? Then wouldn’t everything we did have been for nothing?’

Cherie’s little face was scrunched up. He looked at her and asked timidly, "Clara, are you okay?"

Clara was still fuming. Hearing Cherie’s question, she replied distractedly, "I’m fine."

Then she muttered, "It’s all because of that bastard... he just loves to bully and tease people."

Cherie could tell she didn’t seem to know they had conspired to trick her. ’Otherwise, she wouldn’t be this calm.’

’So what happened? Why is Clara mad?’

’A bastard who bullies and teases people? Oh, I get it. Uncle must have done sothing to make her angry again.’

Cherie leaned in closer and whispered conspiratorially, "Clara, who are you calling a bastard? Uncle Quinn? Did he bully you or tease you? If he did, then Uncle Quinn must really like you."

"Wha-what do you an, he likes ?" The comnt snapped Clara completely out of her thoughts. She said with an amused laugh, "You’re just a kid. What do you know about liking soone!"

"Of course I know! When a boy likes a girl, he’ll tease her and pick on her. That’s how he gets her to notice him. That’s how all the kids were at my kindergarten in the U.S.A."

Clara couldn’t help but laugh. "’All the kids,’ huh? So, were there a lot of boys in your kindergarten with crushes on little girls? You have one too?"

"Of course," Cherie said, his voice a mixture of pride and shyness. "I like Stephanie, so I always pull her pigtails and pinch her cheeks. I even call her a little chubster sotis. But I don’t an it. I just want her to notice ."

Then, he couldn’t resist adding, "Stephanie is a little Chinese girl with big eyes, a round face, and long hair. When it cos to girls, I prefer Chinese girls, even though lots of pretty foreign girls have a crush on ."

"PFFT." Clara finally burst out laughing. ’Kids these days are really sothing else,’ she thought.

"He’s a grown-up," she said. "He wouldn’t be as childish as you little kids."

’That’s right. He’s a mature, experienced man who’s dated countless won, not so clueless kid with his first crush. How could he be so petty and childish!’
