Autumn Shelby looked up, studying her for a mont before speaking. "Miss Grant, while your relationship with Clara Grant is rather special and your information very reliable, at the end of the day, words alone aren’t proof. Even if I believe you, what can be done if others don’t?
When the ti cos, what if we fail to drive Clara Grant away and she turns the tables on us, accusing us of slander? After all, everything requires evidence these days. Without solid proof, the public won’t buy it."
Chloe Grant smiled slightly. "Miss Shelby, rest assured. Since I was bold enough to tell you about this for you to use against Clara Grant, it goes without saying that I have sufficient evidence. I have both witnesses and physical proof all lined up. Just tell when you need it, and I’ll bring everything to you."
"Is that so?" Hearing how confidently she spoke, Autumn Shelby felt relieved. "That’s good."
After a mont, she paused and added, "So, Miss Grant, what are your conditions? Let’s hear them."
Chloe Grant smiled. ’She had been waiting for her to ask that very question.’
"Miss Shelby, you’re not just beautiful, you’re also incredibly sharp. Since you’ve asked so directly, I won’t beat around the bush. To be honest, they aren’t really conditions, just two small favors I’d like to ask of you."
Autumn Shelby smiled as well, her expression unreadable. "Tell , Miss Grant."
"A while ago, also because of Clara Grant, I made a few moves against her. Who would have thought she’d run crying to President Quinn to complain? He rashly believed her and actually announced that Aegis would blacklist completely.
As you know, for an actress, being completely blacklisted by Aegis basically ans my career is over. So, I hope that after I help you drive Clara Grant away from Seth Quinn’s side, you can put in a good word for with President Quinn and get him to lift my ban."
Autumn Shelby lowered her gaze, contemplating for a mont. Then she looked up, her expression confident. "That’s no problem. Don’t worry. As long as I can successfully return to Seth’s side, I will make sure he revokes your ban."
"Then I must thank you in advance, Miss Shelby," Chloe Grant said with a delighted smile.
Autumn Shelby paused briefly, then asked, "And the other one?"
"The other one is about and Miles." As she ntioned Miles Quinn, a bashful look was plain to see on Chloe Grant’s face.
Autumn Shelby was curious. "Oh?"
"You just returned from abroad, Miss Shelby, so you probably haven’t heard. The truth is, the Quinn and Grant families were originally supposed to be joined by marriage, and the two people to be married were Miles and I."
At this, Chloe Grant saw the doubt on Autumn Shelby’s face and, knowing what she was thinking, explained, "You must be thinking that with the Grant family’s status, we aren’t nearly high enough to qualify for a marriage alliance with the Quinns, right?
Yes, if we’re talking purely about status, the Grant family certainly wouldn’t qualify. But many years ago, my father saved Uncle Quinn’s life. Both our families only found out about this recently. To repay my father for that life-saving debt, Uncle Quinn thought of setting Miles and up."
As she spoke, Chloe Grant smiled. "Miss Shelby, you might laugh, but I fell for Miles the mont I first saw him. No, it was love. I fell in love with Miles at first sight. Perhaps Uncle Quinn noticed my feelings, and that’s why he proposed the marriage alliance."
"But things don’t always go as planned. I love Miles, but he doesn’t love . He refused to marry . So the matter has been dragging on, and because it’s taken so long, it seems Uncle and Aunt Quinn are starting to have second thoughts. So..."
