Her electric scooter was quite compact, so it fit into the trunk of Sarah Shelby’s car.
After stowing the scooter, Sarah Shelby got into the driver’s seat, and Clara Grant got into the passenger seat as well. As Sarah started the car, she casually asked, "Clara, what took you so long upstairs?"
If only she hadn’t asked. The question made Clara Grant’s mind flash back to the scene upstairs, to Seth Quinn brazenly declaring that he wanted to sleep with her!
When Clara didn’t answer, Sarah Shelby glanced at her in confusion, only to notice sothing was off.
"Clara, what’s wrong? Why is your face so red? Are you not feeling well?" Sarah Shelby said, anxiously reaching out to feel her forehead and check for a fever.
Clara Grant gently dodged her hand. "Just focus on driving. I’m fine, it’s just... I was just rushing around upstairs looking for that manager."
"Then how co I didn’t notice earlier?" Sarah Shelby put her hand back on the steering wheel, still a little confused.
"Oh, you just weren’t paying close attention," Clara Grant said, touching her own face as she changed the subject. "It’s so late, you don’t have to drive all the way ho. Just drop off at your apartnt building. It won’t take long to ride my scooter back from there."
"No way. I’d be worried," Sarah Shelby said seriously. Especially after what happened yesterday, she was even more reluctant to let Clara ride ho alone at night.
"Besides, it’s not even that late. It’s barely nine, and I don’t have anything to do when I get back anyway."
"If you have nothing to do, you could get so rest. Don’t you have a full day of classes tomorrow? How will you have the energy for them if you don’t get enough sleep?"
Although Sarah Shelby and Clara Grant were both at The Nymphaea, they had different majors. Sarah was studying fashion design. Fortunately, unlike Clara, Sarah hadn’t blindly picked her major during the college entrance exams; fashion design was sothing she genuinely loved.
"Don’t worry. Even if I go to bed at one or two in the morning, it won’t affect my energy for class the next day."
Seeing she couldn’t win the argunt, Clara Grant gave in and let Sarah drive her ho. At least the subject had been successfully changed.

It was only about nine-thirty when they arrived at Clara Grant’s apartnt complex. She invited Sarah Shelby to co up for a bit, but Sarah declined, worried she would disturb Skylar Hayes and Cherie so late at night.
Clara Grant didn’t insist. She watched Sarah’s car drive off into the distance before heading upstairs.
Unexpectedly, the mont she walked in the door, Cherie rushed over and threw his arms around her legs. Clara Grant jumped, startled. She had thought he would be fast asleep by now.
Skylar Hayes followed him out of the bedroom, explaining to her daughter with a smile, "Cherie was asleep, but he woke right up when he heard a noise. He called out ’Sister!’ and ca running out."
Clara Grant took Cherie’s small hand and said guiltily to Skylar Hayes, "Mom, having Cherie here must be disturbing your rest, isn’t it?"
’Mom’s health isn’t good; staying up late always leaves her exhausted. If she weren’t helping look after Cherie, she would’ve been asleep long before now.’
"Not at all. Actually, Cherie and I went to bed quite early. He just woke up when he heard the door. Clara, you’ve had a long day too. Go take a shower and get so sleep." As she spoke, Skylar Hayes reached to take Cherie’s small hand and lead him back to the bedroom.
But Cherie dodged her hand, looking up at Clara Grant with his big, dewy eyes. "I want to sleep with Sister."
’If he slept with Sister, he could get so useful intel. That was the key.’
