Now reading: Chapter 106: Soul Metamorphosis from A Serpent's Tale, a Fantasy novel by Wyvers.

I woke up from my trance to find myself in a different place, it wasn’t the white space I was just in obviously, but it wasn’t in the blacky abyss where I t Nachash and that other being.

It was sowhere else entirely, but I’m not sure where.

And I soon realised that I was inside an egg. I don’t know how I know this, but maybe it’s instinctual.

Regardless, I’m inside an egg right now, and I think that this is how my soul evolves. By encasing itself, or rather myself, in a sealed shell like an egg, it undergoes a process of transformation.

’I think it was called tamorphosis?’

But that wasn’t important right now. What was important, was that I could feel the changes in my soul.

It felt like the energies that I was, or had absorbed by now, were fusing with and helping in reshaping my soul.

It wasn’t a painful experience, but more like I was in a warm bath whilst getting a massage, except, the water was massaging , and I was the water. But I couldn’t move at all, I just kind of floated around randomly.

It was a very weird sensation that was hard to describe, but what wasn’t as hard to describe, was the sensation of growth that I felt, not just in my power, but in my very being, like everything was being remoulded.

I don’t know how long I was there for, as I had no sense of ti, but it felt like years. Either way, the process continued, and I remained conscious throughout.

And throughout this experience I could feel more than just the empowernt that was happening in my soul, I could also feel the physical changes, as weird as that sounds. And I observed these changes as my body slowly moved and twisted around.

Originally, my soul looked the sa as my physical body, but now, it felt like my tail was growing longer, my fangs extended, and horns protruded from my forehead amongst other minor changes.

Eventually, I felt that the transformation process was coming to an end. A few more changes had happened over this period, such as my scales gaining a small, sharp fin-shaped blade atop the centre of the scale itself. I also noticed that my breasts seed to be a bit bigger.

I hope that if any of these changes affect my body, it’s only my boobs that are affected, and not the rest of my body.

Anyways, I soon felt the transformation end, and I could finally move by myself, and not by floating like a piece of wood that was subrged in water or sothing.

With my movent now returned to , I floated forwards in whatever direction I was facing and eventually reached a wall. I proceeded to start punching said wall to break through the eggshell and I assu complete my evolution.

*Crack*

After just a few punches, I heard a cracking sound coming from the spot I was striking.

*Crack* *Crack*

A few more hits and I could now see the cracks growing larger after every strike.

And then, it shattered.

I then pushed through the broken shell and out into another white voidscape.

"Where am I now?" I spoke out to no one in particular, not expecting a response.

"Hmm?" I heard soone respond to in an unexpected manner. "Who are you little... not so little one?"

I turned my head to see a giant spiritual silver tree, far off into the distance? I’m not quite sure if it had a trendous size and was really far away, or if it was just surppressing its size.

"I-" I hesitated to answer as I wasn’t sure what kind of being this spirit was.

"Hm, I can see your aversion towards , but worry not, I shan’t hurt you little one." The voice, which sounded ancient, said to .

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I am Efyos, the spiritual guardian of this forest, or at least, I’m supposed to be... Hahh..." Efyos sighed dejectedly.

"I know you! Cythistia told about you!" I exclaid.

"Hmm? Ah, you must be the serpent that she told about. Yes, I know of you as well." He replied.

"Sooo... Where exactly is this place?" I asked.

"In another plane of existence. I know that might be a bit hard to understand, but that’s the truth."

"So why am I here then?" I further inquired.

"Most likely because of where you decided to undergo your tamorphosis, it allowed you to do it in my domain." Efyos theorised. "Which is a good thing, because if you weren’t in a safe place both physically and spiritually, soone or sothing could have hard you during your tamorphosis."

"What do you an by ’soone could’ve hard ’?"

He then went on to explain, "Well, what you did was go through a transformation of the soul, which will almost always happen in the soul plane. So, if you aren’t in a soul domain like mine, and get really bad luck, either so wandering soul creature will co by and try to kill and eat you, or so other being who can enter the soul plane with their own soul will attempt to do the sa."

"Oh..." That was a lot to take in all at once.

The fact that I can be in danger simply because of where I am or who is around at that ti.

"Although, you seed to form a natural protective cocoon around yourself when you do this, so you might be safe." He went on to say.

"Oh, okay..."

"I’m not entirely sure about that though, so don’t bet on it. Plus, I didn’t want to try anything in case it interrupted your transformation process midway."

I remained silent.

"Ah, you seem to not have much long left here, well, goodbye for now, may we et again, and good luck."

"W-Wait! What do you -"

I was cut off as I was pulled back into my body in the physical plane.

*Crash*

I was launched into the wall from the backlash of my soul being forcefully shoved back inside my body.

"Traytora!" I heard soone shouting.

The rushed over to my side I I could feel that it was Cythistia. She used her magic to help alleviate so of the pain.

"Uurghh..." I groaned.

"Are you okay?! I was just sitting here watching over you, and, and then you suddenly flew into the wall. What happened?!" She scread in a panicked manner.

I placed a hand on her shoulder to stop her from saying anything else and to calm her down before she did sothing drastic out of panic.

I leaned forward and kissed her on the cheek before showing her a tired smile.

"Oh thank goodness you’re okay. I was very worried then that sothing bad happened to you." She sighed in relief.

I just continued to smile in response.

"You look tired, would you like to take you to bed now?" She asked.

I nodded slightly and she knelt down and helped hoist my tail onto her as my arms wrapped around her body as I yawned and started drifting off to sleep.

"Good night sweetheart." She whispered gently.

Not long after that, I dozed off into dreamland.
