Now reading: Chapter 225: I’m Bored from A Serpent's Tale, a Fantasy novel by Wyvers.

Several hours later the sun was about to set and I had managed to unearth the behemoth that I was tugging along and even dragged it over to the next dune towards the city.

Turns out I was right with my guess on how long this thing was with it being about twenty-five tres long. Pretty large.

But, now that I had gotten it out of the sand completely, it was a lot easier to pull on.

The only thing that I had to worry about right now was getting it to the city alive. I had to keep it paralysed constantly, so whenever I felt like I could, I injected it with paralysis venom and occasionally used my eyes for good asure.

Now the question was whether or not I should just continue lugging this thing throughout the night or if I should get so sleep.

I would sleep eventually, I can’t go without it, it’s just, what are the benefits of not sleeping now?

Not a lot honestly. I can’t say for certain that this bastard won’t either eat or run away should the venom stop working, allowing it to move again.

I figured that it was probably a bit too early to take such chances and just pushed through the night.

Throughout the night, until dawn ca, I kept on pulling and tugging this huge hunk of live at toward the city.

And despite the fact that night had fallen, it was still quite hot as the general atmosphere of the desert just captured the heat from the sun during the day and would slowly fade at night. Only to begin again the next morning.

Still, I was used to such temperatures having lived here for basically my entire life so I wasn’t bothered by it much.

But that didn’t an I wasn’t sweating my ass off trying to drag this worm across the sand, making sure to keep it immobilised and out of the ground.

I know I’m repeating myself a bit here, but what am I supposed to do? I’m literally not doing anything else other than dragging a huge chunk of living at across the dunes.

I do have my idea of fusing skills to decrease the amount of space they take up on my Soul Scroll when I read it because let’s be honest, when they get too big and too complicated, they just beco a chore to read.

It’s already at that point so if I can just decrease the amount of Skills into so more all encompassing one’s, that’ll be great for as it will an I won’t have to hurt my eyes all the ti just looking at those blocks of text. It’s really annoying at tis.

But as I thought about doing that throughout the night, I decided not to do sothing like that as it might draw the wrong kind of attention.

I might like the thought of having the reputation of being able to bring a Dune Worm into the city alive, as people will be more likely to leave alone then.

However, if they see or even notice doing sothing like this, they might start asking questions. And that might lead to people wanting answers.

Answers I don’t feel comfortable revealing if I can help it.

But, that’s an issue for later. The sun is rising and I still have a lot of pulling to do.

The evening of the following day, after having done nothing but pull and pull and pull, I finally decided to go to sleep.

Over the past couple of days, I had been constantly injecting my venom into the tongue of this thing that I was using to pull it along whenever I could and felt like I was able to.

I think that was the thing that tired out the most. I still had like just over sixty percent of my stamina left, but my mind was screaming at to sleep or else I might just collapse.

Thankfully I wasn’t too far from where I needed to be to signal the city guard for help.

But that was for tomorrow. For now, I sleep.

But not before giving one last dose of paralysis venom to the worm.

When the sun started rising the next day, I was happy to see that the worm was still lying there on the ground motionless.

So, I injected another dose of paralysis venom into it and even gave it another stare just for good asure. Wasn’t sure how much longer the venom would last so I’m playing it safe.

But now that that was done, it was ti to get this thing over to the city finally. Or at least close enough to signal for help.

It took several hours, but by noon I was able to crest on of the dunes and see the vestige of the city, which was surrounded by a barred flat plain of hard, dry and dead earth, which blends into the desert quite well.

When I crested the dune that I was on, I then sent out a [Fireball] roughly forty-five degrees into the air to my right, and then another one also to the right but just a fait bit lower.

This would signal that I required aid to the city guard. It wouldn’t signal that I was in danger or anything, just that I needed so assistance with sothing.

And anyone who lives in the desert is capable of this so long as they get taught, as anyone born in the desert had a natural affinity for [Fire]. Maybe not everyone had as strong of an affinity as , but they at least had enough to learn and cast [Fireball] for these signals at least.

Regardless of that though, I would still have to wait for assistance as I was still quite far away from the city.

Still, at least I knew that help was on the way, even if it would take a while.

Twenty four hours pass and it was the following afternoon and I was halfway down a dune, trying to pull the worm over said dune when I saw a small caravan with seven soldiers crest the dune opposite .

They looked ready to fight, but upon seeing pulling the tongue of the worm, they relaxed a little. They crawled over to and asked if I wanted help.

"So, you need help to butcher this thing or do you plan to take it all in in one piece?" Their leader, a male Lamia with a deep and husky voice asked. He seems like he’s popular with the ladies with how alluring his voice is for us serpentine.

I didn’t leave him waiting as I dropped the tongue onto the ground to answer him. "I just need help dragging it along... *Pant* I’ve managed to paralyse it, so I want to bring it in alive if possible."

"ALIVE?!?" One of the other serpentines scread in disbelief. Apart from the male one who seed to be in charge, the rest seed to be either female or futa’s.

The one that scread seed to be a futa Naga like myself, except her hair was orange, as were her eyes. Beside her was another girl with orange scales instead of red with green hair and eyes.

Then there was the other three who were all Lamia’s with very similar looks an features, seemingly triplets. They stuck by the man obsessively. I think I can tell what the dynamic of the group was like.

All of them were wearing so basic leather and chainmail armour. But the last one, who seed to be an official guard, was wearing so actual tal armour and a helt with a bunch of red feathers.

"I’ll take it from here Vyrdan. You and your team can get the supplies necessary to help pull this thing back to the city." The woman who seed to be an actual guard ordered the others to get so supplies out from the caravan.

She then turned back to and asked about my purpose in doing what I was doing. "So, what exactly is your plan bringing this thing in alive? This is a monuntal threat to the city you know?" Her voice laden with maturity, grit and experience, being deeper than it probably should be, giving it an air of power and authority.

"I want the notoriety. Mainly so that people will leave alone upon hearing that I managed to bring one of these in alive, since doing such a thing is already incredibly tough. And the fact that I did it on my own will just add to that." I explained simply.

"Hmm. Not the weirdest nor the worst explanation for sothing I’ve ever heard. And what exactly do you intend to do with it when you bring it in?"

"Uhh... I haven’t actually thought through properly. I think just sell it to the highest bidder." I answered with a slight hint of uncertainty.

"Hmm... Whatever. It’s not my place to say what you do with it, just to make sure that you don’t have any nefarious purposes with it." The guard woman relaxed upon hearing my answer.

"Hey! You lot ready to lug this thing back yet?" She yelled at the rest of her little squad.

"Just about!" The male one replied as so of them started to co over with so stuff and the others grabbed a few more things before they all started to get to work setting up a device that would make it easier to transport this thing back to the city.
