Now reading: Chapter 249: Exams (2/2) from A Serpent's Tale, a Fantasy novel by Wyvers.

Everyone put their writing instrunts down and the teacher ca and collected our papers before handing twelve of us what seed to be a map.

"If you received a map, then please head to the cafeteria. If you did not receive one, then please lease and try again next year."

Two people got up with their heads hunched down as they quietly left the room. The rest of us gave a sigh of relief that we didn’t cheat at all.

I saw that Asty hadn’t failed and was just relieved to have gotten through the exam.

Before the teacher left, she inford us of one more thing, "Oh, one more thing to note, you’ll be taking the practical exams after lunch, so please eat together so I may collect you at one. With that, I shall be off."

We all looked at one another after she left and all headed out to head to the cafeteria. With a male Naga leading the pack.

Wait... I thought only orphans were in that classroom? And the only guy that’s admitted there is David. So, who’s this fucker?

I counted heads and saw that there were now thirteen of us heading to the cafeteria.

I told Asty to stay clear of weird n like him regardless and went up to greet him.

He had five girls and a futa fawning over him, with the other four doing their hardest to stay away from him despite his cat calling.

"Excuse , but who the fuck are you?" I asked in the most polite tone I could muster.

"Huh?" He stopped to turn his head back to face mine, clearly displeased.

But his displeasure soon turned into pleasure as he saw my, "Why that’s no way for a lady like you to talk. Why don’t I teach you so manners?"

Goddess is that seriously his best attempt at flirting? That was absolute horseshit. It worked on the six girls following him for so reason though as they fawned over him.

"Nice try dumbass. Your shitty lines won’t work on . That aside, the fuck are you doing here? You weren’t seriously waiting outside of our exam room for us, were you?" I crossed my arms as I started to attempt to peel apart his façade.

"Huuhh? What do you an sweetheart? I’m a nice guy, I can show you a good ti if you’d just let . C’mon, what so you say?" He tried to sway with an overly excessive nice guy façade, which I found equally as repulsive as it was unnecessary, as he got closer and leaned in to .

But that wasn’t the wort part. The worst part was that he tried to reach out and grope by hiding it through a handshake.

I saw right through his paltry tricks and grabbed his wrist tightly. Not quite enough to break his wrist, but enough to leave a mark that wouldn’t go away for so ti.

"AAAAHHHHH!!!! Let go of you bitch!! Fuck! It hurts!" He squealed like a little bitch who’s never felt pain in his life. Probably so noble twat’s child.

I then grabbed his shoulder and pulled him in close so that I could whisper into his ear and give him a ssage.

"Listen closely because I won’t repeat myself. If you keep this up, I will make sure that you are sent you to hell when you die. So stop this pathetically fake frivolous playboy act and beco a proper man. Don’t use pansy ass thods like this, that just shows how pathetic you are as a living being."

I got rather angry at him and ended up hissing at him aggressively at the end there, but once I was done, I let go of him and inford everyone that we should leave now.

I had to stare nacingly at the girls that were fawning over him before they followed us as well.

One of the four girls that avoided him like the plague ca up to and thanked .

"Thank you for that. The rest of us couldn’t muster up the will to confront him. The last ti we ca here, he happened to do the sa to us, but we later found out what a piece of shit scumbag he is." She scowled as she ntioned her own past experiences with him.

"It’s okay. I did that because he was giving out a really disgusting aura." I wasn’t lying when I said that. I really did sense a truly heinous and detestable aura coming from him. It almost looked like it was coddling the girls that fawned over him.

"I just did that because he deserved it. And I didn’t want him poaching my friend."

"Wait... Would he have gone after ?" Asty asked with worry after she realised what I was talking about.

"I’m afraid so. If you weren’t so focused on your friend, you would’ve fallen into his clutches." Another girl explained.

"Well, that’s all behind us, both figuratively and literally. So let’s just ignore it and go get so lunch." I said in an effort to get us away from that scoundrel.

A few of the girls giggled and agreed with and the twelve of us all headed to the cafeteria to get so lunch.

Along the way we got to know each other a bit more and the circumstances in which we beca orphans and ca to the orphanage.

It seed that apart from Asty, everyone else had to trek their way here from another city much like myself. One of them apparently lost their friend to a monster in the desert on their way here...

I felt that, deep within . I felt that I could relate to that.

We moved away from the depressing topic and moved our talk to how we all think our written entrance exam went.

A few of them were nervous, including Asty who had no confidence at all. And the rest of us weren’t worried because we had been hardened by the harsh reality of this world. We would be happy to be accepted and if not, it wasn’t the end of the world.

I won’t lie though, I was hoping that I didn’t fail, because I didn’t want to fail and have to try again another ti.

Before it could get too depressing though, we made it to the cafeteria and got our lunch and sat down. Our conversation still on the topic of school life, from what it would be like to the things we wanted to learn or what our ultimate goal would be here besides passing our education.

And before we knew it, it was one o’ clock and the teacher who was instructing our class earlier.

She had co to pick us all up for the next part of the examination.

And that next examination, was the practical examination. Were they would be testing our physical and magical capabilities.

We would be taking the physical exam first, and the magical one later.

And the first thing our practical exam tested us with was a race. It was ant to test how fast we could go and for how long.

The test was conducted like this. We would race another student who was reaching the end of their academic course around a track.

They would race around the track five tis, or five laps, which was the ti limit. And we would be examined based on how fast we were compared to them and how tired we were after ti was up.

They would do it in two sets, so seven people would be racing. Half of our class at a ti against two separate other serpentine students.

I was set to go in the latter group, so I would cheer Asty on, since she was in the first group.

She only managed to do three and a half laps by the ti the comparison student finished their five with only a little sweating, compared to Asty who was glistening under the sun.

She was worried about how she did but the examiner told her that she did excellently for soone her age, which managed to calm her nerves.

And after a few minutes of letting everyone rest, it was ti for to go up and show them what I had.

They signalled the start of the race and I imdiately sped off and managed to complete the race in record ti. All without breaking a sweat too.

The rest of the practical tests were also too easy for . Those being a test of strength, skill, reaction and more.

They started off pretty simple, and slowly devolved into more fighting-oriented tests, which I aced easily.

Asty on the other hand, decided to stop after the reaction tests once she saw what was being tested.

Other than that, the physical exam was a piece of cake and I could tell that I would pass with flying colours.

And after a half hour of rest, we moved onto the magic exams.
