It was so noisy here, and with nothing else to do, playing a ga didn’t seem like a bad idea.

But Su Yun hadn’t touched any gas in a long ti, so when she finally did, she ended up playing mid lane and went 0–7. The enemy jungler kept targeting her, and she practically handed over the entire team’s kills.

“It's been too long... I'm really rusty,” Su Yun murmured, lowering her head in embarrassnt. Her long white hair fell over her face, hiding her expression.

Seeing how serious her cousin had been about ranks earlier, she figured he probably cared a lot. No doubt she was dragging him down.

(Mid lane, what the hell are you doing? Delete the ga already. Shouldn’t you elentary school kids be studying or sothing?)

Her poor performance quickly drew fire from teammates. So even started insulting her parents.

Su Yun didn’t say a word. She simply muted their mics.

Arguing with people like that was a waste of energy.

“What about you? You can’t talk either—look at how trash you're playing.”

Suddenly, another loud voice ca from beside her. Su Yun blinked. Her cousin was now fully engaged in a shouting match with soone in the ga.

“@#*!”

“You’re only alive because birth control failed,” he snapped furiously.

At this point, the match didn’t matter anymore. Her cousin’s only goal was to completely tilt the other guy.

Su Yun didn’t dare say anything. She just focused on playing properly.

She knew she was the worst one in the match, but her cousin still stood up for her. Maybe that’s just what family was.

In the end, her foul-mouthed cousin successfully enraged the other player, who rage quit and went AFK.

“That guy… Sorry, I’m not very good. I’ll stop playing.”

When the match ended, Su Yun just wanted to quietly slip away. Her score was about the sa as the guy who rage quit.

“It’s fine. I didn’t play great either,” her cousin said. Even though he lost rank, his tone was surprisingly cheerful. He was even smiling.

“We should probably get going anyway. No ti for another match…”

“Yeah, sure. Next ti you want to play, let know. It's more fun with two people,” he said, then quickly walked off.

Su Yun remained seated on the tal bench.

For so reason, she felt like her cousin was being unusually warm toward her. Not just his actions, but his tone too.

“Baby, co in for a second.”

Just then, Wang Haiyan stepped out of the chief’s office and called her in.

Su Yun didn’t hesitate. She picked up her phone and walked over.

Had they co to a conclusion?

As soon as she walked in, she noticed nearly ten pairs of eyes fixed on her.

Everyone had gone quiet for once.

“Fulin, take your daughter to a hospital for a gender check-up soti in the next few days. Get an official report that proves she’s female.”

“You’ll need to go to a major provincial hospital. Reports from small clinics won’t count.”

The police chief was the one speaking, explaining to Su Yun and her parents what docunts they still needed to provide.

The law allowed so flexibility based on local customs. The chief had already reported Su Yun’s special case to higher-ups, and they had agreed to waive the transgender certification requirent. But there were still other necessary docunts to prepare.

Most important of all was a hospital-issued gender confirmation report from a provincial hospital.

But with how Su Yun looked now, getting that kind of check-up would be… awkward, to say the least.

“Alright. Thank you.”

Su Fulin nodded, grateful.

He’d been running around non-stop these past three days and now just wanted to lie down and rest. This outco was already better than expected.

Su Yun and Wang Haiyan both offered their thanks as well.

With the formalities out of the way, everyone sat back down and started chatting casually. They still had dinner plans later that evening.

“Trouble just keeps coming. Couldn’t find the last suspect, and now another pops up. Damn bastards, can’t live peacefully like normal people.”

The police chief was clearly the most bitter of them all.

Su Yun could hear the hatred in his voice—he really wanted to kill those fugitives himself.

But the surveillance coverage in this area was sparse, with few witnesses. They had been searching around the clock but still hadn’t caught anyone. They’d even asked nearby regions for help.

“Hey, Fulin, you’ve got two daughters at ho, right? Better be careful.”

“There’s a new case—soone knocked on the door, and when it opened, he went in and attacked the woman inside.”

“It’s happened before too. That guy was caught and is still in prison, but now it’s happening again…”

“Oh, we’re usually at ho, so it’s fine,” Su Fulin replied with a nod.

After cursing out those sick bastards, the group quickly moved on to other topics. No one paid much attention.

“Hmm?!”

But Su Yun, sitting off to the side, suddenly felt sothing was wrong.

Wasn’t Qin Xue ho alone today?

She imdiately grew anxious and pulled out her phone.

“Baby, listen up and pay attention,” Wang Haiyan whispered beside her, trying to nudge her into putting the phone away.

They were all sitting on couches, gathered around to talk. From their perspective, Su Yun pulling out her phone in the middle of the conversation looked rude.

After all, these people had just helped her. She needed to show at least a little respect.

“Qin Xue is still at ho.”

But Su Yun didn’t care what they thought. She pulled out her phone anyway, furiously typing a ssage, her eyes locked on the screen.

(Sister Xue, are you ho right now? Did anyone knock on the door?)

They’d just been chatting earlier, and everything seed fine—but Su Yun couldn’t relax.

(Qin Xue: I’m ho, no one knocked. What’s up, Sister Xiaoyun?)

(Qin Xue: Are you worried about ~? But Sister Xiaoyun, don’t you think you’re underestimating a little? I only open the door if it’s you, rember?)

A reply ca quickly. Qin Xue sounded as lively as ever.

(When I get back, I’ll call you. If I don’t call, even if you hear my voice outside, don’t open the door, okay?)

(Qin Xue: Okay okay~ Sister Xiaoyun, you’re so sweet to .)

Only after seeing that ssage did Su Yun feel sowhat relieved. But she didn’t put her phone down just yet. Instead, she opened the screenshot she had taken earlier that morning.

It was a location screenshot—showing where her ho was.

She couldn’t help it. She only ca back here once every year or two, maybe ten tis in total. She didn’t really rember the roads around this area.

But even if she didn’t know the exact route, as long as she knew the general direction, she could figure it out. Once she saw familiar streets, she’d be fine.

She stared at the morning’s location screenshot, morized the position, and then opened the map app on her phone.

She was still five kiloters away from ho.

If she ran at full speed, how long would it take?

Su Yun wasn’t sure. She’d never tried before.

But probably… less than five minutes.

She started ssaging Qin Xue while quietly leaving the room—out of respect, at least.

The mont she stepped out, every elder in the room gave her a strange look.

“There’s still soone at ho. She has sothing to take care of,” Su Fulin explained on her behalf.

The others simply nodded and returned to their conversation.

At that mont, alone at ho, Qin Xue was no longer bored.

She sat on the edge of the bed, a sweet smile on her face as she typed ssages to Sister Xiaoyun.

(I want bread, sothing sweet. Can you find so for , Sister Xiaoyun?)

(If you find it, I’ll reward you by letting you eat tonight~)

Even though Qin Xue still felt a bit dizzy, if Sister Xiaoyun was hungry, she would definitely let her eat first.
