Su Yun didn’t have ti to think too much—she crouched down next to the girl.

She didn’t know how long the cat had taken to notice, but when there was a chance, she had to try. After all, this was a human life on the line.

Su Yun pulled out her phone, quickly dialed the landlady's number, and tossed it aside.

Next, she had to rapidly assess the girl’s condition.

Back in middle school, one of the group mbers had given a lecture on this kind of thing. Su Yun had gone in place of a classmate—only about thirty people were there, and she had sat right up front, so she saw everything clearly.

Consciousness, breathing, heartbeat.

“Hey, can you hear ?” Su Yun patted the girl’s shoulder while calling out to her.

“Have you found your ID? Soone's checking,” ca a voice from the phone at that mont—loud and chaotic sounds in the background. It seed the landlady was outside.

“Landlady, soone’s passed out in 1102!” Su Yun said as she adjusted the girl’s body from lying on her side to lying flat.

“1102?” The person on the other end of the phone instantly grew tense at her words, followed by the sound of hurried footsteps.

No response from talking and shoulder-patting ant unconsciousness. Su Yun leaned close to the girl’s nose—no warmth, no sound—no breathing.

Checking for a heartbeat wasn’t hard. Use the index and middle fingers on the neck. She couldn’t rember the exact spot, just that it was a few centiters from the throat, where there was a major artery—it was easy to find.

But when Su Yun pressed her fingers there gently, she didn’t feel a pulse. Her body’s sense of touch was sharp now. If she didn’t feel it, then there really wasn’t a heartbeat.

No consciousness, no breathing, no heartbeat.

Clearly, the girl was already... gone.

No—wait. If she was discovered in ti, this was just sudden cardiac arrest. There was still a chance to save her.

All Su Yun could do now was hope she had arrived in ti.

The girl wore a clean white pajama top. Her body underneath was thin, to the point of looking unhealthy.

And how did Su Yun see the girl's figure? Simple—she took her clothes off. Because she had to. No other reason. No feelings involved.

“ow.” The orange cat rubbed its head against the girl’s hand, but the hand gave no response.

“Hoo...” Su Yun took a deep breath, bracing herself to face the situation head-on.

Honestly, this was her first ti...

Her heart hesitated for a mont—just one or two seconds—then she clasped her left hand over her right, fingers spread and straight, and placed them between the girl’s chest.

Su Yun was strong, but this wasn’t about pressing as fast as possible. It needed to be about two compressions per second, with a depth of around five centiters. Her hands also had to stay perpendicular to the floor.

“Where is she?” ca an anxious voice of a middle-aged woman from outside the door.

Seeing that the door to 1102 was open, the landlady rushed in—only to see the massive wooden door, over two ters tall, collapsed on the living room floor.

There was even a deep dent at the edge of the door, looking eerily strange—but more than that, she was concerned about the girl inside.

“How is she?”

“No response...” Su Yun glanced at the girl’s pale face, looking desperately at the Landlady.

“...”

The Landlady didn’t respond. She silently removed her sunglasses and quickly knelt beside the girl’s head, lifting her chin.

“Stop for a second.”

“Okay.”

Compared to Su Yun, the Landlady’s tone was calm.

Then Su Yun saw the Landlady lean in and kiss the girl.

She was montarily stunned—only then did she rember that CPR wasn’t just about compressions. You needed rescue breaths too.

“You keep pressing. If you can’t, I’ll take over. You do 30 compressions, I’ll give 2 breaths,” the Landlady urged her.

Su Yun reacted quickly and imdiately resud compressions, eyes wide open, not even daring to blink.

Though her body was cold, sweat began to drip uncontrollably from Su Yun’s forehead.

If they couldn’t bring her back, she’d have to watch soone die right in front of her—and that could leave trauma for life.

And the girl looked like a student. The desk was covered in books—probably soone from her own school.

Su Yun thought being turned into a vampire and losing her ID was tragic enough. But now, right beside her, was soone in a situation even worse, many tis over.

As the seconds ticked by, each compression tangled with her panic and fear. After about five minutes, she heard the sound of an ambulance downstairs.

Still, there was no room to relax—they were on the 11th floor. It would take ti to get up here.

After another round of breaths, the Landlady rushed into the bathroom inside the wardrobe and grabbed a yellow towel.

When Su Yun paused for the next rescue breath, the Landlady draped the towel over the girl’s mouth.

A minute later, several paradics wearing masks and reeking of strong dical disinfectant arrived at 1102. The sll was unpleasant—but also strangely reassuring.

At this point, the schoolgirl lying beneath Su Yun was still unconscious.

Even with the professionals there, Su Yun couldn’t feel at ease, seeing no sign of the girl waking up.

“You’re sweating so much. If you’re out of strength, let the hospital staff take over.”

“I... okay.” Su Yun panted, about to say she wasn’t tired at all.

But how could she compare to trained dical personnel? So after completing one more compression cycle, she stood up—seamlessly passing the task to the next person.

After that, she just stood quietly to the side, watching the girl's face.

Now that she had a mont to observe more closely, she noticed—the girl was actually quite pretty.

At this age, she should’ve been enjoying her youth—like the senior in black stockings she saw laughing and chatting with boys the night before. Instead, this girl’s life was hanging by a thread.

Su Yun stood aside, watching from above as they carried the girl downstairs and into the ambulance.

The Landlady and the orange cat got in too. Su Yun stayed at the doorway, watching the pure white angelic vehicle drive away.

She had no choice. She still had to pick up her parents soon. And even if she went along, it wouldn’t help—she’d just be anxious and useless.

The Landlady seed to know this girl pretty well. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have rushed up right away upon hearing soone in 1102 had collapsed—it was like she had already expected sothing like this might happen.

“12:51.” Su Yun checked her phone. The fear and tension from earlier had completely vanished.

Compared to death, she figured that making her parents accept her new female form and sorting out her ID was nothing.

Nothing left to be afraid of.

...

...

“Yuanyuan, what kind of people do you think Xiaoyun’s parents are?” At a table carved like a work of art, Qin Xue occasionally glanced at the ceiling with a dreamy smile.

“I’ve never t them, so I don’t know.” Qin Yuanyuan kept her head down, eating her food. Her sister’s behavior made her feel a little jealous.

Ever since morning, her sister had been bringing that person up from ti to ti. But she was the one who’d always been by her sister’s side.
