Baiyu's search was very efficient; he was highly motivated when it ca to raiding people's houses.

However.

This temple looked large, but there wasn't much inside. Moreover, many places were so gruesoly bloody that one couldn't bear to look directly. It was simply a den of filth, and one couldn't help but wonder how many people this monk had killed.

The more Baiyu searched, the more he was shocked, and a sense of suffocating anger welled up in his heart, a feeling that needed to be released.

Finally.

He simply collected the resources and then set the entire main hall on fire.

The flas soared into the sky, and the crackling sound of burning filled the air.

Long Potian stood next to Baiyu, a trace of lingering sorrow in his eyes: "Brother, do you think I can ever leave this place? If I can't, I can't imagine how to get by in the days to co."

He still hadn't adjusted his mindset.

Thinking of this place as a Ghost City filled with spirits gave him the creeps. If he could just accept that he, too, was one of them, maybe he would feel a lot better.

"I don't know either, but the information I got is that the deceased within this city cannot leave. However, tomorrow I will visit a master. If you want to know if there's a way out, you can co with ."

Baiyu said.

Long Potian nodded. At this mont, he could only place his hopes on Baiyu. As the fire continued to blaze, Baiyu only set fire to the main hall and did not proceed further. After all, he still needed to sleep in the side hall, and if he burnt it all, he would have nowhere to stay.

Soon after this incident, Baiyu returned to his room.

But it wasn't long before.

Outside, the sound of gongs and drums started up again.

This ti, Baiyu felt unsettled. In the dead of night, the loud gongs and drums didn't seem to fear disturbing others. How could anyone sleep in this haunted place?

He thought of the drum player.

Yet this drumming sound was entirely different, carrying a thread of festivity, like a drum team at a wedding.

Long Potian was asleep on the bed next to him, unaware that he no longer needed to sleep.

"Brother Bai, what on earth is going on outside? Do we need to take a look?" Long Potian asked anxiously.

Despite having a mighty na, he wasn't very brave.

"Mm, we can take a look, but let's not leave the temple. It seems the ghosts within the city have a territorial awareness and won't casually enter the domains of other spirits. The temple is temporarily safe."

Baiyu decided to take a look outside.

The two of them made their way to the temple's entrance, and what they saw was a bustling scene on the street: gongs and drums resounding, firecrackers echoing, and Red Lanterns floating in the Black Night. To their surprise, there truly was a bridal procession advancing down the street. Seeing the red sedan chair, Baiyu instinctively felt sothing was off.

What kind of marriage procession takes place this late at night?

Moreover, the procession was extrely eerie. Despite all the commotion, not a single ghost ca out to see from the street sides. Ordinarily, such a spectacle would have drawn a crowd of ghosts from within the city, but instead, not even one appeared.

At this mont, every household had their doors tightly shut, as if avoiding sothing.

In contrast, so roofs were occupied by cultivators from the outside, evidently roused by the disturbance and hoping to profit from the scene. Those entering the Blessed Land all cling to such hopes.

Soon, the unimpeded progress of the bridal procession was halted on the street.

From the other end, another procession arrived.

This procession was even more peculiar, also with the clamor of gongs and firecrackers. They were... a theater troupe!

Yes.

A group of opera perforrs.

Their attire was exceedingly strange, singing opera lyrics in an unknown language while hopping and leaping forward.

Baiyu watched their every move.

"Nan Chenfei, are you really going to stop ?"

The bridal procession halted, and a sharp voice emanated from within the blood-red sedan chair, piercingly shrill.

The theater troupe also paused.

A young man in a white robe stepped out: "Bao Yue, you've crossed the line, and the Madam doesn't like it. She hopes you'll mind your place."

"Courting death!"

Suddenly, a thunderous shout ca from within the red sedan chair, shattering the nearby roofs with sound waves. A red aura shot out from the chair, heading straight for the opera troupe.

"Yaaahhh!"

The entire opera troupe, not to be outdone, grabbed their weapons and surged forward.

It was only then that Baiyu could see clearly what was inside the red sedan chair. It was a person, to be precise, a woman in a red wedding dress with an excellent figure. Her head was covered by a red veil, and Baiyu couldn't see her face.

But judging from her figure, she seed to be a young woman.

After she flew out from the red sedan chair, she lifted her hand, and suddenly the sky poured with pouring rain, and this rain was actually blood-red, it was blood rain!

Baiyu felt sothing ominous, quickly pulling Long Potian and retreating under the eaves.

Pitter-patter.

Large raindrops fell, and so people, unable to escape, were hit. Instantly, white smoke rose from their bodies, sizzling. At this mont, many who entered the Blessed Land to seek fortune scread in agony as their flesh was corroded by the raindrops.

The woman called Bao Yue paid no mind to those around; she raised her hand again, and the heads of the opera troupe mbers instantly flew off, rolling on the ground like basketball-sized balls, spurting blood as their headless corpses fell one by one.

At this mont.

Only the leader of the theater troupe, Nan Chenfei, remained standing, but his body started to show cracks, incredibly terrifying.

"Bao Yue, you actually reached a new realm. I was careless this ti. But the Madam, the Madam won't let you off."

Nan Chenfei shouted furiously.

Though they were ghosts, it was clear they hadn't lost their rationality. Bao Yue ignored Nan Chenfei's shouts and once again attacked, cutting down the head of the opera troupe.

The difference in strength was absolute.

The troupe was dismantled like dry wood, while Bao Yue slowly lowered her hands, then gestured again...

This ti, all the spectators were instantly wiped out.

There was no resistance.

They had no ti to resist, nor were they able to.

Baiyu and Long Potian retreated into the temple and did not suffer this unwarranted disaster. It goes to show, sotis it's best not to spectate; onlookers are prone to collateral damage. Clearly, the spirits were well aware of the danger, hence the tightly shut doors and windows, not daring to wander out.

The bridal procession resud its journey.

Long Potian was scared witless: "Brother Yu, what was that? That woman, wasn't it said there's no combat capability surpassing Grandmaster Level in the Blessed Land?"

Baiyu also shook his head.

That woman's strength certainly wasn't just at the Grandmaster Realm. Could it be because she's a native?
