Making his new weapon was a long process.

The first step involved creating alloys from the cold- and lightning-attuned tals he’d gathered. Though this thod wasn’t as good as naturally occurring thundersnow materials, he simply didn’t have access to those—and likely wouldn’t while he remained on Earth.

He’d heard so scattered reports of naturally occurring second-rank materials, but that was all. Even these third-rank materials were simply already presented in this dinsion Audumbla had left him, but if he’d ever get the chance to work with fourth-rank materials, they’d have to have been left behind by the previous inhabitants of this world.

Still, this would be a big improvent on his current weapon. He’d been using this lightning-attuned backup hamr for the longest ti, occasionally brute-forcing his ice, thundersnow, and spatial abilities through it, but this always reduced their power. The main reasons he hadn’t made himself a new one before were a lack of ti and the vain hope of coming across so thundersnow materials.

As he worked, he glanced at the spatial, bracelet-type weapon lying on a table behind him. Though he’d not found any thundersnow materials, he’d found another reason to finally make himself a new weapon...

With the alloys done, it was ti for the true work to begin. First, he made the weapon’s head. At first glance, there was little aesthetic difference between the new and old weapons. It was the classic warhamr, sized for a long handle to be gripped with two hands, flat on one side to crunch bones with, and filed down to a dangerous point on the other side.

At second glance, however, the decorations were far more intricate. Runes and sigils circled the weapon in a delicate dance. The flat side depicted the symbol of himself and Elora—the howling wolf’s head with fairy wings—ensuring that symbol would be the last thing his enemies saw before they were smashed to dust.

Additionally, he created a set of strange grooves running along the width and depth of the head. It started with two grooves on either side of a much deeper groove that would hold the handle, and then circled up and around the entire square head. The line of grooves ran right along the edge of where the hamr started angling down into the puncturing half.

When the head was done, he put it away with a satisfied grin, before starting on the next part: the handle. The forging part was easy—physically, it just had to be a long staff—but the harder part was ensuring the sigils and runes would seamlessly connect to those in the hamr.

When he was almost done, he suddenly grinned up at Astrid—wiping sweat from his brow as he did—and beckoned her over. "Co!" he panted lightly. "You were instruntal, so you should put your signature on it!"

Astrid blinked. During these hours of forging, she wasn’t constantly paying attention. Though she was curious at tis, she also spent plenty of monts training, thinking to herself, or simply being bored. Now she was pulled from her thoughts and needed a mont to recollect herself.

"Oh?" she finally muttered, releasing her hold on the forge to walk over to him. "What do you an?"

Erik shrugged with a casual grin. "You know how artists put their signature on their work, right? Well, this is the sa thing!" He beckoned her again. "Co! Let show you how."

The fiery-haired vampire grew a little excited and paid rapt attention to what he was doing. "I’ve already put my signature on the hamr," he explained, alluding to the symbol placed on the flat part. "So I figured you’d get the handle."

Astrid nodded gladly. Though a part of her wondered if she’d done enough to warrant that, she was far too excited knowing Erik’s weapon would carry her signature.

But... now she had to actually design a signature. It took her a mont, though not a long one. With a grin, she followed his instructions, using sigils to carve her new signature on the very butt of the weapon.

When she was done, Erik smirked at what she’d created. On the butt of his weapon now shone a small orange sun... but it had a slightly open mouth, showing two vampire fangs dripping with blood.

"I like it," he chucked, much to Astrid’s delight.

Finally, he heated the upper tip of the handle to a point just before lting, and then shoved it into the large groove placed in the exact centre of gravity of the hamr head. As the handle cooled and welded to the head, Erik was furiously weaving magic with his hands to aid the process and ensure the sigils and runes were properly connected.

Finally, the base hamr was done. Smiling proudly, Erik took up the weapon to give it a few swings.

Woosh Woosh

It glided through the air with as much elegance as you could expect from a hamr. Sending his thundersnow energy surging through the weapon imdiately felt ten tis smoother. A vision of Edda’s skull splattering like a waterlon against this hamr suddenly swam through his head. Fury and desire rose for a mont... but he wasn’t done yet.

"So, now what...?" Astrid obliviously interrupted his thoughts as she looked thoughtfully at the spatial weapon. "Didn’t you want to fuse this thing in sohow?"

Ripped from his thoughts, Erik blinked for a mont, then smiled lightly. "Right..." he nodded, and walked over with hamr in hand. First, he placed the hamr head back into the fire.

"Obviously, I can’t lt this bracelet," he explained, taking it into his hand and inspecting it closely, before chuckling wryly. "I an, I don’t even know what this thing is made of."

"But I don’t need to," he continued, now walking back to the forge, where Astrid returned to stoking the fire as she listened to him. "After all, this isn’t a large sword. It’s a collection of small beads, and there’s no reason it can’t continue existing in its current form. The important parts are the sigils and runes inside it!"
