Never desire a man who doesn’t belong to you; one wrong step, and every step thereafter is wrong...

Yan He dug her nails deep into her palm, no longer feeling any pain, her whole being numb.

"Miss, what’s wrong?" The maid looked at her with concern.

Taking a deep breath, Yan He turned around: "You can go out, let be alone for a while."

The maid carefully closed the door and left.

After an unknown amount of ti, Shu Tiancheng walked into the room and saw the frail figure sitting by the bed, he sighed.

"Yan’er, it’s Grandpa who let you down."

"Grandpa did nothing wrong." Nor did I, but who was wrong? She no longer wanted to think about it.

Shu Tiancheng felt imnse regret and remorse; how did the granddaughter he cherished in the palm of his hand since childhood beco like this? The last thing he wanted to see was her tears.

"Yan’er, don’t worry, no matter what it takes, I will make sure you achieve your desires." Shu Tiancheng made up his mind.

He had only one daughter, apart from Yan He, he had no other relatives, so he poured all his efforts and hopes into Yan He.

On the way back, Zhuang Xiyue answered a call, hung up, and said to Yun Ya: "Later, I’ll take you to attend a gathering. If you don’t want to go, just let know."

Yun Ya smiled and said: "Gaining more knowledge with Aunt Zhuang is always good."

Zhuang Xiyue smiled and held her hand: "Don’t worry, these people are all noblewon I’m quite familiar with and are easy to get along with."

Yun Ya nodded gently.

The car stopped in front of a high-end tea restaurant, and a doorman respectfully approached to open the car door. Zhuang Xiyue, holding Yun Ya’s hand, stepped out of the car and saw a tea restaurant situated at the street corner, with two floors of floor-to-ceiling windows creating a simple yet high-end ambiance.

The two walked into the store; at this ti, there weren’t many guests, only two or three scattered on the first floor. Zhuang Xiyue seed to be a regular, as the waiter skillfully led them upstairs to the second floor.

The second floor appeared much more upscale compared to the first, the booths offering a high level of privacy. As soon as they stepped onto the second floor, a noble lady waved at Zhuang Xiyue: "Yueyue, over here."

The noblewoman, around forty years old, wore a pure white fox fur coat, styled her hair in an elegant updo, and wore exquisite makeup. Though not particularly beautiful, her grace and charm truly stood out. Opposite her sat two equally well-dressed noblewon who stood up imdiately upon seeing Zhuang Xiyue enter.

Zhuang Xiyue, pulling her, approached: "An Ying."

The woman nad An Ying discreetly glanced at Yun Ya and warmly smiled: "This must be Yun Ya, right? Her looks and aura are indeed one in a million; you won’t find another like her in Capital City."

Yun Ya shyly smiled, and Zhuang Xiyue said: "This is Mrs. Mo, you can call her Aunt An. These are Mrs. Zhao and Mrs. Huo."

Yun Ya greeted each of them.

Mrs. Zhao was nad Zhao Ling, Mrs. Huo was nad Lin Shu, and along with An Ying, they were Zhuang Xiyue’s close friends. Especially An Ying, who had been close friends with Zhuang Xiyue since childhood, later marrying Mo Chao’an, whose family was considered a second-tier family in Capital City.

After sitting down, An Ying raised her hand to call the waiter, "You’re still having a mocha; what about Yun Ya, what do you like to drink?"

Yun Ya softly replied: "A glass of plain water."

An Ying glanced at her a few tis, handed the nu to the waiter: "One mocha and a glass of plain water, and bring a few of your new-style pastries."

After the waiter left, An Ying smiled and said: "I heard about yesterday already, congratulations Yueyue, you’re about to beco a grandmother."

"It’s still early," Zhuang Xiyue’s eyes were filled with laughter.

"Early? Your Yan Song must be twenty by now, in ancient tis kids were already running around by then, it’s not early at all. You’re lucky not to worry, unlike my son who never stays ho, stressing out so much that I’ve gotten a few gray hairs." An Ying said while glancing at Yun Ya: "How old are you now, Yun Ya?"

Yun Ya sat obediently beside Zhuang Xiyue and upon hearing the question, replied: "Eighteen."

"Eighteen, huh, not too young then. I’ve heard Yueyue ntion you countless tis before, and now I finally get to see you in person. No wonder Yueyue likes you so much, I only wish I’d t you sooner, or else it wouldn’t have been Yan Song’s turn. I’d have snatched you for my Yaoyao..."

Yun Ya subtly furrowed her brows; although the comnt felt slightly uncomfortable, looking at An Ying smiling so warmly and back at Zhuang Xiyue, who was also all smiles.

"You always love to compete with , stealing my toys and snacks as a child, and now wanting to steal my daughter-in-law. Toys and snacks I can let go of, but a daughter-in-law is absolutely impossible." Zhuang Xiyue’s tone was a jest among friends.
