Yun Ya finished her bowl of noodles cleanly, not even leaving a drop of soup. She didn’t care for delicacies like abalones and seafood; she only liked the simple bowl of noodles made by Brother Yan, filled with happiness.

Yun Ya got out of bed and walked around the room to help digest. Yan Song tidied the dishes, and Ah Yun ca in and took them away.

"Brother Yan, I want to visit Great-grandfather later; will you co with ?"

"Sure." Yan Song agreed gladly.

"Let’s visit Aunt Zhuang first."

Yan Song said nothing, finding a down jacket for her to wear. Yun Ya was bundled up like a penguin. She had never worn sothing so thick in her entire life.

The northern weather was too harsh. Perhaps she was a southerner and not used to such weather.

After only two days, she felt sowhat fatigued and couldn’t help but lean against his chest. "Brother Yan, I like the warm spring of the South. It’s too cold here; I really want to find a shell to hide in and never co out."

Yan Song held her hands, finding them cold so quickly, and rubbed them gently. "After the New Year, I’ll accompany you back to Jiangzhou."

"But don’t you have work? Is it okay for you to accompany back?" She truly didn’t want to stay in the Capital City; too many people and issues, and most importantly, the weather was both cold and dry—nothing like the comfort of Jiangzhou.

Yan Song pursed his lips and said in a low voice, "I’ll apply to transfer back to Jiangzhou."

"Won’t it affect your work?"

"No." He smiled, gently caressing her long hair. "I promised I’d never leave you again."

Yun Ya sighed, nestled in his arms, and counted on her fingers, "There’s still more than half a month until New Year. At least until the fifteenth before we can leave. That’s fifteen days. But just thinking of it, I’ve promised Aunt Zhuang to stay a few more days, leaving like this would be a bit inappropriate, and more importantly, hehe...."

Yun Ya laughed, "Aunt Zhuang said she would host our engagent ceremony in a month, announcing to the world that you are mine. Of course, I can’t leave."

Yan Song gave her a sidelong glance with a smile and carried her out the door.

Yun Ya struggled a bit, "I’ll walk by myself." So Yan Song held her hand instead. They went to Zhuang Xiyue’s room first. Zhuang Xiyue was showing the calligraphy Yun Ya had written to Yan Nanmo. Yan Nanmo had a high opinion of it, sharing much the sa sentint as Zhuang Xiyue, but he thought deeper—the writing was filled with a sense of nace, suggesting a depth of hatred in the child’s heart.

"One day, I’ll take her to et my father. Father likes talented children, and Yun Ya is so outstanding; he’ll definitely like her." Zhuang Xiyue carefully rolled up the calligraphy, planning to have it frad later.

"Yes, the two are getting engaged. It’s ti to take her to et the parents. Among all the children, our parents love Ah Song the most. For Ah Song to marry a wife, the parents must first see her."

Zhuang Xiyue flitted through the calendar, searching for an auspicious date. "Let’s settle on January eighteenth—a day suitable for marriages and weddings, an excellent date. I’ll start the arrangents, preparing for the engagent, to make it a grand event."

Yan Nanmo pondered for a mont, "It’s just an engagent. Better to keep it low-key. It’s never too late to have a grand wedding later."

Zhuang Xiyue gave him a look and nodded, "Alright, we’ll just send invitations to relatives and friends; other unrelated parties can be left out."

The Yan Family, thriving amidst prosperity, truly needed to keep a low profile at this ti.

Yet Zhuang Xiyue didn’t want Yun Ya to feel aggrieved, though there was no choice, with plans to compensate during the wedding later.

"There’s one thing I need to tell you. Elder Shu has been putting on airs, insisting Ah Song marry his granddaughter. I rejected him outright, leaving no room for negotiation. It’s really infuriating; he’s gone senile." Zhuang Xiyue fud at the thought, questioning Elder Shu’s presumption.

Yan Nanmo chuckled, "Elder Shu has had too smooth a journey these years. I’ll talk to him, and if he remains stubborn, there are plenty of people eager to take his place."

Zhuang Xiyue looked at him with concern, "Won’t it cause you any trouble?"

Yan Nanmo raised an eyebrow, his enchanting peach blossom eyes glittering under the light. "You’re worried about ?"

Zhuang Xiyue glared at him, "Of course, who else would I worry about?"

Yan Nanmo pulled her into his arms, "Don’t worry, at this position, there’s hardly anyone who can shake it."

"It’s precisely because of this that I’m even more afraid." Zhuang Xiyue sighed.

Yan Nanmo gently bit her neck, "Don’t be afraid. Whatever happens, I’ll ensure the safety of you and our child."

Zhuang Xiyue pushed him slightly, "Alright, stop being so improper."
