The pain was so intense that I couldn’t even lift my head, tearing at my nerves, leaving utterly dazed.
"It’s okay, the doctor said with so rest you’ll recover soon. Don’t worry, everything will be fine," she reassured, not daring to let Ah Ci know, fearing how he might distress over it.
"Really?" ng Junci asked doubtfully.
"Why would Mom lie to you? Tell , how did you get injured? I’m well aware of your riding skills, how could you possibly fall off a horse for no reason? There must be sothing suspicious. Tell Mom clearly, she won’t let you suffer like this for nothing."
ng Junci imdiately thought of Ji Yunya, but she dared not speak out, lacking direct evidence, especially since she had dealt with the caras around the racetrack beforehand. Even if evidence was sought, it wouldn’t be found.
Seeing her hesitation, Lady ng asked, "Was it Ji Yunya?"

Lady ng reminded herself to stay calm, but the thought of Ah Ci possibly needing an amputation and Zhuang Xiyue’s attitude ignited her anger, as if to say, what are you boasting about? Without Yan Nanmo, who are you really? What gives you the right to flaunt in front of her?
"Our Ah Ci had an accident while racing with Miss Ji, your Miss Ji ca out unscathed, but my Ah Ci is lying in there, and the doctor is saying amputation might be necessary. Now, tell , shouldn’t I suspect?"
"Lianlian, calm down." ng Shujing urged Lady ng.
Zhuang Xiyue straightened her back, sneering, "So Lady ng is implying that Miss ng’s accident is irrevocably linked to our Yun Ya?"
"The facts, you know them best, marrying such a woman, you’ll only suffer down the road."
"I ca today to talk to you about this matter." Zhuang Xiyue flung a stack of docunts from her bag, letting them scatter onto Lady ng’s face. Zhuang Xiyue’s voice turned icy, "I haven’t even held you accountable yet, and you’re already playing the victim. Do you really think you can push around Zhuang Xiyue? This is what your good daughter did. If it weren’t for our Yun Ya’s blessed fortune, being protected by the heavens for her good deeds, she’d be the one lying in there today. Evildoing leads to retribution."
Zhuang Xiyue was genuinely infuriated. Had Lady ng been reasonable, things might not have turned so ugly, but now that she tried to fra Yun Ya, courtesy was off the table.
Never before had Lady ng been so shad, her body trembled with rage, "What do you an, explain yourself clearly."

Her tone abruptly turned grave, exuding a formidable aura, causing a tightening chill in one’s heart.
