The son and daughter were already like that, but Pei Ying still managed to stay calm. Zhuang Xiyue thought to herself that this woman was even more ruthless than she imagined.
"Oh, really?" A teasing voice suddenly ca from outside the door, and then a tall figure gradually approached.
The person who entered was Yan Nangui.
His eyes seed to carry a faint smile, but deep inside hid a dark whirlpool, as if capable of drawing people in.
Xiang’er shuddered, first with joy, then she fearfully lowered her head.
"Sister-in-law is right. Just a little girl—where would she get the courage to plot against ? I think most likely soone else is pulling the strings behind her. Who could that be, I wonder...?"
Pei Ying’s eyes flickered slightly, and she said, "Xiao Qi, I’ve already investigated. It was this girl’s delusion. She first drugged your tea and then lit incense in your room. Together, they’d temporarily confuse you. You were lucky to escape it, but it was hard on your eldest sister and fourth brother. Maybe it’s my consequence for not recognizing people clearly..."

His smile was like opium, full of allure, and Xiang’er’s gaze gradually beca hazy.

The dagger was pushed further in, and Xiang’er rolled her eyes and collapsed to the ground with a crash.
Yan Nangui withdrew the dagger, took out a tissue, and gently wiped the bloodstain on the blade. His expression carried a hint of casual languor, yet inexplicably sent shivers down one’s spine.
Those words sounded like exoneration for Pei Ying, but they were filled with sarcasm, serving as a warning sign—Pei Ying understood, and so did Zhuang Xiyue.
She thought secretly that without her needing to act, Pei Ying would not co to a good end either. This Xiao Qi was more terrifying than she imagined.
The hand under Pei Ying’s sleeve clenched into a tight fist. Xiang’er was already dead, the blood flowing beneath more and more, that color so glaring.
"You... Murder is against the law." Pei Ying’s voice trembled, yet she tried hard to maintain calm.
Yan Nangui curled his lip and raised an eyebrow, "So mother should call the police to arrest , or else mother is harboring a murderer, and that’s punishable by prison too."
Pei Ying’s hand trembled with anger, but having seen all kinds of storms, she quickly cald down and said blandly, "Mother wronged you in this matter, and it will never happen again. No matter how she erred, it’s still a life; what you did was too reckless."

Yan Nangui continued to wipe the dagger blade and raised an eyebrow at Zhuang Xiyue, "Sister-in-law, don’t you agree?"

Passing by Xiang’er, he glanced sideways, her eyes wide open in death, still staring in disbelief.

The room was empty and desolate, the draught carrying a hint of eerie odor. Pei Ying sat in the chair, not knowing how long she had been sitting. The corpse on the ground had already started to stiffen.
