Thinking of what the person said just now, the elder brother’s gaze turned deep and somber as he frowned at the girl in the bushes, his brows gradually furrowing.
"Big brother, on your head..." the person beside him pointed at his head, speaking in disbelief.
The man raised his hand to touch his head, feeling nothing, but he guessed that a red dot had suddenly appeared at the center of his forehead, following him wherever he went.
A chill surged from the soles of his feet upward, causing his legs to tremble, yet he quickly made a decision in his heart.
"Don’t worry about anything; just follow our earlier plan and take this person away...."
Though the two younger mbers had doubts and fears, they trusted their big brother unconditionally, and upon hearing this, they quickly took out a pre-prepared sack, put it over the woman, and hoisted her onto their shoulder, ready to escape. They had already scoped out the location before arriving, but having been delayed for so ti, they feared they couldn’t leave safely. Curiously, however, they left the hotel garden unobstructed, got into the car, started it up, and drove away, getting farther and farther from the hotel, still not fully processing what happened.
Once the car disappeared, a figure slowly erged from the darkness, nonchalantly blowing the gun’s barrel, with a cold smile tugging at the corner of their lips.
"Why use a sledgehamr to crack a nut?"
Yi Peilan was truly an awkward girl; she perfectly embodied the idiom "saying one thing but aning another." Whether she liked or disliked sothing, she always expressed the opposite. For instance, although she actually acknowledged Ji Yunya in her heart, she constantly belittled her with her words, always finding new ways to insult. No matter what she said, Yun Ya always responded with a calm and indifferent deanor, never taking her words to heart. One has to admit that dealing with such people was Yun Ya’s forte, and soon Yi Peilan admitted defeat.
"I’m curious, how do you stay so composed? If soone pointed at your nose and cursed you, wouldn’t you talk back?" Yi Peilan asked curiously.
Yun Ya pressed her lips into a faint smile, epitomizing serenity and grace: "Engaging in a shouting match with a dull person is a very dull and stupid thing. With that ti, I could have probably solved a difficult calculus problem that’s been bothering for days."
Yi Peilan smacked her lips, only now realizing the gap between them, "Alright, so in your eyes I’m that dull and stupid person."
"You’re not." Yun Ya said with a sincere smile, which always made people feel her genuineness, "You are an interesting person, at least that’s how it is for ."
Yi Peilan smiled, then raised her eyebrows, "An interesting person? Is that a good complint?"
The two of them exchanged a smile, everything understood without words.
"Miss Ji, I’m Shangguan Qing." Shangguan Qing smiled as she extended her hand to Yunya, who nodded, "Hello Miss Shangguan."
Su Xiang walked over and said with a smile, "Miss Ji, I’m Su Xiang."
Yun Ya raised an eyebrow slightly, "You’re the niece from Sixth Aunt’s family, Miss Su, forgive my lack of respect."
"Just call Xiang’er." Su Xiang said generously with a smile.
Yun Ya smiled and nodded, "Feel free to visit the Yan Family in the future, Sixth Aunt is currently expecting, and she can’t attend such occasions."
Young girls could easily chat themselves into good terms, and soon they beca inseparable; Shangguan Qing affectionately called out "Sister Yun Ya," hastily building a rapport.
Yi Peilan pointed in a certain direction and said to Yun Ya, "See that, that woman is the one hiding the deepest."
Dongfang Yi was holding a wine glass, chatting and laughing with a noblewoman, seemingly unaffected by anything else.
Yun Ya smiled faintly, casually saying, "No matter how deep she hides, there will always be a day she shows herself."
Yi Peilan laughed.
At that mont, a young man in a suit strode into the banquet hall. At first glance, he was an elite, holding an exquisitely wrapped gift box. After entering, he kept his eyes straight ahead, yet no one dared to ignore his presence.
"Who is that man?" soone unacquainted whispered.
"You don’t even recognize Secretary Zhong? He’s Mr. Qin’s most trusted secretary, and Mr. Qin trusts him the most. But why would he co to a place like this?"
"Secretary Zhong." Yan Nanmo approached with large strides. Secretary Zhong smiled and handed over the gift, "This is a gift from Mr. Qin to wish Young Master Yan and Miss Ji a happy engagent, just a small token."
"Mr. Qin is too kind." Zhuang Xiyue received the gift, and regardless of what was inside, at least it showed the other party’s attitude. From now on, no one would dare to belittle Yun Ya’s status. The smile on Zhuang Xiyue’s lips grew warr.
