The two of them had a al, and Yun Ya first sent Ning Zijin ho. As they passed by a shopping mall, Ning Zijin ntioned she wanted to look at a mother-and-baby store. She usually spent most of her ti cooped up at ho, seldom going out, so having soone accompany her was a rare opportunity not to be missed.
"Then today I’ll risk my life to accompany you."
Yun Ya put on sunglasses and made a simple disguise before going to the mall with Ning Zijin. Not far behind them were four bodyguards—two sent by Ye Feng to protect Ning Zijin, and two who were Yun Ya’s people.
Ning Zijin had a fondness for baby clothes and couldn’t put them down. "They’re so adorable; what do I do if I want every one of them?"
Yun Ya shook her head and smiled. How unlike Master Ning, who once dominated Jiangzhou’s underworld, was this woman so full of maternal love?
What can change a woman, apart from love, is a child...
Yun Ya looked at those finely crafted and adorable baby clothes and shoes. "Your brother-in-law has plenty of money; at worst, we could buy the entire store."
Ning Zijin picked this and that, loving each piece so much she decided to buy them all in the end.
"Yun Ya, see anything you like? I’ll buy it for you."
Yun Ya pointed to herself. "?"
Ning Zijin winked playfully at her. "Who knows, maybe you already have a baby in your belly, given how much Master Yan loves you...."
Yun Ya’s cheeks flushed red.
Seeing Yun Ya embarrassed, Ning Zijin laughed with interest. "In today’s open society, besides envy, what else could others possibly say?"
"I’m not talking to you." Yun Ya tossed the clothes aside and ran outside.
"Hahaha." Ning Zijin laughed. This girl seed gentle and calm, yet she had such a charming side.
Yun Ya ran to a quiet spot to compose herself, imagining a future baby with Brother Yan, and smiled with her eyes downcast, resting a hand on her belly.
She had always been taking the prescription from Doctor Hua; it should be effective.
But now wasn’t the ti for children, as there were still countless dangers lurking. She had to eliminate all those threats before she could make other plans.
Ning Zijin settled the bill and ca out carrying large and small bags, which the bodyguards quickly took over.
Ning Zijin linked arms with Yun Ya and pointed to the third floor. "Let’s check out the won’s clothing store."
Yun Ya eyed her slightly protruding belly. "Do you think you can fit into anything now?"
Ning Zijin snorted lightly. "Stop being a downer."
"Forget it, I’m tired of shopping too; let’s just head ho."
The two were about to take the elevator down from the second floor when suddenly there was a commotion from the third floor.
"Don’t co any closer! If you take another step, I’ll kill her." A ruthless, desperate voice ca from above.
Yun Ya looked up to see a man wearing a baseball cap, holding a young girl’s neck as he slowly pushed her towards the railing. The fruit knife in his hand was near the girl’s carotid artery.
The elevator entrance corresponded with the railing on the third floor, and from Yun Ya’s position, she could clearly see the panic and fear on the girl’s face.
Ning Zijin frowned slightly. "How co we always run into these situations?"
The mall security didn’t dare to act recklessly and could only try to reason verbally, while the police were on their way. Bystanders gathered around, so looking shocked, so entertained, and others took out their phones to take pictures and record videos.
"Get the manager of your mall out here to see , or I’ll kill her right now." The man said viciously, pressing the knife another inch forward, causing blood to ooze from the girl’s delicate neck.
"Help... help..." The girl whimpered weakly, her face pale.
"I... I am the manager of the mall, please don’t act rashly." A middle-aged woman in a mall staff uniform stepped forward, speaking with concern.
If sothing happened to soone in the mall, she as the manager wouldn’t be able to escape responsibility.
"You’re the mall manager?" the man asked.
The woman nodded vigorously, pointing at the badge on her chest. "My na is Yang Hong, I’m the manager here. Whatever the issue, please, don’t act impulsively...."
"Now, broadcast my ssage. Announce what I say so that the entire mall can hear it."
Yang Hong naturally complied with whatever he said. "Alright, you speak, our broadcast can cover even the square outside."
"Lili, I love you, won’t you co back? I truly can’t bear the pain of losing you... please co back to ." The man declared passionately.
Another man driven mad by love.
"Okay, I’m calling the broadcast room right now." Yang Hong took out her phone, signaling to the man. "I’m calling now; it’ll be broadcast shortly."
