Early the next morning, Ah Yun ca back with breakfast and saw Yun Ya sitting on the sofa, her gaze a bit dazed, "Miss is up."
Yun Ya rubbed her neck. After sleeping on the sofa all night, it felt like her whole body was about to fall apart.
"Where’s Yan Nankun?" Yun Ya couldn’t even be bothered to call him Uncle Six anymore.
"He’s still standing at the door, hasn’t left all night." Ah Yun said as she set out the chopsticks.
Yun Ya washed her face and ca out, taking a bite of a small stead bun. After eating two bites, she saw the person in the hospital bed’s eyelashes tremble a bit, and then slowly open her eyes.
Yun Ya imdiately stood up and walked towards her, "Aunt Six, you’ve finally woken up."
Those eyes were empty, lost their usual brilliance, lifeless.
"Yun Ya, it’s you." Su Yu’s voice was hoarse, she coughed once, and Yun Ya hastily said, "Don’t speak." She poured water and fed her spoonful by spoonful.
Moistening her throat, Su Yu’s voice regained its usual smoothness. She looked up at Yun Ya and smiled, "Sorry to trouble you, thank you for your hard work."
No ntion of the child, nor of her own body, as calm as if nothing had ever happened.
Yet this extraordinary calmness began to make Yun Ya uneasy, but since Su Yu didn’t make a move, she dared not act rashly.
"Aunt Six, you’re acting distant." Yun Ya smiled as she tucked her in, "Is there anywhere you feel uncomfortable?"
Su Yu shook her head with a smile.
But in reality, her hand under the blanket had her nails digging deeply into her palm, it hurt... it hurt all over... it was as if her soul was being wrenched away.
The palm was peeling and bleeding, but all that couldn’t compare to the pain in her heart.
"Aunt Six, are you hungry?"
Su Yu gently shook her head.
Yun Ya chatted with her for quite a while, seeing her emotions stable, yet she avoided all ntion of the child, which was too abnormal. People need to release their emotions; suppressing it too long can lead to problems.
She opened her mouth, unsure how to broach the topic.
Su Yu seed to know what Yun Ya wanted to say and smiled, "I’m fine."
Yet behind that smile, there was a desolate sense of ashes to the heart.
Yun Ya sighed.
Others’ persuasion was useless; she had to slowly co to terms with it herself.
At this ti, Yan Nankun’s voice ca from outside the door. He wanted to force his way in but was blocked by the bodyguards, the noise growing louder and louder. Yun Ya looked at Su Yu’s calm face, about to get up and go out, when suddenly she spoke: "Let him in."
Yun Ya glanced at her, stood up, and went out.
Yan Nankun, having received permission, impatiently pushed the door open. Seeing the woman lying in the hospital bed, he suddenly dared not step forward, hovering in place, appearing sowhat at a loss for what to do.
"Yuyu... I’m sorry..." His lips moved for a long ti, and in the end, reluctantly uttered five words.
Su Yu looked at him quietly, the light in her eyes no longer held any usual brilliance, not even a trace of affection. This calmness suddenly made him uneasy; he hurried forward a few steps, wanting to take her hand, only to find her hand chillingly cold, freezing his heart into a violent tremor.
