The Golden Arrow Envoy nodded, sat cross-legged on the floor, took out a golden bell from his bosom, and gently shook it. The bell emitted a crisp sound, seeming different from other bell sounds, having a kind of ancient, lodious tone.
Qinglan backed up a few steps, standing straight out of instinct, expression respectful.
The bell sound grew faster and more urgent, making Qinglan a bit dizzy, causing her to shake her head involuntarily.
The Golden Arrow Envoy recited a sequence of spells, and his cross-legged body suddenly rose into the air, half-sitting in midair, surrounded by a ray of white light.
A sudden rumbling thunder exploded from beyond the sky, dark clouds rolled in, obscuring the clear sky, making the world seemingly descend into darkness.
The curtains flew up, dark clouds swept overhead, with an ominous hint of a mountain storm approaching.
Qinglan walked to the window, watching passersby hurrying in the street, quietly mumbling to herself how quickly the weather changed.
