The morning had passed quietly, with Yun Ya nestled in the office researching materials and making preliminary selections. Before she knew it, it was twelve o’clock.
Wei Qing asked Yun Ya what she wanted to eat, offering to get it for her, but Yun Ya put away the materials and placed them into a drawer.
"No need, I have sothing to do this afternoon, so I’m leaving early. Call if you need anything." With that, she put on her bag and left.
No sooner had Yun Ya stepped out than Pei Jinghong arrived.
Finding out that Yun Ya had already left, he couldn’t help but sigh that he was a step too late.
In the vast underground parking lot, Yun Ya walked up to a red QQ car and saw a young man with a tall stature standing beside it.
Dressed in black casual clothes, his features were sharp and cold, standing as straight as a rifle.
Yun Ya paused in her steps, quietly sizing up the newcor.
Only then did the man notice the footsteps behind him and turn around. A look of surprise flashed through his eyes as he bowed and said respectfully, "Miss, hello, my na is Du Shan, I was sent by Brother Chang."
Yun Ya tossed a set of keys to him, which Du Shan caught with ease.
"Drive."
Yun Ya opened the car door and sat down. Du Shan quickly walked around to the front of the car, pulled open the driver’s door, and climbed in.
"Where to, Miss?" Du Shan started the car and slowly backed out of the parking space, heading toward the exit.
Yun Ya glanced at her phone screen, at a ssage that had just co through.
"Jingyu Hotel."
——
Jingyu Hotel.
After Yun Ya gave the private room number, the waiter led her to the second floor.
Standing in front of the door of a private room, Yun Ya took a deep breath, her face revealing the perfect smile as she pushed the door open and entered.
Inside the room, the two n who had been talking imdiately turned their heads to look at her.
Yun Ya looked at the young man and chuckled, "Brother Ah Du."
Her gaze shifted toward the man in his late thirties sitting in the place of honor, with graying temples, as if there were ripples shimring in the depths of her eyes.
"Uncle Qin—."
The man stood up and walked over with large strides, looking Yun Ya up and down before exclaiming, "A girl changes so much as she grows. It hasn’t been long since our last eting, and Yun Ya has changed so much that Uncle Qin almost couldn’t recognize you."
Yun Ya laughed playfully, "Neither more nor less, just exactly one hundred and sixty-eight days."
Qin Du got up and pulled out a chair for Yun Ya, saying with a smile, "Please, have a seat first. We can talk while we eat."
All the dishes ordered were Yun Ya’s favorites. She turned her head to the man beside her and said, "None of them are as delicious as the ones Brother Ah Du makes."
Qin Du smiled indulgently, "I’d like to cook for you for the rest of my life, if only you’d give the chance."
Yun Ya acted as if she hadn’t heard his words, the smile on her face unchanged.
Qin Du’s eyes dimd slightly.
Qin Zhuan glanced at the two of them and sighed softly before saying to Yun Ya with a smile, "Your Brother Ah Du’s life is as simple as that."
Yun Ya glanced at Qin Du and chuckled lightly, "The ancients said that a gentleman should stay away from the kitchen, but I think otherwise. A true gentleman should be able to grace the halls as well as cook in the kitchen."
Qin Zhuan couldn’t help but laugh, "You must be looking for a husband."
Yun Ya nodded, "Exactly, my future husband must et this criterion."
Particular about food, she mused on Brother Yan’s cooking skills, planning to test him soti. How could a boyfriend who can’t cook be a good husband?
Seeing the gleam in Yun Ya’s eyes, Qin Du frowned subconsciously. He felt there was sothing different about Yun Ya but couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was.
He had the illusion that he was about to lose sothing but helplessly couldn’t grasp it.
Before Qin Du could ponder further, Qin Zhuan followed up with, "How have you been doing at the Yun Family these past few days?"
Yun Ya’s eyes brimd with mirth, vibrant and impish, "Quite well. I eat when it’s ti to eat, sleep when it’s ti to sleep, Watching those people fuming with rage but helpless is quite satisfying. But, this is far from enough."
She looked up with a smile at the man across, "Uncle Qin, you’ll help , won’t you?"
He loved Ji Lanyi so much that ten years hadn’t been enough to erase her from his heart; if anything, he cherished her mory more as ti went by.
So, he couldn’t refuse the daughter of Ji Lanyi.
Not as Ji Yunya, but as the daughter of Ji Lanyi, that identity was sothing Qin Zhuan couldn’t resist.
She could make any request, and he would agree.
