Not far away, a man stood tall and slender, his handso features adorned with a hint of a smile, yet a bloodthirsty chill flickered in the depths of his eyes.
"Yun Shen..." Recognizing the man, the old man clenched his teeth in anger.
He should have guessed it was him.
"Uncle Gao, how have you been?" Yun Shen curled his lips into a slight grin.
"Don’t call uncle, I don’t have a wicked nephew like you," Gao You said coldly.
"You better release my son, or I will never let you off the hook," Gao You said fiercely, a man of high status and imnse authority throughout his life.
Yun Shen raised an eyebrow, "I hear Uncle Gao was blessed with a son later in life and adores this precious child to no end. It seems the rumors are indeed true."
"Cut the crap. What exactly do you want?" Gao You demanded coldly.
"I don’t want anything, just for Uncle Gao to spare a way out," Yun Shen’s gaze was playful, but his expression didn’t show the slightest bit of pleading.
"Hmph, you’ve done so many evil deeds, even the heavens won’t give you a way out. What good will begging do? You’re delusional. If you co clean now, the court might consider a lighter sentence, but if you don’t, prepare to rot in jail," Gao You sneered.
"It seems Uncle Gao didn’t understand the aning of what I just said." Yun Shen glanced at him, and that mocking gaze caused Gao You’s heart to skip a beat with a bad premonition.
He had always been careful not to underestimate Yun Shen. Did he still have a trick up his sleeve?
"I’m asking you for a way out because I’m going to corner you," Yun Shen clarified.
"What do you an...?" Gao You asked warily.
Yun Shen smiled, gestured with his hand, and Liang Yu, who had been standing behind him all along, approached with a docunt in hand.
"Sign your na on this docunt and press your fingerprint, and I’ll release your son, otherwise..." He left his threat unfinished.
Gao You opened the docunt and skimd through it, staring at Yun Shen in disbelief: "You actually..."

Gao You’s hand trembled, nearly dropping the docunt on the ground.

With trembling fingers, he signed his na on the final line of the docunt.
Liang Yu passed him the ink pad, "President Gao, the more you hesitate, the more Young Master Gao suffers."
He sighed and pressed his thumb onto it.
Yun Shen said, "As a smart man, President Gao should know what to do next. I won’t disturb your father-son reunion anymore." With that, he got up and left the warehouse.
Gao You collapsed to the ground as if he had aged years in an instant, his eyes vacant.
The rope slowly lowered, and Gao You imdiately crawled over, removing the gag from his son’s mouth and untying his hands and feet.
The boy didn’t imdiately fling himself into his father’s arms for comfort. Instead, he glared fiercely in the direction of the doorway, his hands clenched into fists.

The boy shook his head and turned to Gao You, "Dad, is Yun Shen the president of Yun’s?"

The boy looked down, uttered a soft "hmm," but a flash of coldness quickly swept through his eyes.

It was not despair, but hope.

Liang Yu pondered for a mont and then said, "President Gao has connections with the Shunli people. I asked soone to follow up on the investigation and uncovered a shocking secret."
