"Let’s go," Yun Ya took his hand, and they walked out the door one after the other, their hands tightly clasped together.
Hand in hand, they resembled an affectionate couple, strolling on the community road, breathing freely in the air, their spirits involuntarily leaping with joy.
Every ti they encountered soone, Yun Ya would lower her head and feign compliance, but as soon as they were alone, she would start bouncing around like a little swallow, her ability to switch gears so quickly left Yan Song amazed.
"Brother Yan, Aunt Zhuang left this morning and I went to the airport to see her off. She even said she would take to Capital City to play soti, and she ntioned in two years she would take to Capital City and..." Yun Ya suddenly cut herself off, nearly revealing too much.
Yan Song listened with interest but saw that Yun Ya abruptly stopped talking and looked at her with curiosity, "What’s wrong? Why would my mom take you to Capital City?"
Yun Ya hesitated as she considered whether to tell him or not, guessing that Brother Yan would be very angry, realizing it was her fault. If Brother Yan wanted to scold her, then so be it; however, they had only three days together, and she didn’t want to spend them arguing. After much hesitation, she chose to keep it a secret, trusting that Yan Ke would find a way to convince Aunt Zhuang, so it was better not to unnecessarily upset Brother Yan.
"She’s inviting to play in Capital City. It’s such a big city, and I haven’t really had the chance to explore it," Yun Ya said cheerfully.
Yan Song tapped her nose, "You, when the ti cos, I’ll be your tour guide and make sure you have a great ti in Capital City."
"You’re saying it now, ’cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye,’ whoever changes is a puppy," Yun Ya childish extended her pinky finger, and Yan Song laughed helplessly, "You win."
Yun Ya would hug his arm one mont, then run ahead the next, buzzing with boundless energy, while Yan Song watched her with a tender smile on his lips, so touching under the night sky.
Suddenly, Yun Ya ran back and leapt onto his back, her arms wrapping tightly around his neck, nearly choking him.
Luckily, he was tall and had a solid build; otherwise, he would have been toppled over by Yun Ya’s unexpected jump.
"Brother Yan, carry on your back."
Yan Song, resigned to his fate, supported her thighs and carried her, "As you command, my little Princess."
Yun Ya lay on his back, watching their overlapping shadows flicker beneath the street lamps, closing her eyes in contentnt.
Their hearts pressed close together, savoring the silence and warmth of the mont.
"Brother Yan."
"Hmm?"
"Brother Yan."
"Yeah."
"Brother Yan," she seed to have endless ’Brother Yans’ to call out, each the sa yet different, with the sa tone but mixed with varied emotions, all equally intense and rich.
"Yeah," he endlessly responded without getting annoyed, his long legs taking firm steps, carrying his beloved girl toward the unknown darkness. Yet, with her by his side, even Hell was Heaven.
"If only we could walk like this forever," without worries, without sorrow, and without those heart-pounding dangers, just him and her, walking on forever.
How wonderful that would be.
His lips slowly curled up, his eyes shimring with a touch of tenderness like moonlight, his handso face softening his stern features with such warmth and affection.
"Okay."
That night, he carried her a long way, walking alongside the road, on and on, until Yun Ya fell asleep on his back. Suddenly waking up, she cried, "I just had a nightmare, dreaming that you left , how terrifying."
Yes, the deepest nightmare was nothing more than him leaving her. That was it.
Yan Song chuckled, "I’ve always been here, don’t be scared."
Yun Ya sniffled and then, as if rembering sothing, jumped off his back, "I said I would accompany you for dinner, after carrying so far, do you still have the energy?"
Yan Song laughed and ruffled her hair, "I have the strength to walk to the ends of the earth."
Yun Ya glared at him with a smile, "So cheesy."
She looked around, "All the restaurants are closed, you haven’t had dinner yet, what shall we do now?"
Yan Song leaned in close to her ear, "Haven’t I already said it? Just having you is enough for to feel full."
"Ah, Brother Yan, you’re so naughty..."
