Weren’t you avoiding her before? Didn’t you disguise yourself as the dicine Saint? Why are you willing to be Gao Zhou again?

Bai Ruozhu looked a bit frustrated at the handso uncle in front of her, wondering if this face was his real appearance. Maybe it’s just as fake as his dicine Saint disguise.

"Girl, is your character that bad? Why do people always want to kill you?" Gao Zhou joked with a cheeky smile, surprisingly easing Bai Ruozhu’s tension a bit.

"What do you an by ’my character is bad’? They’re just jealous of my talent, afraid that my dical skills are so good that I’ll get in the way of their evil deeds." Bai Ruozhu’s voice was soft but carried a hint of resentnt.

Gao Zhou shrank his neck, "I’ll go deal with that bunch of salted fish first."

After saying this, he dashed off to help Jianqi.

With him joining the battle, the opposing side couldn’t break through Bai Ruozhu’s dark guard’s defense circle. Not long after, Fen Jiu’s loud voice was heard from the street corner: "Who dares to harm others in broad daylight?"

After saying that, he also joined the fray, while Jiao Ling rushed over to Bai Ruozhu and asked, "Are you okay?"

"I’m fine, thank you, teacher, for your help." Bai Ruozhu shook her head. She had her doubts about Jiao Ling and the others because their appearance was too strange and secretive, and she happened to be ambushed on the way to et Jiao Ling.

But soon she thought it was impossible; if Jiao Ling and the others wanted to harm her, there were plenty of ways to do it by luring her to the inn. Why go through so much trouble?

Four of the assassins were dead, and the rest, seeing the situation wasn’t favorable, turned and fled into a nearby alley. Jianqi, already at the end of his strength, couldn’t pursue and was supported by Gao Zhou who was beside him.

"Oh dear, the young man is quite badly injured." Gao Zhou muttered.

Bai Ruozhu, holding Dengdeng, walked over and said, "We must stop the bleeding first."

Then she looked at Gao Zhou, "I’ll have to trouble you, senior."

Gao Zhou sighed, "Let’s find a more convenient place."

"Let’s go to our inn and find a room; it’s not far from here. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have heard the commotion and found out you were under attack." Jiao Ling suggested.

Bai Ruozhu nodded; this was the quickest and most convenient option.

Soon, everyone moved to the inn, and the dark guards discreetly withdrew and hid again.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t follow to treat Jianqi. She wasn’t worried about Gao Zhou’s dical skills. She gently comforted Little Dengdeng, "It’s okay now, the bad guys have been driven away."

Little Dengdeng’s big eyes twinkled, "When will there be a chanical fish?"

She was worried her son might be frightened, but he was more interested in the chanical fish.

Jiao Ling looked at Little Dengdeng with great affection, her eyes filled with a tender smile that deepened the crow’s feet at the corners of her eyes, giving her an elder’s charm.

"How about a chanicalchanism Cat? Cats eat fish; they’re even better than fish." As Jiao Ling spoke, she tossed sothing onto the ground, and it quickly transford into a chanicalchanism Cat.

Little Dengdeng’s eyes lit up, and he shook his mother’s arm excitedly, "Mom, this one moves so swiftly, it’s much better than Uncle’s chanical fish!"

From that day on, Little Dengdeng finally stopped talking about his poor Uncle Ning Yu...

The door opened, and Jianqi followed Gao Zhou out. Although his face was pale, he looked much better than before.

"Jianqi, go back and rest. Take good care of yourself and keep your wounds dry. Let others handle things for now." Bai Ruozhu said.

Jianqi knew he wasn’t in good shape and didn’t try to act tough. He nodded, signaled with a gesture, and imdiately two dark guards appeared to follow Bai Ruozhu, while he returned to the Bai Family.

While they were talking, Gao Zhou was about to sneak away. When Bai Ruozhu turned and found him gone, she imdiately exclaid "Oh no," then ran out holding Little Dengdeng.

Poor Little Dengdeng had just seen the chanicalchanism Cat and hadn’t even touched it yet when his mom picked him up and left. Even the most understanding child would be irritable at this mont.

"I want the chanicalchanism Cat, I want the chanicalchanism Cat, waa..." Little Dengdeng started crying loudly, his voice so bright that Gao Zhou, who was fleeing ahead, paused briefly.

Realizing why Little Dengdeng was crying, he resud running.

"Senior, stop right there, don’t make call you by your other na!" Bai Ruozhu shouted angrily, struggling as she chased with a child in her arms.

But Gao Zhou kept going. Bai Ruozhu saw him escaping, and after a quick thought, had no choice but to play her last card.

Gao Zhou was about to use his lightness skill to slip away when he heard a sudden "ouch" from Bai Ruozhu behind him. Instinctively, he turned his head and saw Bai Ruozhu with the child in her arms, falling to the ground, and the child crying even louder. She seed unable to get up.

This made Gao Zhou afraid to run further; he hurried back, picked up Little Dengdeng with one hand, and checked Bai Ruozhu’s pulse with the other, "How are you? Is it serious? Does your stomach hurt?"

"Senior, you knew I was pregnant, yet you made run like that? You’re so heartless!" Bai Ruozhu grabbed his arm and said quietly, "dicine Saint senior, or fellow townsman, care to explain?"

Gao Zhou withdrew his hand. Bai Ruozhu was okay, and without even checking her pulse, he could tell from her mischievous expression that she was fine. She was just acting. Why doesn’t she pursue a career in acting!

"Fine, fine, let’s find a convenient place to talk." Gao Zhou sighed.

Little Dengdeng was still crying, "I want the chanicalchanism Cat, I want the chanicalchanism Cat."

Bai Ruozhu affectionately rubbed her son’s head and said to Gao Zhou, "Look what you’ve reduced the child to. If you hadn’t run away, he’d be happily playing with his beloved chanicalchanism Cat by now."

Gao Zhou’s mouth twitched. Was that his fault?

"Let’s go back to the inn. My son is determined to play with that chanicalchanism Cat." Bai Ruozhu sighed. Her son was usually very obedient, but once he set his mind on sothing, even ten bulls couldn’t drag him back.

Gao Zhou shook off Bai Ruozhu’s grip on his arm, "Alright, I won’t run anymore. Stop pulling at ."

Then he used both hands to hold Dengdeng and comforted him gently, "Good child, Grandpa will take you to find the chanicalchanism Cat, okay?"

Dengdeng looked at him with big eyes, sniffing, "Okay, then hurry up, I haven’t even touched it yet."

Gao Zhou held Dengdeng and walked briskly ahead, forcing Bai Ruozhu to speed up to keep up, lanting that he had no consideration for a pregnant woman.

Just as they reached the inn entrance, they ran into a worried Jiao Ling. Seeing them return, she breathed a sigh of relief and wisely refrained from asking questions, simply handing the chanicalchanism Cat to Little Dengdeng, "Little one, go play."

Fen Jiu, standing next to her, seed a bit agitated but was silenced by a stern look from Jiao Ling.

Bai Ruozhu noticed everything and guessed that the chanicalchanism Cat must be very precious, and Fen Jiu wanted to remind Jiao Ling not to give it away so casually.
