The journey afterwards was quite smooth, except for Gai Yalai occasionally acting hysterically. Eventually, even the maids didn’t want to deal with her anymore. Just as they had traveled halfway, she left behind a letter and ran away again.

But when Bai Ruozhu saw the letter she left behind, she once again covered her forehead and sighed deeply: "If you don’t court death, you won’t die..."

In Gai Yalai’s letter, she accused Jiang Yichun of having forgotten his mother after getting a wife, ignoring her life and death, and said she had had enough of life here and was heading back to the Capital City to find her other two sons.

Reading the letter, Jiang Yichun casually tossed it to Lu, saying blandly, "I’m considered righteous for not shielding my family. If she wants to seek refuge with King Rui, let her be. From now on, don’t allow this person into Beiyu City."

Lu looked at Jiang Yichun in surprise, "Are you really going to do this?"

"What else can I do? She’s tried to run away more than once, and she was the one who leaked information to Prince Xue back then. Do you think I can ignore etiquette and favor her?" Jiang Yichun retorted.

Lu awkwardly rubbed his nose, "You’re right, she really went too far."

Gai Yalai’s departure didn’t affect everyone’s journey. However, Bai Ruozhu noticed that Bai Zebo seed to have sothing to say to her but was very hesitant.

"Zebo, do you have sothing to discuss with ?" When Bai Ruozhu saw Bai Zebo hesitating to leave once more, she simply called out to her young cousin.

"Sister Ruozhu, I know you’re already troubled. Sorry to bother you now," Bai Zebo scratched his head and said.

Bai Ruozhu was stunned for a mont. Why would she be troubled? Then she realized Bai Zebo thought she was upset about Gai Yalai leaving.

Well, this matter was hard to explain, so let him think that way.

"I’m fine, just speak your mind, or I’ll have to worry about you," Bai Ruozhu said, playfully knocking his head.

Bai Zebo chuckled twice, rubbed his hands, and nervously asked, "Sister Ruozhu, do you think if I want to marry a girl from the Western Regions, our family will agree?"

"Is it that maid who takes care of you? What’s her na, Muxin?" Bai Ruozhu had long observed the maid and had seen her feelings towards Bai Zebo.

Bai Zebo blushed, "Yes, that’s her. She took care of when I was injured, even helped in the clean room, so I should take responsibility for her, right? But..."

"You’re afraid the family won’t agree and think if I help speak on your behalf, they’ll certainly agree, right?" Bai Ruozhu rolled her eyes at him, "That’s not what cousins are for."

Bai Zebo scratched his head, saying anxiously, "I just don’t have a choice, I’m afraid the family will oppose."

"You need to think this over more. Firstly, do you truly love Muxin and wish to spend your life with her, or are you just doing this out of responsibility? If it’s just for responsibility, would you regret today’s decision if you later et soone you truly like?"

Bai Ruozhu sat down in the guest room, poured herself a glass of water, and continued, "Secondly, you should ask her what she thinks, and since she is Princess Yingtong’s maid, you must get the princess’s approval. Lastly, consider whether she can integrate into the Bai Family life. Growing up in the Western Regions court, can she adapt to the lifestyle of the Danliang family, given the differing habits which could lead to conflicts in the future?"

Bai Zebo was stunned. He thought marrying soone was just about mutual attraction, but didn’t expect there to be so much to consider. Luckily, he was a clever kid, not one to make impulsive decisions. After a while, he nodded and said, "Sister Ruozhu, you’re right. I need to think this through. After all, marriage is a lifelong commitnt, and I can’t let the girl down."

Bai Ruozhu nodded in satisfaction. Her young cousin was perceptive and of good nature, worthy of nurturing in the future.

When the procession neared Beiyu City, they raised the flags of Western Regions Country to indicate they were escorting Princess Yingtong to Danliang for a matrimonial alliance, with local officials eting them along the way, making the journey much more comfortable thereafter.

Unexpectedly, when they reached Qiyuan City, a young man dressed as a chivalrous hero stopped the procession.

"I am Mo Beishan, the young master of the Mo Family. I admire the virtues and beauty of Princess Yingtong of Western Regions, and I wish to take her as my wife!" The young man said loudly.

Bai Ruozhu pulled open the carriage curtain to see a man in his early twenties holding a sword standing in the middle of the road. A gentle breeze blew through his falling bangs, giving him the air of a true hero.

She found it amusing and softly asked Jianqi who was beside the carriage, "Where did this person co from? Doesn’t he know Yingtong is to marry Chu Hai?"

Jianqi whispered, "It’s rumored that the Mo Family of Qiyuan City is a renowned family in the River Jiang world. Although no one has entered officialdom or joined the military, the Mo Family is known for their outstanding martial arts and holds a high reputation."

He truly is a hero!

Bai Ruozhu smiled as she looked at Yingtong, who had peeked out to join the fun, and teased, "Look, you have a suitor now, and Chu Hai will be nervous."

Yingtong said haughtily, "I have suitors lined up from the Western Regions to Danliang. What’s this? But I only like my Chu Hai, everyone else can step aside."

Bai Ruozhu and Jiao Ling nearly laughed out loud, and even Jianqi, standing by the carriage, couldn’t help but let the corners of his usually tight mouth curl upward.

"I have heard that Tang Han intends to marry Princess Wu Ying. Would he dare accept my challenge?" Mo Beishan asked loudly.

Tang Han refers to Chu Hai, whom the Emperor formally nad and intends to ennoble.

Being challenged so openly, Chu Hai stepped out with a dark expression, glaring at Mo Beishan and asking, "Do you think any random fool can covet Yingtong?"

Mo Beishan, however, laughed heartily, his voice carrying a hint of defiance, causing the young won and brides among the onlookers to squeal, all saying how handso Young Master Mo was.

Bai Ruozhu stared, bewildered. Were the won of Qiyuan City this wild?

But she couldn’t deny that Mo Beishan really had the deanor of a hero, reminiscent of Kai Huchong, who she adored from previous tis, making her eyes light up as she watched.

"Whether or not I’m a fool, we’ll find out once we fight. Could it be that Young Master Tang Han does not dare to face ?" Mo Beishan replied with a smile.

"Why wouldn’t I dare? Just know that if you lose, you’ll leave at once and not disturb us again." Chu Hai replied as he unsheathed his treasure sword. Opposite him, Mo Beishan shouted "Alright" and also drew his sword to battle.

Soon, the two clashed, and the people around quickly backed away to a safe distance, afraid of being inadvertently caught in the crossfire of these experts.

Yingtong, extrely nervous, descended from the horse carriage, and Bai Ruozhu and Jiao Ling followed her. Yingtong held Bai Ruozhu’s hand worriedly, saying, "Chu Hai’s abilities have only just been restored, and he was previously injured internally. His strength is sowhat diminished, will he be alright?"

Bai Ruozhu didn’t really understand swordsman techniques. She never dared learn such dangerous skills, fearing she’d hurt herself. So, watching now, she could only observe like an outsider watching for the fun of it, unable to say much.

Fortunately, Jianqi spoke up, saying, "This Mo Beishan isn’t simple; his swordsmanship is very fierce. I’m afraid Young Master Chu might..."

Before he could finish, Mo Beishan let out a light whistle, his sword cutting through the air like bamboo, aiming straight for Chu Hai’s throat...
