Bai Ruozhu and the others had been traveling for three days, and Yizi had fully recovered. Bai Ruozhu found an opportunity to ask her so questions quietly.
"Yizi, were you really faking amnesia to scare Jianqi before?"
Yizi’s face turned red imdiately, "Master, how could I fake it? Those days I felt dizzy and couldn’t seem to recall anything."
Bai Ruozhu chuckled softly, "It was a blessing in disguise. Do you rember what happened in these few days? Jianqi was really nervous about you."
Yizi’s face turned even redder, like it was on fire, and she lowered her head saying, "I rember."
Bai Ruozhu decided not to tease her anymore, patted her shoulder and said, "Cherish it well, but as your master and friend, I have to say this: you shouldn’t take your life lightly in the future. No matter what happens, stay calm. It’s always better to consult with ; many things haven’t reached the worst-case scenario."
Yizi nodded quickly, "Master, I was wrong."
Soon, everyone was on the road again. Jiang Yichun suddenly chuckled softly and moved closer to Bai Ruozhu, saying, "It’s a pity I couldn’t see then; I would’ve liked to witness their drama too."
Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but laugh, "A bunch of silly kids; it’s either dueling or jumping off cliffs. How immature they must be to do such things. I always thought Jianqi was steady, but he still couldn’t see the forest for the trees."
Jiang Yichun snickered, "He learned his lesson this ti, no longer aloof around Yizi. It would’ve been better if he had chased after you shalessly like I did."
Bai Ruozhu glanced at him with a smile, "You admit you chased after shalessly too?"
"Why wouldn’t I admit it? If I hadn’t acted quickly, what if such a wonderful lady was taken by soone else?" Jiang Yichun laughed heartily.
His voice grew louder, drawing the attention of others. Jianqi probably heard their conversation earlier, his face turning red and black, pretending not to know anything, looking quite embarrassed.
Gao Zhou found it amusing and chid in, "It’s a family tradition. Back then, I also chased after your mother." He laughed out loud too.
Chasing after won isn’t disgraceful; the point is he succeeded.
Bai Ruozhu smiled at Jiang Yichun. Gao Zhou apparently no longer agonized over past matters, probably because he knew Chushuang’s true identity, or maybe because he felt he could find Chushuang soon.
However, after all these years, with the rfolk’s vein curse, Chushuang was likely already dead.
As everyone was talking cheerfully, sudden rapid hoofbeats approached from behind, followed by a young man’s voice, "Madam Bai, wait a mont!"
Bai Ruozhu frowned slightly, recognizing the voice. Wasn’t it that little Daoist?
Qiu Zhi quickly caught up with Bai Ruozhu and the others, blocking their way.
"What are you doing? If your master doesn’t get better, it’s his problem. I can’t cure him!"
"No, no." Qiu Zhi hurried to explain, "I’m not here to ask you to cure him. I’ve co to follow you!"
With that statent, Jiang Yichun’s already disgruntled expression beca even more so.
"We don’t need subordinates. You can leave now." He said.
Qiu Zhi wasn’t offended, looking at Bai Ruozhu and saying, "Madam Bai, I swore before, as long as you saved my master, my life would be yours! I’m willing to follow Madam Bai, to be your guard like this gentleman. Although my martial arts aren’t top-notch, Longhu Mountain Daoist magic can still be of help to you."
"I didn’t do anything. Your master got better on his own. You don’t need to repay . Go back and cultivate your Daoist magic properly." Bai Ruozhu hadn’t expected this result; weren’t these two thinking she was a demon earlier and wanting to attack her? How did they suddenly want to serve her? Do these Daoists have no principles?
"I know how much you helped my master, Madam Bai. I was disrespectful before, please don’t mind, from now on you are my master. I’ll follow your orders." Qiu Zhi said earnestly.
"I really don’t need any subordinates. Go catch demons and drive away ghosts instead; don’t waste your youth." Bai Ruozhu said sternly.
Jiang Yichun, also unhappy, said, "We don’t trust people who aren’t proven."
Qiu Zhi’s expression changed, but considering everything that happened before, it was normal not to be trusted.
Fo Lanying and Yuan Licheng were delighted, now being trusted friends.
Qiu Zhi suddenly gritted his teeth, threw a talisman, and muttered an unknown spell before spitting a drop of blood from his tongue onto it.
"What are you doing?" Jiang Yichun hastily stood in front of Bai Ruozhu, afraid that Qiu Zhi might try to kidnap her like last ti.
To their surprise, the talisman suddenly flew towards Bai Ruozhu, even with Jiang Yichun in the way, it turned and transford into a stream of light, entering Bai Ruozhu’s body.
The next second, Jiang Yichun had his sword at Qiu Zhi’s neck, "What have you done?"
"It’s a spell from Dragon Tiger Gate; I’ve recognized her as my master and can’t defy her orders, so you don’t have to worry about betrayal." Once accustod to being an elite of heaven, admitting soone as a master was embarrassing, and his face flushed.
Bai Ruozhu was dumbfounded, thinking about what just happened. How could the Dragon Tiger Gate’s spells be so unreasonable? Shouldn’t she give consent even to be recognized as a master? How could it just happen?
"How can it be undone?" She asked, fixing her gaze on Qiu Zhi, "Be honest, no withholding anything."
While addressing Qiu Zhi, she felt a force in her consciousness; she couldn’t quite explain it, probably the control she had over him after he recognized her as master.
As expected, Qiu Zhi’s eyes were full of respect, kneeling on one knee, "To answer my master’s question, once I advance my Daoist cultivation to Celestial Master Level, a spell can dissolve the servant-master relationship. But currently, I’m just an Earth Master, and after forcibly using magic to pull you to save my master, my foundation is injured, and I can’t progress to Celestial Master."
Qiu Zhi regretted his confession; would his master find him useless and not want him following her?
