1018: Chapter 110 Twin Pontiffs (6000)_3 1018: Chapter 110 Twin Pontiffs (6000)_3 “Embrace Light detests such a chaotic and noisy world, and thus has forged a simple order within its own domain.”

“But now, I seem to have co to understand…”

The nun paused for a mont, cautiously voicing her thoughts: “In truth, Embrace Light deeply anticipates us.”

“It hopes that we will voluntarily achieve all of this… in a manner where no one is anyone else’s king, and no one rules over another, constructing a far grander network of cooperation…”

“It seeks to find a societal system different from the current structure of the Terra Confederation, a better way to resolve all issues at their source.”

“And if possible, it would offer every form of assistance.”

“Is that so.” The Glorious Sword responded, nodding faintly.

A dim white light flickered in the eyes of this cleric as he spoke softly: “Then, Yingguang, you cannot beco a cleric.”

“…Is that so?”

The Dragoness Nun lifted her head, visibly surprised, with a hint of grievance: “Did… did I misunderstand sothing?”

Redemption Light also furrowed her brows and fixed her gaze upon her old partner—clearly, compared to her old friend, she appeared more inclined to side with her young junior sister.

“No.

You weren’t wrong.”

To this, the Glorious Sword shook his head: “Yingguang, this instead proves your potential.”

“The Holder of the Huai Guang Office only accepts those who are ‘already dead’… those who have reached the very limits of their lives, fulfilled their desires, and linger as empty shells, or have severed all connections with life itself.”

“Take Crimson Blade for example.

Our new ally, whose child was abducted by the Redwood Natives to serve as a sacrificial offering.

As a father, he sought vengeance for fifteen years, ultimately slaying his enemies with his own hands—afterward, he felt an imnse emptiness, akin to death.

Yet even in such a state, he awakened for the sake of others, determined to fight so no one else would suffer the sa pain he endured.”

“But he had already reached his limit… he beca one of the ‘already dead.’ Thus, Embrace Light permitted him to join the clerics, granting him the strength to take one step further down that path.”

“But you are different—Yingguang.”

The Glorious Sword brought his palms together before the young nun, bowing his head slightly in a gesture of respect: “Your potential was noticed long ago, back in your village—you are intelligent, patient, cautious, logical, and orderly.

Even without Embrace Light, you would still have achieved great things.”

“Thus, Embrace Light will not allow you to beco a cleric.

On the contrary, it will place you on its internal observation list, alongside those deed to possess the greatest potential in this world.”

“This is an honor.”

“But, but…”

Hearing such praise, Yingguang couldn’t help but feel a bit at a loss.

She exchanged a glance with her senior sister, then asked in confusion: “Does this an, after finishing this round of training and returning to the Holy Mountain, we’re not ant to beco full-fledged clerics?”

“Then why did we co to the Holy Mountain in the first place?”

“We have a mission.”

The Glorious Sword spoke calmly, the white brilliance in his eyes brightening: “As I ntioned before, Embrace Light maintains an observation list, which includes many individuals with the ‘potential to change the world.'”

“Among them is soone we are all familiar with… Ian, the lord of Xiawei Territory.

He is constructing a society that differs from the vision of Embrace Light yet holds imnse potential.”

“We are to witness all of this unfold.

But since you are not clerics and do not need to beco clerics, you cannot join and the others in jointly bearing witness.”

“So you must co to know a portion of the truth.”

The Glorious Sword’s voice reverberated within the carriage: “A fragnt of the truths about our Embrace Light.”

A fragnt of the truth of the Holy Mountain…

The carriage traversed the desolate, snowy road, heading into the distance, toward the Holy Mountain that glead with boundless radiance amidst the wind and snow, piercing straight into the Firmant.

At this mont.

——Huai Guang Holy Mountain——

——Summit of Dawn——

One of the highest peaks on the Terra Continent.

The pure white mountain shone faintly with fluorescence upon its surface.

It pierced through layers of drifting clouds, its summit bathed in peaceful air currents, radiating a spherical halo of light visible across the entire atmosphere.

Strands of cyan lightning coiled around its midsection, forming a peculiar and suprely holy corona.

Composed of so strange and unknown material, nearly as durable as enal, spiraling staircases encircled the mountain, forming a helical pathway.

At its summit stood an ancient and unadorned gray-and-white temple.

The temple was utterly vacant, save for the flickering silvery-white flas that intermittently lit up its surroundings.

If a powerful Spirit Energy User were to observe carefully, they would be startled to discover that these silvery-white flas were a potent Spirit Substance fla known as the Embers of Extinguished Fire.

This fire exists only within the Domain of Void, and even the mightiest Voidrealm Machine Gods can scarcely wield such a fearso force without succumbing to it themselves.

Yet within the temple at the summit of the Holy Mountain, the Embers of Extinguished Fire seed as harmless as Noctiluca Algae, softly illuminating the spacious hall.

This glow illuminated the pair of statues standing at the center of the temple.

It was a pair of statues depicting a youth and a maiden, their relationship unclear—perhaps siblings, perhaps twins.

They possessed breathtaking beauty, a perfection beyond words, like deities descended into the mortal realm.

The youthful figures held hands, their backs turned to each other—one gazed forward at the future, the other backward at the past.

Their appearances were nearly identical, unmistakably twins.

Carved from flawless jade, the statues, though made of the sturdiest material, conveyed the flow of their long robes and flowing hair as if caught in an eternal breeze.
