1038: Chapter 126: Inheritance that Transcends Ti and Space (2/2) 1038: Chapter 126: Inheritance that Transcends Ti and Space (2/2) After learning of Hiliard’s death, the knight, whose deanor had always faintly revealed madness, now seed utterly hollowed out—calm and empty: “I originally intended to co here to kill him, to take sothing from him as the first step of my resistance, or perhaps to die at that old man’s hands, bringing a laughable end to my life.”

“I never thought… the commander would just die like this.”

“Why does he get to just die like this!”

The previously calm Inspector Knight suddenly roared with fury.

He shouted angrily: “Did he not tell you the truth?

Did he not share with you the process of the Dark Moon upheaval?!”

“Ian, you unlucky bastard, you have inherited that old man’s legacy, but the most important thing—his entire life, his glorious past, his beliefs and dreams, the goals that should have been passed down—did he not tell you even a single word about them?!”

He didn’t even care about the Unyielding Fortress legacy in Ian’s hands, nor the research materials from the Domain of Extres.

From beginning to end, Weyges simply wanted to know one answer.

—What did Hiliard and Inega II truly do to lead to such an ending?

And…

—What was Hiliard’s purpose in choosing such an ending?

“Nothing more than a journey Above the Sky.”

The young man calmly replied: “He didn’t need to tell —I would do it anyway.

He didn’t need to explain—I already understand.”

“That’s why I am the disciple he chose, and you, Weyges, are unworthy.”

“Above the Sky…”

The Inspector Knight froze.

He repeated the phrase as he raised his head.

The young knight, outwardly youthful, looked upward toward the night sky, now filled with darkness.

He could see no stars.

Who could understand?

On Terra’s dim night sky, there were neither dazzling stars nor resplendent galaxies.

The people of this world never harbored much wonder for the sky from the mont of their birth.

Far-reaching explorations and boundless dreams struggled to thrive here, for the vital essence of them was missing.

“There’s only… darkness there.”

The knight murmured to himself, unable to comprehend: “Why… would he want to go there…”

Weyges didn’t understand Ian’s words.

And the most tragic part wasn’t that he personally couldn’t grasp their aning—it was this world that rendered him unable to comprehend.

“There must be a reason.”

At that mont, Ian spoke softly: “Otherwise, why would they et such an ending back then?”

“Weyges, I don’t know what you’re hating or agonizing over, but if you truly want to uncover the truth of the past… then why not do the sa thing that my teacher did back then?”

“Help .”

He spoke calmly, as if giving an order: “Help , and together we’ll reach Above the Sky.”

The knight opened his mouth.

He wanted to refuse.

He wanted to rebuke.

He wanted to sneer—sneer at Ian’s naïveté.

A re Thunderhunter Jellyfish and so alchemical explosives, at most, could leave him severely injured, but even so, with his strength, defeating Ian now wouldn’t be difficult.

Why did Ian think he would help him?

He had co here intending to kill that old man!

Not just that old man—he also wanted to kill Ian.

Surely the commander had left behind a legacy, and if he could claim that legacy—the secret of Inega II’s rise—then even as a half-wasted man, maybe he could one day take vengeance on the Empire’s upper echelon that had murdered Inega II, driven away the commander, and slaughtered the old Knight Order of Inspectorate.

He could destroy the entire old world, turning everything of the past into sacrifices.

But the knight also understood sothing very clearly.

If it were rely for this dream, if it were with such limited ambitions, he would spend his entire life never understanding what his teacher had truly been thinking, nor why he chose such an ending.

The teacher was already dead, no longer available to answer.

If he wished to understand him, then indeed, the only path was as Ian had said.

To do the sa thing Hiliard had done.

Moreover, Weyges had discovered an undeniable truth.

—I am indeed far inferior to this young man.

In wisdom, in ntal fortitude, in calmness, in daring—Ian far exceeded his expectations, even surpassing his imagination.

It wasn’t simply that he felt unworthy; he even felt joy in his awe.

—No wonder he was chosen as the heir in the end… One day, he will surely shake the entire world.

No one will be able to deny such a possibility.

In comparison, my own potential pales in comparison.

As expected from the teacher… He was truly a great man.

Even if he died in this corner of the countryside, leaving behind only a single disciple.

He could still stir the tremors of the entire world.

Weyges lowered his sword.

Leaving behind his side sword and token, he returned to the Imperial Capital.

From then on, Ian periodically received books and cultivation materials, and even ingredients for Magic Potions from the capital, along with many historical texts about Hiliard’s era.

“You want to be as great as the commander?

You’re still far off.

Start by learning history.

Beyond that, what alchemy texts you want, I can fetch them for you, and the sa goes for inscriptions.”

Weyges occasionally returned to Harrison Port.

When eting Ian, he would always say: “You should also try to beco an Inspector Knight.

My position is delicate and I cannot recomnd you, but Marquis Barton is a man who appreciates young talents.

With your gifts, as long as he ets you, he’d want nothing more than to claim you as his prized possession.”

Inspector Knight.

Though different from the Inspector Knights of old, even now the Inspector Knights had vast resources—more than sufficient for Ian’s growth.

“So, you want to go to the Imperial Capital.”

The Ian of this tiline said: “You want closer to the pinnacle of this world, like the teacher.”

“Yes.”

Weyges replied: “For soone with your talent, it’s imperative to gain more resources during your developnt phase.

I alone am not enough—you must go to the Imperial Capital, to the mountaintop, to the place where the nourishnt to help you grow lies.”

Thus, in another tiline, Ian embarked on his journey to the Imperial Capital.

Deduction.

The so-called deduction refers to deriving the future outco based on available information.

Deduction of the past, anwhile, entails adding certain ‘variables’ to deduce an alternate form of the ‘present.’

Ian felt his ‘Retrospection Vision,’ sensing this alternate version of the ‘present.’

From where did Spirit Energy obtain information?

Ian speculated that it was akin to the Silver Chip, directly sourcing known information from the Domain of Void and from the collective soul ocean of humanity.

Only in this way could his brother Alan’s Psychography Spirit Energy access intelligence that Alan himself was entirely unaware of.

Much like his own Retrospection Vision: when activated, it could seize a possibility unknown even to himself.

Then…

coupled with the Deduction Force of Foreseeing Bifoliate, bestowed by the Forest Ocean Spirit, it enabled the crafting of this alternate branch of the tiline.

And in this tiline, he walked a different path.

A path that diverged significantly yet shared similarities with his present self.

Becoming an Inspector Knight earlier than his current self, this tiline’s Ian infiltrated the Empire’s systems, completing tasks and earning high ratings, thereby securing resources, intelligence, and pieceal insights into the Dark Moon upheaval.

Bit by bit, he strengthened his powers.

He soon reached the Second Energy Level as a Rock Cast Knight and completed the Domain of Extres… But for that reason, he witnessed even more ugliness from another perspective.

In this tiline, Ian also participated in the Leyan Territory incident.

But back then, Baron Leyan’s plan had already succeeded.

He had used several of his other children as sacrifices to resurrect his true child…

Then, amidst the utmost ecstasy and utmost despair, he committed suicide.

And when the soul of the Chosen One returned to the world, it awakened such extre pain and sorrow that it triggered the enormous Natural Spirit Energy within Leyan Territory’s ley lines, pulling the entire territory into Subspace.

The bustling Leyan City sank into stillness within the mountains, swallowing everyone inside, never to escape.

The Leyan Family’s bloodline was connected to the Dragon God’s seal beneath the Dazzling Lake—they were indeed a branch of the Dragonblood Clan, the experintal results of Qing Steel Dragon bloodline fusion.

Such mbers were scarce but did exist among the Mountain People.

Ian did not yet know this information, and in the end, the surviving Leyan scion ceased communication after Subspace was established—refusing contact with the outside world.

The Inspector Knights were ordered to attack, and Ian, as a native of the region, served as team leader.

In the height of sumr, where even the cicadas were silent, Ian entered the forever-twilight-tinged and overcast Leyan Territory.

In a haze of dust-filled air, he surveyed the empty streets, gazing toward the burning Leyan Castle in the distance, before raising his sword and marching toward his destination.

He advanced step by step, encountering monsters at every turn.

The paths twisted and writhed, transparent glass revealed black-shadowed creatures, blood overflowed from wells, and the cries of children echoed throughout the city.

An endless nightmare of despair—a reality only the sword of a knight could deliver from.

[I never wanted to live.

Why must I be born, again and again?]

[I hate this world… I hate myself]

Amidst the blazing castle, Ian engaged in a battle to the death with the last scion of Leyan.

The antlered Chosen One, whose Spirit Energy wielded dominion over life and death—he could freely command the Spirit Energy and souls of those he killed, molding them into any form or power he desired.

With this terrifying ability, he managed to sustain his vitality for nearly ten years postmortem, and upon resurrection, unleashed the Subspace that engulfed Leyan Territory.

And this power was a shallow corruption of the Qing Steel Dragon’s core ability, ‘Iron Force.’

The last Leyan scion, Alos Leyan, had awakened the Dragon God’s divine power.

His Chosen Psychic Power might indeed have been a trace of Thor Starna’s strength scattered through Terra’s space-ti.

—He was the true Dragon God’s Emissary.

And so, this was the end he t.

“So sleep now, child.”

Though barely older than his opponent, the young knight wielded his sword, slicing through the burning Spiritual Fire born of desperation and hatred.

He plunged the blade into the chest of the last Leyan scion: “Return to peaceful waiting.”

“Wait for an era that values your existence… though that day may never co.”

“But I will end this era and create a new world.”

The resurrected phantom stared into the unwavering yet tranquil eyes of the knight.

Slowly, he closed his fla-lit, hatred-filled gaze: [Then let witness]

[Witness your future]

A surge of emotion rippled through the young knight’s heart.

The Spirit Energy wave carried by the Leyan scion’s essence beca the key to the Dragon God’s Secret Vault—the core secret of Qing Steel Dragon’s ‘Iron Force!’

The Chosen One, without hesitation, surrendered his most crucial inheritance, entrusting it to Ian.

He hated this world… yet still yearned to bear witness.

To witness a different tomorrow.

Back in the real world.

Ian raised his head, briefly dazed.

“This is…”

A ripple of smooth Spirit Energy coursed through his mind—his Silver Chip flawlessly recorded this wave, securing the inheritance.

It was etched deeply into his soul…

Power from the past… transcending ti and space, now in his grasp?!
