Chapter 1084: Chapter 147 You Can Call [Pioneer] (8500)
When Master Gravie awoke, besides the throbbing pain at his forehead, he was also astonished to feel that the numbness spreading throughout his body had subsided significantly.
The lethargy and stiffness caused by transforming himself into a Divine Tree Kin were supposed to intensify steadily, until he truly beca an immobile plant… Yet, this state had unexpectedly eased.
It was truly sothing he found unbelievable to the core, prompting him to awaken as quickly as possible.
“What have I… encountered?”
The old man shook his head, dispelling the chaotic thoughts and confused mories in his mind – he recalled detecting assassins intending to strike at him, along with an incoming attack from Magical Beasts, leading him to the Life Tree Shard in the storage compartnt, ready as a last resort to release the shard if escape was truly impossible.
As it turned out, both the assassin count and the Magical Beast count were unexpected, and Master Gravie decided to use this last card… Dreams aside, survival is the priority.
Strangely enough, he was never like this before. Gravie clearly rembered being soone who, for the future and the Logos, would never value his own life, rushing into experints as the first subject if his ntor wanted to conduct any.
It was precisely this courage and determination to risk life for the Logos that earned him his ntor’s true teachings.
But whether it was due to age or seeing too much death, he increasingly cherished his life… increasingly wished to stay alive.
Gravie pushed these chaotic thoughts aside, squinting as he rose to his feet, feeling the familiar warmth of the bed cushioning beneath him, recognizing the location as his room.
The master recalled the assassins hunting him at the last mont, and the scene where those assassins were swiftly obliterated — he also recalled himself being easily knocked unconscious, the ultimate outco being his blackout…
Opening his eyes, Master Gravie looked forward.
Before him was a white-haired scholar perusing docunts.
The dark silver Silent Silver Box was beside his hand, containing the shard of the Life Tree.
“You’re awake?”
The white-haired scholar turned his head, smiling, with bright blue-green eyes shimring with lively light. Unforgettable, with just a glance, Gravie recognized this person as the Alchemist he once randomly t… the famous prodigy from the Imperial Capital, the Lord of Xiawei Territory.
“Ian Silverpeak.”
Sitting up straight on the bed, the master murmured, “Third Energy Level strength — you instantly killed the elite assassins of the Three Kingdoms. No one at the Second Energy Level could achieve this, even I couldn’t manage such ease even with the Life Tree Shard.”
“You’ve concealed this from everyone, young one. But why reveal your secret in my matter?”
“It’s a long story.” Ian said, turning back to continue reviewing the docunts before him: “Speaking of secrets, you have quite a few. Outsiders, the Lost Epoch, and these Primordial Sublimators docunts, I’m unaware of these… My permission level is still too low to know such ancient history.”
“Interesting, the secrets hidden within Terra are indeed nurous.”
The young researcher was fully absorbed in studying the docunts, exposing his back entirely unguarded to Gravie.
Yet the old man had not a single thought of ambushing him… Even being at the Second Energy Level and having transford himself half-way into a Divine Tree Follower, before this youth… he remained wholly inadequate, akin to a child facing a tiger, or an ant confronting Humans.
— Third Energy Level. It was too astonishing, a seventeen-year-old at the Third Energy Level.
Master Gravie closed his eyes. He pondered.
This matter might be even more unbelievable than his own research; he rely harnessed a touch of the outsider’s power to strengthen himself, planning to pursue so relatively sane research benefiting the Elves, a pursuit long existing since ancient tis, rely involving scarce raw materials and qualified researchers.
Ultimately, ‘ancient pioneers exist’.
All these things combined were nothing compared to Ian’s unfathomable strength.
A seventeen-year-old at the Third Energy Level…
Truly unparalleled, unique in history, unlikely to have ‘later cors.’
“You…”
Opening his mouth, then pausing montarily to collect his thoughts. Master Gravie slowly spoke: “You’ve stilled the mutation of higher life factors within … This technique is extrely refined, evidently stemming from extensive research and practical experintation.”
“Are you from the Spirit Wisdom Institute?”
“No. I have so minor disputes with Spirit Wisdom Institute.”
Ian did not turn back as he soared through the docunts stuffed with related research in Master Gravie’s room: “I’m simply curious about anything and everything.”
“This box.”
The youth turned slightly, extending his hand to lift the Silent Silver Box: “What’s inside the box is the matter I most wish to know about on the entire Siren. To be honest, Master Gravie, I could have quietly taken it, letting the assassins kill you. Then, I’d return to collect these docunts.”
“Simple, easy, fast, leaving no repercussions, and gaining everything I desired.”
“But I spared your life. You know why.”
