Chapter 1118: Chapter 158: I’m Busy, No Ti to Argue, Let’s Get Started

In many novels, there’s often a scenario where the protagonist, hailing from the smallest and most remote town on the world’s edge, beats up the local old and weak to venture into a more prosperous and thriving foreign land, then encounters more villains and clueless thugs in the big cities, thereby gaining resources to advance to larger cities and bigger maps.

Ian has always believed that he perfectly fits the standard of this type of novel plot.

Firstly, he stepped out from Harrison Port, the edge of The Empire and even the entire Terra World. At that ti, Ian thought that Harrison Port was the norm of Terra, believing this world was rely a post-apocalyptic civilization of lower status with sublimation skills and spirit energy.

But it wasn’t until he reached Nauman City that Ian realized that Terra’s depths might be beyond his imagination… A city with such Armor Suits and large alchemical equipnt is enough to prove that the civilization behind it at least has an industrialized level of Origin Quality.

However, this is not the correct answer—It was only when Ian arrived in the Imperial Capital that he finally understood: the entire Terra World is filled with mysteries, it simply isn’t a normal civilization world, with too much futuristic technology lurking beneath its primitive appearance.

Harrison Port, that kind of rural place, compared to the Imperial Capital, is totally different in style, even to the point of being completely deceptive.

——Can the gap between a frontier town and the capital really be this huge?!

——Oh, it really can be this huge. Ian was just overreacting.

Unlike the Imperial Capital, the World Tree City gave Ian an even stranger impression.

No matter how advanced it looks on the outside, the internal order of the Imperial Capital remains the sa old emperor, nobles, knights, and commoners setup—not to say decaying, at the very least within Ian’s expectations.

What’s more, the truly high-tech part of the Imperial Capital is actually the Upper City District… But would Ian dare go to the Upper City District? With his identity, he’d definitely be dead without a grave if discovered by the emperor. Therefore, Ian didn’t actually see the most advanced part of the Imperial Capital.

However, on this side of Canaan Moore, not to ntion the technology… the elves who seem to live in a cyberpunk world, and the completely chanized inside of the World Tree City, really gave Ian too much surprise.

The passage into which the Silver Gate Skyship entered is spacious and equipped with indicator lights, the entire skyship bathed in a pale golden halo, with a green beam from the docking area guiding the skyship to slowly move forward.

As an immigrant rocket engineer from Earth, Ian imdiately recognized that this passage is fundantally designed for small spacecrafts’ ingress and egress, even having guiding beams… To be honest, it felt so familiar.

Thunk—Clack!

Accompanied by the skyship slowly entering its berth, landing in its designated area, Ian was officially arriving at World Tree City.

The silver-gray passage’s end looked quite similar to a subway end station, nearby so workers driving small forklifts coming to unload the skyship’s cargo, while so engineers carrying tools prepared to inspect the skyship, and the passengers were separately isolated in a tunnel enclosed by transparent glass to avoid being contaminated by exhaust released when the skyship engine stopped running.

Until then, the young man was still imrsed in the scene he had seen before—those elves holding crystal plates, scanning the skyship and giving likes, and the Ten Kings Blood Elf sending cash to all witnesses… To be honest, it was too cyberpunk, slightly out of tune with The Empire over there with the style of swords and magic.

“I knew you’d like this scenery, Ian.”

Yisen Gard noticed Ian’s ‘absent-minded’ look and wasn’t at all surprised—back when he had Ian running around the Imperial Capital with him, he’d often see his friend reveal this expression. He patted Ian’s shoulder: “But don’t just stand there dazed now, let Anfa take us on a tour later, won’t that be better?”

“…Actually, compared to World Tree City itself, I am more amazed by Canaan Moore’s political system.”

The silver-green glow flickered in his eyes dimly, and Ian, finishing his observation, shook his head, complaining: “Speaking of which, Yisen, don’t you think it’s strange… the difference between The Empire and Canaan Moore is so great, those elves even use Crystal Plates and digital currency! Whereas on our side, even checks are rarely used!”

“Hmm… Is there anything strange about this?”

Ian’s question seed to stump Yisen, the blond young man scratched his head, sowhat troubled, and said: “It’s different, but… originally every country has its unique peculiarities, right? If everyone were truly similar, why wouldn’t they rge?”

“As for the Crystal Terminal, it is truly a very advanced technology. Didn’t The Empire form an alliance with Canaan Moore recently? The introduction of Crystal Terminal technology is part of the cooperation project, and I rember it seems to have been successfully negotiated, it might be officially introduced by the end of the year.”

Saying this, Yisen Gard seed to rember sothing, lowering his voice and leaning in sowhat mysteriously, he said: “Ian, would you like test qualification? I have one qualification here, but no territory, you can have it if you’re interested!”

“Of course.” Ian could actually tell, Yisen Gard was intentionally securing a spot for the trial run qualification of the Crystal Terminal in a region for him, just not wanting him to be too concerned and thus said it like this.
