"The other side isn’t stupid; they won’t easily allow a ’spy’ who has infiltrated deep into enemy lines and lost contact for a while to swiftly return to central command."
"I know."
Ian nodded, his gaze profound: "But from start to finish, I never needed him to do anything."
"I only need his eyes to confirm one thing."
"That Great Demon being nurtured in the Domain of Void... is it truly an ’Abyssal Dragon’? I an, not just in form, but in essence, is it a dragon of abyssal civilization birthed by ’Spark’?"
"If so, then many things that follow will beco much simpler."
Soon, Heartbewitcher was sent back to the ’enemy’s position’. Ian and Adalbert watched as he flew towards the northwest of the dark Domain of Void.
What they needed to do next was wait.
A while later.
The edge of the Western Frontier of the Empire, the Southern Ridge of the Western Border.
Ground Hurricane Bridge.
There are not many bridges over the Bart Great Rift Valley, and the Ground Hurricane Bridge is the only main road directly connecting to the Golden Plains of the South Ridge.
Yet this main road was blown up a few days ago.
The ones who destroyed it were the bridge guard troops terrified out of their wits by the Demonic Army. They presud this would halt the demons, unaware that their actions rely caused trouble for the Empire’s support troops.
Being demons, how could they be stopped by re terrain?
With a constant eerie scraping sound filling the air and intermittent flickers of Spirit Energy Ripple, countless Magical Beasts with bizarre forms began gathering at the entrance of the Southern Territory.
So appeared like minotaurs, so like multi-headed snakes, so like deford giants, others like one-eyed hungry wolves...
The so-called demons are, in essence, the materialization of the harmful, fearful, and despairing emotions lurking in the subconscious minds of intelligent lifeforms within the Domain of Void. Thus, demons are inherently skilled at harming humans, making them the most terrifying forms for humans.
The higher the class of the demon, the more it resembles a human, which actually has a very scientific explanation.
That is, the creature most capable of harming humans, most capable of instilling fear, confusion, and despair, has always been, and will always be, humans themselves.
At least, until a planetary civilization has encountered another intelligent civilization, this remains the case.
The inferiority of Inferior Demons lies here—this level of lower-class demons fails to grasp the deepest fears of humans, rely being shallow manifestations of violence, bloodlust, and harm akin to the human genetic fear of beasts. They lack the distinctive Spirit Energy of higher demons.
Yet even so, their power is terrifying enough—ordinary fortresses and city walls are incapable of stopping them. These creatures, with sheer brute force, can demolish city gates and storm into cities to comnce slaughter.
Although Fiery Fla Land is indeed anti-human, there was one thing they correctly pointed out: the people still remaining in the Domain of Void, neither becoming refugees nor planning to leave the Western Territory, indeed aren’t just ordinary civilians without resistance. The remaining cities in the Western Territory are virtually indistinguishable from fortresses.
Though the Demon Legion can destroy those fortresses, it requires ti and strength. After eradicating the easier-to-handle small towns, the Demon Legion left those hard nuts behind and dashed straight towards South Ridge.
[Golden Plains... there are still so many uninhabited zones within the Empire]
A Fusion Demon Officer squinted his eyes, gazing over the entire Golden Plains, his tone carrying a strange mix of envy and hatred: [If only we, Fiery Fla Land, had such vast territories... such large plains would never go to waste with us]
Before Inferior Demons evolve into true demons, they lack higher intelligence, making guidance from wise officers crucial—for commanding are the Fusion Demons with human consciousness.
Under the command of these Fusion Demon Officers, each with special powers, the Demon Legion achieved the unimaginable: breaking through all Western Frontier defenses, cutting off all supply routes, and delaying the advancent of the Empire’s reinforcents in just over half a month.
It must be known that in every conflict between the Empire and Fiery Fla Land, the end result is almost always the Empire attacking Fiery Fla Land’s holand—without relying on ho terrain advantages, Fiery Fla Land rarely gains benefits in frontal engagents.
[Do not feel too complacent too early; this has been a surprise attack with our new technology catching the Empire unprepared]
A steady telepathic communication arrived, and all Fusion Officers donned in black uniforms slightly bowed, for the speaker was the Legion Commander of the Demon Legion, ’Sorrow Bell’.
From the outside, Sorrow Bell appeared to be a gray-haired man with the classic demon horns. He was one of the Iron Folk, and his skin bore a peculiar tallic silver hue.
Under the modification of demon powers, dark red blood-marked patterns protruded on his skin, looking exceptionally nacing.
At this mont, he gazed in the direction of South Ridge, his tone solemn: [The Spirit Energy Corps of the Empire has set out, and as soon as they reach the front lines, even if we initially hold the advantage, we will definitely be crushed in the end—we are rely a blitz force, capable only of achieving strategic objectives in the quickest ans possible]
[Contaminate the South Ridge, disseminate ’Seed of Suspicion’ in the Domain of Void of South Ridge, divide the internal powers of South Ridge—if possible, heavily damage the Silverpeak Domain, sabotage its production facilities, eliminate its key technical personnel, and kill its domain residents to reduce its production potential]
[Now, I am about to assign tasks... What is that?]
