"How is it?"
When Fairy Ian returned to the Nauman City Governor’s Office, Marquis Barton asked, "What do you think of the Demon Legion’s specific strength, and what about Sorrow Bell’s power level?"
"Fourth Energy Level. At least, with the enhancent of the Cursed Soil, it has Fourth Energy Level strength. His Heart Light Body is sowhat weak, likely just enhanced Third Energy Level, but his subspace reaction is very strong, proving that his Spirit Energy ’mass’ is imnse. I think this is one of his ’trump cards’, allowing him to exert Fourth Energy Level power with a Third Energy Level form."
Fairy Ian landed on the table, pondered for a mont, then summarized the information: "In any case, he is a true Great Demon, already capable of creating a Subspace Labyrinth around himself—in fact, he was not fully holding back earlier, but was on guard against a potential ambush from ."
"What a pity, this is probably the instinct of Fourth Energy Level Domain of Void life, because if he had truly attacked my Fairy Body with full force, then my body would have launched a fatal strike against him from behind."
After speaking, the door to the Governor’s Office opened, and yet another Ian—this one with an exoskeleton armor body—entered, seamlessly picking up the conversation: "It’s said that Fourth and Fifth Energy Level sublimated beings possess an instinctive precognition ability. I am accustod to it because I am a Prophet, so perhaps I am not too aware. Marquis, did you know?"
"I am only Third Energy Level."
Even Marquis Barton, for a mont, didn’t know whether to focus his gaze on Fairy Ian or Lord Ian.
He just shook his head slightly: "Fourth Energy Level isn’t easy to kill. If you destroy a Great Demon’s body in the material world, he can still continue fighting in the Domain of Void—that’s the troubleso part about demons, killing them doesn’t guarantee their death."
"When monsters are killed, they die," Ian said. "The immortality ability of demons is aningless before fairies; I can directly pursue them into the Domain of Void and kill them a second ti. The only issue is, I sensed a crisis just now..."
"Sorrow Bell still has a trump card."
This was almost a redundant statent, as the Demon General leading the Fiery Fla Land’s invasion of the South Ridge could hardly be expected to lack a trump card. Ian’s consecutive ambush and sneak attack this ti aid precisely to reveal Sorrow Bell’s trump card.
If only he could induce the other side to use so Abyssal Dragon-related technology, even better.
Sadly, the opponent held back.
Fairy Ian returned to Lord Ian’s body, and once reunited, Ian, with a serious expression, went to the map in the office: "Although the recent disturbances have made the demons suffer greatly, allowing to probe the true and false of the Demon Legion, their strength has not been compromised."
"According to intelligence from the Western Territory, the initial Demon Grand Legion split into three parts, with two-thirds remaining in the Western Territory to hold back the Empire Legion. The part that ca to us is only one-third, but the number still exceeds three thousand."
"Every demon is a Sublimator, possessing strength beyond that of typical First-Level Sublimators, and there are a hundred Demon Officers who possess around Second Energy Level strength."
"If all the forces of the South Ridge were gathered, it’s not impossible to resist, perhaps even exceed on paper," Marquis Barton pondered. "But combat strength is simply incomparable. Gathering all the nobles, knights, and Sublimators to fight as a military force is an impossible task."
"Indeed."
Ian also nodded slightly: "This ti, they massacred everyone on the Golden Plains, and I can no longer contain the spread of the Cursed Soil. Within days, they will launch a full-scale assault on Nauman City or other areas, and our legion’s re-equipnt is not yet complete."
The so-called legion re-equipnt refers to the recent period where Ian, after taking over Nauman City’s military factory, used Silver Peak Technology to mass-produce exoskeleton armor, auxiliary targeting systems, and other equipnt. Besides these, there are also the Armor Suit’s electromagnetic ejection seat, automatic dicinal injection for exoskeleton armor, and automatic escape systems.
With Marquis Barton’s authorization, a brand-new chanized army is gradually taking shape.
However, all of this is built on the support of the Heart of Terra. Without the Heart of Terra and the Silver Peak Domain’s terminal network servers, most of the chanical and informational systems would cease to function.
Moreover, due to ti constraints, the legion’s re-equipnt rate is currently less than thirty percent—this is quite a paradoxical situation. If the Demon Legion had not advanced quickly, the people at the military factory wouldn’t have handed over control so easily, so re-equipnt could not happen in advance. It was only when the Demon Legion was truly approaching that the nobles, in their arrogance, deigned to hand over the power they held.
Ian doesn’t regret this; he even thinks it’s fortunate the people of the Fiery Fla Land arrived. Without foreign threats, how would he have had the chance to rapidly deploy network terminals in the South Ridge, or the chance to openly sweep away those rebellious nobles who defied his orders?
Though it may sound cold-hearted, war indeed presents a pri opportunity for power reshuffling and policy reform.
But even this is not enough.
The most terrifying aspect of the Demon Army is that as long as the Cursed Soil spreads, they can bypass the defense lines and storm into the cities and rear areas, slaughtering civilians, becoming stronger as they kill. This is the real reason why the Western Territory could not withstand the Demon Legion.
The city garrisons of the Western Territory are not weak, capable of using heavy firepower to block the demons’ advance. But when the demons exploit the spread of despair to enter the cities, they can slaughter everything in the rear and grow increasingly powerful.
