Around the islands, large bird-like creatures resembling giant albatrosses nested, flying in small groups around the islands. They stirred up rare gentle high-altitude breezes and emitted lodious calls.
The outermost island chain was the lowest in height, while the clouds supporting the second layer flowed steadily, resembling the Milky Way as they cascaded toward the first island chain, forming a structure similar to a champagne tower. At the top of this champagne tower, in the center of the third island chain, lay a vast aerial world.
That was the Floating Continent situated above all the cities of Terra, even above mountain peaks.
The capital of the City of Knowledge, the ’Heavenly tropolis’.
Whirling gusts of swirling clouds continued to rotate, appearing from a distance like a white cloud tornado lifting the entire aerial continent. Thousands of high towers stood atop this city, dense buildings surrounding the towers, forming multiple small towns.
This was the destination of their current mission.
Even after witnessing the Imperial Capital’s grandeur and the World Tree City’s magnificence, the City of Knowledge offered a fresh kind of shock. Not only Yisen Gard, but other Imperial Nobility with hidden motives also silently gazed at the distant aerial city, their faces filled with awe, proud to have been invited to tread this ground.
