By using the Heart of Terra to encapsulate pure knowledge, turning it into a compressed package similar to a chip, the holder can slowly decompress to absorb the knowledge within, or just temporarily utilize it.
Absorbing knowledge may lead to personality changes, but temporary utilization is harmless, barely achieving the goal of ’knowledge exchange’.
