Now reading: Chapter 464 - 464 434 New Equipment and Old Traitor 13 from Above The Sky, a Fantasy novel by Gloomy Sky Hidden God.

464: Chapter 434: New Equipnt and Old Traitor (1/3) 464: Chapter 434: New Equipnt and Old Traitor (1/3) Ian chose a new set of armor from Marquis Barton’s private collection of exquisite armory pieces.

According to the knight leading the way, the Marquis had only opened his armory to outsiders twice over the years, and Ian was the third.

The new armor was nad ‘Entwining Void’ and had an extrely unique design that gave off an alien-like biological feel.

Its helt resembled racing helts from Earth’s past, with a V-shaped blade-like structure on top.

The thick outer shell of the armor was a smooth dark grey that could even reflect so light, with an overall design that was exceptionally sleek.

There were rows of closable breathing holes on the helt, shoulders, arms, and sides of the waist.

Arranged symtrically, they allowed for ventilation and could also be connected to external oxygen supply devices or interfaces for other alchemy gases.

Upon examining the back, Ian indeed found hooks designed for alchemy canisters.

The surface of the ‘Entwining Void’ was covered with fine white lines, not added after the fact but naturally ford.

The raw material was the shell of a sublimated giant insect known as the ‘Valkyrie Beetle.’ Nad for its Valkyrie-like majestic appearance when controlling air flows to fly, the patterns on its body were natural inscriptions of gale-force winds.

Ian activated it with unattributed Origin Quality, and suddenly all the white patterns on the armor lit up.

Emitting a pale white light, the glow began at the chest where Ian had touched and extended to the limbs and helt.

The whole weight of the armor imdiately lightened by more than ninety percent, to the point where the young man could lift it with just one finger.

“This is Sublimation Armor, right?”

Ian turned his head, looking sowhat puzzled at the knight beside him, “Is the general this generous?”

“Just a suit of armor, not an Armor Suit.”

The knight leading the way was in full-coverage armor, his face hidden by the helt, but one could still discern laughter in his voice: “As a Guide Knight, your single-handed exposure of the Fiery Fla Land’s biological laboratory counts as a second-class military feat, riting a dal.

Unfortunately, you’re not military; otherwise, the rewards would have been even greater.”

“Have you decided on ‘Entwining Void’?

There’s also a side sword for selection.

Of course, if you prefer other weapons, that’s fine too.”

He hinted.

“I see, thank you very much.”

Ian nodded slightly, realizing he might have underestimated Fiery Fla Land?

Nonetheless, it indeed was a significant accomplishnt, given the years of conflict between two nations, to foil the enemy’s plans.

With that in mind, he felt fully justified.

Ian requested to try on the armor, and as the knight who introduced himself as ‘Sharp Bone’ would naturally not refuse, he even helped Ian don it.

‘Entwining Void’ had an inner layer of airbags that inflated to fit the wearer’s body shape.

Ian found this comfort surprisingly nice, with almost no loss in the transmission of power.

He sensed that the breathing holes throughout the armor could open and close with the flow of his Origin Quality, especially those on the sides and back of the body, which were incredibly responsive and exquisitely designed.

With a thought, Ian activated ‘Fairy Wings,’ and instantly bursts of cold air began to spread within ‘Entwining Void.’ The nurous air holes rhythmically opened and closed, ejecting frosty vapor, rapidly cooling the surrounding air before the armor absorbed the cold air back into storage.

As the Origin Quality spread, the white patterns on the armor’s surface beca even brighter, and the entire suit even began to float slowly off the ground, suspended in mid-air due to the jet streams pulsing from the breathing holes.

“Very good…

it suits perfectly!”

Ian understood why the armor was nad ‘Entwining Void’—invisible streams of air flowed in and out of the breathing holes and air bundles, wrapping around the armor’s outer shell like entwining chains, forming an invisible layer of atmospheric protection.

It reduced weight, even allowed the user to hover, while also providing decent capabilities to deflect arrows and offer protection.

“This is the one.”

Ian had made up his mind, and Sharp Bone noted it down: “Alright, then.

Now for the side sword…”

“I’ll take that one.”

Ian had no hesitation on this front.

From the mont he entered Marquis Barton’s private armory, he had spotted a fine longsword.

Although it couldn’t compare to the Heavy Abyss Iron Sword, it was still a quite excellent weapon.

The longsword’s scabbard was dull and quite ancient-looking, worn down severely, with mottled traces everywhere.

But on those parts that were not worn down, one could make out previously elegant patterns, and at the end of the hilt was a gold-brown crystal the size of a thumb, pulsing with the power of Earth Origin Quality.

Ian drew the sword, observing the blade, only to find that the blade was not smooth, but covered with dense, scale-like lines.

He ran his hand over them and found the scales on the surface to be quite sharp.

Driving this sword into an enemy’s chest would cause not just a cutting wound but a pulverizing one from countless tiny blades scraping the flesh.

“The Iron Pattern Sword, eh?

It was a spoil of war from the campaign against the Elf Pirates, said to be Dwarven craftsmanship.

Solid, but not much else…

Wounds from it might be harder to heal, but it’s also harder to wield effectively.

“But as I’ve heard, isn’t it because your side sword was of ordinary quality and got shattered that you had to avoid combat?”

The Sharp Bone Knight nodded slightly.

Although this choice wasn’t ideal, he could understand Ian’s reasoning—after all, he was just there to guide, “Are you sure you want this sword?”

“This is the one.”

Indeed, this was Ian’s reasoning.

After all, the Heavy Abyss Iron Sword, aside from not being frequently usable in crises, ant his secondary sword was essentially for dealing with those weaker than himself.

In that case, being tough was enough, not to ntion the high capacity of the Iron Pattern Sword to withstand Earth Origin Quality enchantnts.

In his hands, it was certainly not lacking.

And so it was settled.

With the Sharp Bone Knight handling the docunt registration, the Entwining Void Armor and the Iron Pattern Sword officially belonged to Ian.

At that mont, the Sharp Bone Knight also delivered the sealed letters Marquis Barton had requested Ian to bring to the Imperial Capital.

The docunts were kept in a case, wrapped with a layer of lacquered seals.

If it were any ordinary person, surely they couldn’t peek through the multiple seals and extract the sealed letter inside without a trace—but rember, we’re talking about Foresight View and the Silver Chip!

So, the mont Ian received the case, he knew its contents.

They were just a few very ordinary appointnt letters.

In the past few months, Marquis Barton had appointed and then revoked the qualifications of several Southern Ridge Patrol Knight Apprentices, including an evaluation form for Ian himself, which was graded ‘excellent,’ almost a perfect score.

But obviously, there was no necessity for Ian to deliver it to the Imperial Capital in person—although Terra Continent had indeed lost much of the technology from the previous era, transmitting docunts wasn’t hard…

Patrick could communicate remotely with pirates using the Crystal Plate; surely Marquis Barton wouldn’t lack such ans, right?

“It seems he really is using as bait.

Or perhaps there’s a secret within this ssage, such as perhaps the order of nas or the evaluations could spell out a secret letter,” Ian speculated, feeling he was very close to the truth, yet unsure of what kind of traitor this veiled letter might lure out, causing him trouble, “Marquis Barton really has given a lot to deal with.”

“When the ti cos, should I kill directly or take a captive?”

With these thoughts, Ian, wearing his Armor Suit, stepped out of the Governor’s Mansion’s front courtyard gate.

It was the start of a night rain.

In this night rain, the young man saw a figure.

On the surface, he was unfazed, but inside he was slightly startled.

Knight Chris of Magnetic Light was approaching from the darkness of the rain-soaked night, his armor covered in a layer of black Magnetic Sand.

The light from the Governor’s Mansion leaked out through the door, shining on him, casting a long shadow on the dimly lit street.

The two exchanged glances, and Ian, clad in Entwining Void Armor, nodded politely.

The Magnetic Light Knight, sowhat puzzled, looked at this unfamiliar Knight, a strange feeling rising within him.

A strange feeling of deja vu.

He nodded back at Ian, then entered the Governor’s Mansion.

Ian watched as the other man entered the front courtyard, and as the doors of the Governor’s Mansion closed, leaving only the shine from the glimrstone lamp to illuminate the night, reflecting the translucent drops of rain hanging in the air.

In the pitch-black night, the wind howled down the street, causing the roadside trees to rustle noisily.

A peal of thunder exploded, and the fleeting lightning tore through the sky, illuminating the land.

“Electromagnetic…

tal…”

As Ian watched the continuous curtain of rain and listened to the sound of raindrops hitting the street and leaves, he nodded thoughtfully, “This guy’s Essence really does have…

that scent.”

The young man smiled inside his helt.

“Found you, traitor.”

He stepped into the rain.
