668: Chapter 612 So It Turns Out I Have the Villain’s Script (5400, First Release) 668: Chapter 612 So It Turns Out I Have the Villain’s Script (5400, First Release) Ian had always known that journeying to the cosmic starry sky was never a romantic endeavor.

In the imagination of people, it seed like traveling to space would involve many spectacular sights, thrilling adventures, and incredible occurrences.

But in reality, all of that was false.

How could it be possible?

Such good fortune simply didn’t exist.

The Ian who had truly been to space knew all too well that even the voyage from Earth to Jupiter was unbelievably long, and the whole process, apart from being boring, was just that—boring, with the majority of ti spent waiting in hibernation pods.

Whether it was spaceships or rockets, for humans, space contained nothing but twinkling dots of light; there were no colorful nebulas, the movent of stars was invisible, and it was impossible to figure out one’s location or understand what one was really ant to do.

After all, humans were fundantally terrestrial beings, and comprehending the beauty of the universe and adapting to a way of life that was incompatible with planetary life required a complete transformation of both body and mind, becoming a New Humanity.

Even in the Earth Federation, where Ian’s past life resided, the great developnt of space was undertaken just to consu productive forces and give people sothing to do.

After all, sotis, how to travel to the cosmic starry sky faster and better was a comprehensive issue, and solving those problems in themselves could improve people’s lives.

For example, the ultra-high-energy storage developed for navigating the starfield, the compressible batteries that could be reused hundreds of thousands of tis, and the accompanying nuclear charging units, while they didn’t speed up traffic to Jupiter or fundantally extend the duration of drone fleets, indeed solved many of the energy problems of Earth’s civilian facilities.

In the end, everything is people-oriented; if people weren’t truly bored to death, who would want to venture far?

Yet, there were such individuals.

But these people were always in the minority, those who, despite being able to live a stable life in their holand, constantly sought unknown places…

and most of the ti, such people were labeled as ‘oddballs’.

Ian was one such oddball.

He was precisely the kind of person who always thought of the distant place, only concerned with the far, showing little interest in regions he was already familiar with.

He was soone who was not down-to-earth at all, not at all like Ordinary people, soone who simply did not care about the small happiness of daily routine.

But.

But…

In that world where his past life resided, within the Earth Federation of his past life.

There were no ‘Ordinary people’ any longer.

Ian gazed at the Multitude of Souls before him, but his mind conjured images of the humans from his previous life, his classmates, colleagues, and friends.

In that world where artificial intelligence managed resources, there was no longer any labor that required ‘physical strength’; everyone was a Scholar, a researcher, and at the very least a craftsman in the related field, an Artist, or a fellow of gas, an entertainnt star.

Back then, one even needed to apply to have children, and parents underwent multiple evaluations and had to obtain three certificates before they could qualify to leave offspring.

Everyone tried their best to cultivate their children and there were hardly any issues with their original families.

And if people genuinely wanted to idly while away their life, they could, but those who truly resorted to idleness were few.

After all, people’s reluctance to work stemd rely from weariness and a sense of worthlessness—if, in a world where there were no KPI requirents or pressure, where reasonable resources were provided as needed, with no clueless bosses setting arbitrary targets, whether it was for programming, building, art, or entertainnt, all of which would be supported.

Would there truly be people in such a world who would not want to ‘work’?

No.

Because at that ti, the very act of being able to work was itself an honor, a synonym for dreams, and those who weren’t good enough could only play gas in the Cyber network.

Maybe they weren’t even as good at gaming as others.

“Ordinary people…”

Ian muttered to himself, detesting the word, even hating it.

The more he resided in Terra, the more he despised Ordinary people, the commoners, those considered as nothing special.

Of course, he grew to despise the high and mighty, the oppressors.

What about the rich, the poor, the superior, the yokels…

they were all disgusting and made him want to vomit.

Because these terms simply should not exist.

Everyone should be their own Superman, the realizors of their own dreams—everyone ought to have their firm beliefs, their own passions and talents, and everyone should be equal in human rights.

No one was Ordinary, superior to others.

Forcing humans, compelling them to admit that they are Ordinary people, forcing a sentient being to beco what’s so-called an ‘Ordinary person’, is the greatest evil in this world.

So Ian, born of such a world, from beginning to end, could never understand many of the things that happened in the world of Terra…

It took him a long ti to gradually understand that humans could live like this, in such a humble…

and bewildered existence.

Humans should not live like this.

So.

So, faced with the many Lost Souls.

Ian looked at the chief of the Lost Souls, the prostitute who had conversed with him, the carpenter’s daughter, a human who struggled to live but didn’t receive a good ending.
