71: Chapter 68 The Great Storm 71: Chapter 68 The Great Storm “Is this…

the reenactnt of that great storm?”

—The one that struck at his birth, wiped out the entire Guard Squad of Harrison Port eight years ago, shattered the port walls, and blew away half of the Ancestral Altar of Elephant Bone Mountain, leaving both the Natives and Imperial People struggling to recover to this day?

Ian suppressed his rapidly beating heart, held his breath to observe the movents of the Sea Beast, and then slightly relaxed, “No serious harm.”

In recent years, protective sea breakwaters had been built on both sides of Harrison Port, which ordinary schools of fish and Sea Beasts could not surpass, posing no threat to the harbor, it seems a lesson had been learned from the past.

The Sea Beasts weren’t foolish, either; for them, humans’ fishing boats and large ships were akin to terrifying Behemoths.

Thus, it was rare for a Sea Beast to directly charge at the docks, and even the predators among the fish schools had no ti to hunt the prey readily available at their side, rely wandering in the shallow sea, shivering with fear.

Furthermore, strangely enough, there were fewer Sea Beasts this ti, at least not as many as Ian rembered from the salmon migration up the Ivoke River in March or April.

At this mont, it was very dangerous.

Gazing at the storm in the distance, Ian was well aware of this.

Although he did not know the reason, that terrifying heat that could boil the entire sea area probably originated from the ‘Ruins Labyrinth’ ntioned by Teacher Hiliad.

Its power was so imnse that even a storm stirred by its residual force surpassed that of a level sixteen great wind, not to ntion the lightning streaking through it, which was even more shiver-inducing.

But.

But…

Just as the city was about to face a storm, thunder, and sudden downpour, Ian found his heart beating fast.

It was not just fear, not just tension…

More than that, it was excitent.

And a sincere longing.

—Ian liked such scenes.

He held his breath, gazing at the distant howling and surging violent winds, staring at the fiery red spots of light beneath the sea, greedily taking in every lightning bolt weaving through the clouds, his heart pounding violently.

—A rare sight, a dangerous situation that most people may not encounter even once in their lifeti…

he liked such things.

Ian would be srized by the deadly beauty of a volcanic eruption, be moved by the majestic power of a forming typhoon, and excitedly clench his fists at the sight of a solar flare in space.

He was not a fanatic of natural disasters, but rely curious about all the natural movents and scenes that were difficult to witness on Earth.

He longed to witness those ‘unimaginable,’ ‘rare sights’ that ordinary people seldom see.

Therefore, he had always yearned for the starry sky, the universe filled with endless stars, everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen.

“…But of course, life is still more important.”

Shaking his head, Ian wasn’t foolish, he exhaled, “It’s ti to go ho.”

Hobbies are hobbies, but without life, how could one continue to witness the future and marvels?

He was rely montarily distracted, a part of his immaturity at mischief, “Luckily, I was well prepared.”

“I need to get my younger brother settled in at ho.”

For the past two months, Hiliad had been reinforcing the house and setting up a shelter, with Ian lending a lot of help.

The storm out at sea might look terrifying, but its main body would not head directly for Harrison Port—after all, the Bison Mountain Range lay nearby.

The storm’s path would likely continue southwest along the mountains, brushing past Sigh Cliff, and then surge towards the Wandering Sea.

This was also why the Wandering Sea got its na because it was where most of the typhoons in the southwestern mariti region ca to rest.

A place where the breath of the heavens and earth lingered in wander, where common vessels, once entering, could never return.

This great storm originating from a relic of the ancient sea was no exception.

But even so, even if it was just the aftermath of the great storm, it was enough to shake houses and blow away humans and animals alike.

Both Harrison Port and the Redwood Natives would have to endure the impact, bringing their battles to a temporary halt, ending in an anticlimax.

“After the storm, it should be much calr, and certainly many Magical Beasts will be injured, then it will be my chance to hunt.”

With such thoughts in mind, Ian no longer lingered but, like any other passerby, he sprinted towards his ho.

However, as he ran, a trace of doubt surfaced in his heart.

“No,” Ian muttered to himself, “both the Natives and Viscount Grant must have already known that a great storm is coming, if not the exact ti—yet they still resolutely wage war, seemingly without any consideration for preparing against disaster beforehand.”

“Viscount Grant and Elder Prude are now at the front line, and the Natives’ main forces are confronting them.

Coincidentally, due to the storm, it will be difficult for them to quickly reinforce, leaving the defenses at Harrison Port extrely vulnerable!”

“If the Natives have been prepared all along…”

Without any hesitation, Ian activated Foresight View.

It seed as if the boiling sea mist had already neared the port, a thin veil of rain and mist spreading over the solid rock houses and streets of Harrison Port.

The rain couldn’t wash it away, and the strong winds could only ripple it slightly.

This pale greenish-white mist was a mystical phenonon manifesting due to the violent fluctuations of the Spirit Energy Field, representing nature’s fury and the on of a natural disaster.

But now, all the mystical signs dissipated in the mist rising before Ian’s eyes.

Discarding all other features and only using color and the density of the mist as indications, Foresight View allowed one to see the fortunes and future of all things.

In an instant, Harrison Port amid the torrential rain turned into a mass of grayish-white misty clusters, and several crimson misty blobs were rapidly moving in the direction close to Ian.

Even, one was racing straight towards his location!

“They’re Natives.

Coming for ?

No, just on the way.”

Having dealt with the Natives several tis, Ian easily recognized the identities of those crimson mist blobs due to their overly familiar mist aura.

His instinct told him they were probably after him again, but after careful consideration, he imdiately dismissed that possibility.

Fundantally, Harrison Port was a frontier military port, and ahead of his current location there was a watchtower where the city’s guards would usually be stationed, with two to four crossbow-wielding guards on duty daily.

Clearly, this incursion of the Natives into the city was well-prepared, as if there were insiders in Harrison Port like the Natives have, similar to Ian’s cheap uncle.

They were well aware of the position and specific details of these towers, so they dispatched elite forces imdiately, aiming to knock out those tough spots.

“The unsuspecting are no match for the wary, I need to stop him.”

Ian quickly made a decision; the Natives’ invasion plan was very thorough, and without any awareness, the Harrison Port guards would likely suffer heavy losses in the storm.

Without the pressure from the towers, whatever the Natives had planned next would surely go very smoothly.

Moreover, that tower was responsible for the defense around his ho—helping others was helping himself.

But he still didn’t fully understand the world of Terra.

The scarlet mist blobs raced through the storm, evidently using so thod to ignore the resistance of the fierce winds, these Elite Hunters hurried to the dispersed towers on the inner side of the port at the fastest speed.

Their goal was to destroy the internal defenses of Harrison Port at all costs, even if just temporarily.

In the midst of this, they didn’t mind killing people along the way.

Zi—Zi Zi!

The sounds of rapid hissing filled the air, so were vibrations of bowstrings, so were blow darts piercing through the air, and so perhaps were thrown knives or stones.

But whatever they were, the People of Harrison Port in the path of those Elite Hunters fell like straw n.

Amid the cries of agony and the splashes of blood, one could only catch glimpses of a small dark shadow leaping and shifting between the gaps and rooftops of buildings, reaping lives.

The Elite Hunter heading towards the tower on the eastern pier put down his blow dart, passing by an Imperial Person who had fallen beside him, screaming and reaching towards the back of his head, but whose body was gradually stiffening due to the poison.

He felt good about his condition, having not missed a single shot so far.

The Blessing of the Wind Spirit granted by the Great Shaman ignored all external wind, and although it would last less than an hour, it was enough to complete the mission and severely strike at these arrogant, despicable outsiders.

He was almost at his destination, but as he crossed an intersection, the Hunter noticed a child of the White Folks trembling in the corner of the road—perhaps unable to make it ho because of the storm and unable to find a place to seek shelter?

He never pondered so much; the instinct of a hunter had him lift the blow dart with the most skilled and swift movent, estimating the wind.

Then, he blew the poisoned dart towards that child.
