761: Chapter 19 Sombre Crystal Engine 761: Chapter 19 Sombre Crystal Engine As Ian used his soul to touch the Book of Silver Radiance.
At the bottom of Leyan Lake, the silver gravel suddenly began to rise and swirl.
These grains of sand had been nothing but ordinary dust in the past, indiscernible no matter how closely inspected, but now, under the influence of the Book of Silver Radiance, they started to emit light, suspending in the water and forming one bizarre physical model after another.
Most of these models displayed odd geotric shapes.
Comprised of silver sand, they were solid and smooth, making it hard to believe their original form was rely inconsequential dust—The people of The Empire may have explored the lakebed in the past, but without bringing the Book of Silver Radiance, they could only see a mundane, dim, and dirty lakebed.
But now, standing on Holy Ground, holding the Book of Silver Radiance, and communicating with it through his soul, Ian realized he had actually unlocked certain special information repositories within the book.
Indeed, it was neither a password lock nor a lock that restricted certain Bloodlines of souls…
It was a terrain lock!
Information that could only be unlocked within a specific area!
Ancient mories flowed through Ian’s heart, letting him see a scene from a thousand years ago, one that felt both familiar and strange.
—It was the Calamity of Heavenly Fall.
—But it was different from the Calamity of Heavenly Fall Ian had previously conjectured.
At this mont, before Ian, the silver dust ford a model of a planet with two moons.
It was Terra and its two moons, the Illusory Moon and New Moon.
Of course, according to the ancient nas given by the civilization of the previous epoch…
they should be called the Watchful Moon and Awaited Moon.
The two moons orbited Terra in a strange synchronous orbit, acting like twin guardians intercepting all teorites striking towards Terra, allowing life within the planet to thrive robustly.
Above Terra, all civilizations, races, and cultures had a close connection with the twin moons.
They bestowed nurous beautiful words upon them, singing praises, and countless scholars and poets were inspired by the moons to compose various poems that were chanted through the ages.
In the future, these two moons also beca the foundation of the pre-epoch civilization.
On the Watchful Moon, vast Lunar Cities and industrial complexes were built, responsible for extraplanetary mining and colonization preparations.
And on the Awaited Moon, there were six levels of the Sky Ladder, ho to Terra’s largest Outer Space Starship Dock.
—Wait, how do I know all this?
At this mont, a vast amount of knowledge surfaced in Ian’s mind.
It was as if this knowledge had always been there and he was simply recalling it anew.
But tracing back the source, Ian found that all these mories originated from the Book of Silver Radiance.
Connected to his soul, the mories and knowledge recorded within the Book of Silver Radiance were naturally assimilated and absorbed by Ian through a resonant form of Inheritance.
—But things got even stranger!
Why would the Book of Silver Radiance, belonging to the Mountain People, suddenly reveal knowledge about the civilization of the previous epoch?
Did he pick up the wrong book, or did he open it incorrectly?
Could it be that the Mountain People were also a remnant like the Redwood Natives, thus possessing this Inheritance?
Or was it all of the above?
But there was no ti to ponder on these questions.
For the next scene.
—The moon shattered.
It was a beam of light.
An indescribable beam of light ca from afar, rapidly expanding, and striking the Awaited Moon.
It was enveloped by a colorful aurora, unspeakably brilliant, as if encompassing every visible color in the universe.
The dazzling stream of light shot through space in a flash, hitting the back side of the Awaited Moon, impacting the satellite directly.
And then… the Moon shattered.
Ian held his breath.
The young man saw that the impacted area of the Awaited Moon lted instantly; the moon’s crust turned into liquid and even gaseous lava, spurting out.
The rocky satellite seed to be made of water as huge waves rose upon it.
Half of the celestial body lted away.
Massive fragnts fell off, becoming teorites, but the structural integrity of the Awaited Moon remained largely intact.
To ordinary people, this would be nothing more than a marvel and a shock, but Ian saw that it ant the ‘thing’ that hit the Awaited Moon wasn’t simply so kind of laser or particle beam weapon.
It was a physical entity.
However, what was odd was that this entity contained an imnsely powerful thermal energy, yet the kinetic energy it carried, the impact force, was not necessarily great…
The Awaited Moon was lted by its thermal energy, but the remaining half was not completely shattered, preserving its general shape, but charred black by a layer of fla.
Just like the pitch-black New Moon, which could be seen at certain tis in the sky.
And this entity did not stop—after shattering the Awaited Moon, it pierced through, exiting from the other side of the star, and continued to plumt towards Terra.
But this ti, its speed had slowed down, allowing Ian to clearly see its shape.
It was a man-made object.
A craft with a peculiar surface…
but clearly not natural…
“A spaceship?!”
Ian’s eyes widened, his mind filled with astonishnt, unable to believe what he was seeing, “Is that a spaceship?!”
Indeed, it was a spaceship, albeit a damaged one.
On the side of the spaceship, there was a huge, perfectly round, pitch-black ‘spherical’ wound.
