(7000) 917: Chapter 72: The Ancestral Dragon, Body of the Spark!
(7000) This is a dense belt of small asteroids, where nurous fragnts of celestial bodies are scattered along the sa orbit at a regular speed.
They have beco increasingly smaller due to explosions and collisions from eons past, yet so sizable fragnts were intentionally preserved to serve as locations for certain facilities.
The ‘Slumber Dragon Nest’ is one of them.
It is a perfectly spherical ecological base, entirely embedded on a fragnt of a celestial body with a hemispherical do protruding from the rocky structure.
Through the transparent observation window, one can see the dark void of space and the faint glimr of sunlight from the distant reaches of space and ti.
The juvenile is here.
It stares blankly into the depths of the universe—deep within the asteroid belt, there are nurous similar structures and bases quietly standing on the remnants of shattered stars, but what captivates the juvenile’s attention are not these motionless constructions.
It is the massive behemoths that roam between the stars.
Imrsion in the mory of the Qing Steel Dragon leaves Ian slightly startled; he was just calling upon his own mory of the Terra Starfield’s star chart, pondering where in the Terra Starfield there might be an asteroid belt, as he rembers there should be none.
However, the distance to the sun and the surrounding celestial bodies tell him that this location is indeed the Nesis Star Orbit.
So, these small asteroids… these celestial fragnts…
Are they the remnants of the Nesis star?!
And could there really be an outer space experint ground for True Dragons here?
Before Ian has ti to marvel at the staggering secrets behind the True Dragons and to entertain the disbelief that the Nesis might have shattered.
In the Qing Steel Dragon’s mory, he sees a gigantic creature erging from the darkness.
That is a True Dragon.
But it doesn’t seem like a dragon.
No…
Upon seeing this behemoth that erges from the dark asteroid belt, the first thought that crosses Ian’s mind is actually a question.
—What kind of being, exactly, deserves to be called a ‘dragon’?
What appears before the juvenile and Ian is a colossal Ark Behemoth, or perhaps a vessel, spanning over fifteen kiloters in length.
It has a curved wedge shape; the top half resembles a long and sharp semicircular cone, split through the middle, while the lower half, when viewed from the side, forms a ‘↼’ shape.
Sinusoidal light wings, ford by the flows of Subspace Spirit Energy, spread from the ‘↼’ structure like dragon wings.
At the pinnacle of the Ark Behemoth, rows of what appear to be portholes or observation holes are shining softly and smoothly.
Is it a lifeform?
Or a type of large winged warship?
The pinnacle of another civilization’s engineering appeared before the juvenile and Ian.
While rendering them speechless, it also communicates, through so inexplicable ans, an irrefutable fact.
—It is a dragon.
—The first-generation Ancestral Dragon, the original True Dragon.
The Ancestral True Dragon Eltolimu stands in front of the ‘Slumber Dragon Nest,’ the silver and black intermixed streamlined outer armor exuding an artistic beauty.
It gazes at the juvenile, peering back through the observation window, then transmits an emotional wave that represents a ‘smile’.
[Nainpolaca, co here, we’ve made it]
A gentle wave reaches out and soon, another slightly smaller behemoth erges from the depths of the asteroid belt.
In comparison to the first-generation True Dragon, the newly appeared one seems quite peculiar as well—it resembles a giant space Dragon Whale shaped like a massive water droplet, but trailing from its backside are many Jellyfish-like tentacles that rhythmically expand and contract, causing ripples in space-ti.
Large side fins on its body, similar to wings but made from a softer flesh and blood structure, show a kind of elasticity that arouses curiosity about the sensation of tumbling on them.
However, compared to the more chanical structure of the first-generation True Dragon, the second-generation True Dragon looks more like a biological entity.
As for the third-generation juvenile… it is a complete life form.
The True Dragon nad Nainpolaca draws closer to the Slumber Dragon Nest, and two enormous True Dragons now face the tiny juvenile.
This marks the first encounter between Qing Steel Dragon Solstina, her ntor Rock Silent Dragon Nainpolaca, and the Ancestral Eltolimu.
Back then, the Qing Steel Dragon knew nothing and understood nothing; she only knew that she was the only True Dragon in the Dragon Nest who had freed herself from incubation, and also the sole survivor among the True Dragons in that base.
As one of the few successful specins from various plans to hasten the next generation of True Dragons, the Juvenile Form of the Qing Steel Dragon Solstina lived slowly, as the ntor dared not rush her into adolescence, the so-called ‘working state.’
[Once entering the working state, our lifespan starts counting down—we will pass away after five hundred years]
The ntor says: [Although we can use various thods to prolong it, in the end, it’s all just tricks.
Without growth, there is no wisdom, and entering a state of suspended animation is essentially no different from death; it only skips over a part of ti]
[Even the ancestors can’t avoid it]
[Fortunately, you were born successfully.
Ancestor Eltolimu is happy to learn this before passing away—that we are not simply tools dood to die without a future but rather lives filled with hope]
At that ti, the Qing Steel Dragon could not grasp the aning of these words fully.
By the ti she did, centuries had already passed.
