Ian wins!

(5200, second update)_2 Although the Elf held a high position, they couldn’t recklessly attack their subordinates just to kill the target, so they didn’t dare to unleash full firepower.

Though Ian looked sowhat disheveled, covered in dust and even slightly scorched from electrical strikes, he hadn’t been seriously hit a single ti.

Even when the attacks landed, those Dragon Worship Cult elites found sothing strange in the feeling—too hard, completely unlike Ian’s classic frail Alchemist appearance.

Was he wearing inner armor?

Or could it be that beneath the slender fra of this young Lord, his body was actually packed with muscles?

But none of it mattered—they were still gaining the upper hand!

“Let’s see where you can run now!”

Even as the Elf pressed the assault, beyond the frustration and anger of being unable to capture Ian quickly, there was a flicker of anxiety…

Although the skirmish had not lasted long, the Sublimators in Sanhe City would undoubtedly notice the battle nearby and alert The Empire.

The longer they tangled with Ian, the lower their chances of successfully escaping afterward!

Even if he lost the ship and equipnt, returning to Canaan Moore would only an receiving punishnt.

But so long as he killed Ian, the punishnt would just be a formality—he’d surely be rewarded in the end…

However, he absolutely wouldn’t risk completing the task only to be caught by The Empire.

At that point, to clean their hands of involvent, the higher-ups would definitely treat him as a scapegoat, discarding him and gleefully using his accomplishnts to strike against the Ashlight Family (Anfa’s Elven clan).

But now, Ian had fallen back while fighting into an open expanse.

Here, he could be surrounded by Mojian and the other Dragon Worship Cult elites without worrying about obstacles in the terrain.

Just as the Elf prepared for the next wave of attacks to coordinate with Mojian and heavily injure Ian, he suddenly felt a chill down his spine.

A primal warning surged through him, prompting him to rapidly ascend in altitude.

Buzz!

A surge of water-like sword light sliced through, just grazing the spot where the Elf’s waist had been.

It streaked by like a shooting star, leaving him utterly stunned.

If not for sensing the fluctuations in Origin Quality, that strike would have cleaved him in two!

“Borfa, what are you doing?!”

The Elf flew into a rage, shouting at the Demihuman captain, who was still engaged in battle with Green Tide in the distance.

“You can’t even hold them off one-on-one?!”

“If you’re so great, why don’t you do it?!”

Borfa was speechless.

Green Tide’s swordsmanship was exceptionally advanced; he could only suppress it with sheer strength.

At best, he could ensure that his opponent couldn’t escape, but he couldn’t block every sword energy slash that Green Tide unleashed.

Especially in this torrential rain—who could predict who Green Tide would target with their manipulation of the rainwater?

anwhile, on the ground, Mojian was already engaging Ian in close combat.

Although Mojian had no desire to fight and couldn’t shake the feeling that sothing was off, once combat began, he cleared all such distractions from his mind.

Facing the young Lord head-on, the black-haired Swordsman, expressionless, raised his longsword at a diagonal and leaned forward.

In an instant, he stepped forward, launching himself like a cannonball toward Ian’s side.

In a flash, a dazzling blade arc split the air, and concentrated sword wind spread out in high-speed ripples from the silvery light, slashing toward Ian’s neck from tens of ters away.

Close-range combat?

Mojian wouldn’t dare!

The opponent was an Alchemist—who knew if Ian might pull out so bomb and take them both down?

So Mojian started with long-range harassnt, striking with vacuum-like slashes to probe Ian’s defenses and look for openings!

In response to Mojian’s distant slash, Ian instinctively swung his Iron Pattern Sword.

The sword’s tip created a tangible arc of ice, scattering frosty radiance across the ground, which quickly beca covered in thick layers of frost.

The purity of his Primordial Essence was evident—far exceeding the strength he had shown before.

But the icy arc only flickered for a mont before Ian seed to realize sothing.

He then raised his Iron Pattern Sword directly to et Mojian’s attack—resulting in him stumbling backward consecutively, almost getting knocked off his feet.

“Cough!”

Ian even lowered his head and spat out a mouthful of blood… or at least a red liquid of so kind.

The sight bolstered the spirits of the surrounding Dragon Worship Cult elites.

They couldn’t help but marvel at Mojian, the Dragonblood warrior.

The target they had spent so much effort trying to corner had been severely wounded by just one strike from the Swordsman!

“Huh?”

Yet, seeing his performance, Mojian felt no joy—instead, he was alard.

Others might not understand, but he knew his own strength well enough.

Wounding Ian so severely with one slash?

Perhaps possible, considering Ian had been expending his stamina earlier.

But spitting blood?

What a joke.

He had been prepared for Ian to possess short-burst energy output at the peak of the Second Energy Level.

Even if Ian had wasted over half his stamina earlier, the strength remaining should have been enough to fully negate Mojian’s strike!

Sothing wasn’t right!

At the sa ti, in the distant sky, the Elf, who had dodged Green Tide’s covert attacks, had completed charging their power.

They, too, noticed that sothing was wrong—both Ian and Green Tide seed stronger than anticipated.

At this stage, the Elf no longer cared about capturing Ian alive.

He resolved to stick to the original mission: eliminate him directly!

Thunder roared as a massive Sunfire Dragon Lance manifested in the hands of the Elf Dragonblood warrior.

The lance, over ten ters long, trailed a colossal hundred-ter-long lightning arc that crackled and flashed across the sky.

With a swing of his arm, accompanied by a deafening crackling sound, the Thunder Spear hurtled toward Ian, who had been ‘wounded’ by Mojian and was temporarily immobilized!

Boom!

Lightning ripped across the sky, cascading downward at an angle!

The enormous Thunder Spear slamd into the ground, and the entire open field trembled as if struck by a small earthquake.

The ground heaved like waves, and plus of dust and electric arcs shot into the air, rising hundreds of ters high.
