"I’m called Chen Shi."

Chen Shi helped him exercise his muscles and blood vessels. After a mont, the old paralytic said, "Look at my mory, I haven’t even asked for your esteed na."

"Chen Shi."

...

"Look at my mory, I haven’t even asked..."

"Just call Scholar."

Chen Shi dropped him and ca to the Black Pot with a dark face, grabbed the dog’s ear, and said, "Black Pot, stop playing around! You don’t have to disrupt them in Red Mountain Hall... Wait a second, what’s my na?"

He was horrified and quickly shook Black Pot’s neck back and forth, exclaiming, "Black Pot, give my na back!"

Black Pot was also panic-stricken.

It had awakened this ability only in a mont of desperation but didn’t know how to use it, stop it, or reverse it.

Just now, it was nervous and Chen Shi’s mory was affected too.

The old paralytic saw Chen Shi chasing the black dog around the yard with a crutch and couldn’t help shaking his head, thinking, "The Scholar is still childishly temperantal. Strange, why would soone call himself Scholar?"

Chen Shi fought with the black dog, sotis pinning the dog down and clutching its neck, and at other tis, the dog pinned him down and clutched his neck.

After a long fight, Chen Shi still couldn’t rember his own na. He stared at the two characters "Chen Shi" in the letter Li Tianqing had sent him, but they looked so familiar yet unrecognizable.

Yu Tiancheng went to the back courtyard and didn’t show up for two days; many instructors inside Red Mountain Hall were cultivating to open their Heavenly Gates. Already a few had opened their gates, with Golden Cores erging, causing excitent throughout Red Mountain Hall.

Incense Master Lu ca to Chen Shi for advice and asked, "Scholar, can Nascent Soul Ergence also use this thod?"

Chen Shi said, "Nascent Soul Ergence also uses this thod, but it requires more ti to cultivate until there’s no bone at the soft spot on the top of the head before the ergence. However, Nascent Soul Ergence is fraught with dangers; if soone gets close and hits the head, it’s easy to damage the brain."

Incense Master Lu laughed, "If one can cultivate to the point of Nascent Soul Ergence, what’s the harm in having this weakness?"

A few more Talisman Masters ca to visit Chen Shi, seeking instruction on how to cultivate the Golden Core. Chen Shi, not wearying of their questions, shared with them all he knew about cultivating the Golden Core.

He discovered that these Talisman Masters didn’t understand the Seven Refinents, Eight Variations, Nine Returns. They instinctively used their Golden Core to temper their physical bodies. So he generously shared all he knew about it.

After a few days, two people in Red Mountain Hall crossed the Golden Core Realm and cultivated the Nascent Soul, officially becoming masters of the Nascent Soul Realm!

And more than a dozen others had made significant progress in their cultivation!

Chen Shi’s injuries had also healed, the scabs fell off, revealing new skin underneath.

Chen Shi was overjoyed and stimulated the Beidou Seven Refinents in the courtyard to refine his skin, causing the scars to blend in gradually with the normal skin.

After cultivating for a while, he returned to his room to close off and open the Heavenly Gate.

After half an hour, Chen Shi also opened the Heavenly Gate. Consequently, the Golden Core rose slowly from the Dantian, passed through the throat, moved from the tongue to the upper palate, into the nasal cavity, and then from the nasal cavity into the brain.

The Golden Core traveled along the central line and finally reached the Heavenly Gate and leaped out!

Chen Shi’s eyes were half-closed, half-open, with only a line of light in front of him. However, as the Golden Core leaped out, it beca like his eyes, with the view suspended above his head, looking downward, he could see the soft spot on the top of his head pulsating.

He had cultivated to the Black Golden Core Fourth Transition, and the Golden Core was black, emitting a black light.

Chen Shi’s thoughts stirred slightly, and the Golden Core passed through the walls to the outside, where it was already evening, and the moon had risen.

He was startled; the Golden Core exposed to the moonlight could be affected by the moonlight, with evil energies invading.

He quickly controlled the Golden Core to avoid the moonlight, flying silently.

With the Golden Core as his viewpoint, he saw that the scenery around him was different from what the naked eye could see, providing a unique interest.

Before long, Golden Core arrived by the wooden cart and saw that the cart was sound asleep, but the dog, Black Pot, was nowhere to be seen.

Chen Shi felt puzzled, "Where has Black Pot gone?"

He controlled Golden Core to fly around, searching everywhere, and finally found Black Pot by the stove.

This was the kitchen of Red Mountain Hall; the cooks had already gone to rest. A lamp was lit on the stove, and flas burned beneath it.

Black Pot was sitting in front of the stove, adding firewood to the bottom of the pot with one paw, and holding a scroll in the other, reading by the light of the lamp.

Its brows were deeply furrowed, as if mulling over sothing.

"Black Pot can actually read?"

Chen Shi was greatly surprised, as he had never seen Black Pot read a book before!

He observed through Golden Core and saw Black Pot put down the scroll, grabbed a handful of salt from a bowl nearby, and tossed it into the fire.

Imdiately, the flas under the stove turned a greenish hue.

Black Pot thrust its head into the fire, struggling to crawl under the stove; in the blink of an eye, it squeezed into the stove and disappeared from sight.

There was no way a large dog could fit into that stove, yet Black Pot had sohow squeezed into it.

Chen Shi’s black Golden Core flew to the front of the stove, peering into it, only to see the stove filled with green flas. Within the green fire, a much smaller version of Black Pot was running wild, and the surrounding scenery was unlike anything in the mortal world!

Inside the fire seed to be another world entirely, with impossibly large demons appearing to ambush Black Pot. The black dog fought valiantly, slaying several demons while continuing to run, until it reached a palace-like structure and then darted inside.

At that mont, the green flas began to change color, turning back to their normal hue.

Just as Chen Shi was about to grab another handful of salt to throw into the fire, he rembered he was a Golden Core, without palms.

Inside the fire, Black Pot burst back out from the palace, seemingly aware of the changing flas, and thus it sprinted frantically towards this side!

Chen Shi was feeling anxious, contemplating throwing the salt into the fire, when he saw the bowl full of salt began to float on its own.

He was montarily stunned, "The Qi-Blood within Golden Core is under my control, capable of manipulating objects!"

He propelled Qi-Blood, spilling the salt from the bowl into the fire.

The flas in the stove imdiately turned greenish again.

Relieved, Chen Shi controlled Golden Core to fly out of the kitchen.

As he was leaving, he stealthily glanced at the book on the table. The text was like a talisman, squiggling around like earthworms as soon as his gaze landed on it.

"A ghost book?"

Chen Shi paused, he had heard his grandfather ntion that such text was used by the spirits in the underworld, incomprehensible to ordinary people, only recognizable by those who had learned the language of ghosts.

"Where did Black Pot find the ghost book? How does it understand the text?" He was truly baffled.

Black Pot looked ahead, seeing the portal to the mortal world growing increasingly blurred and couldn’t help but feel anxious. It seed like it would no longer be able to return, when suddenly the portal beca clear once more, leaving it astonished.

"Whew—"

The dog with sparks from the pot’s bottom leaped from under the stove, the Demon Fla around its body slowly extinguished.

It imdiately surveyed its surroundings and, seeing no traces of anyone having been there, felt puzzled. It then noticed the bowl where the salt had been was now by its side, empty, devoid of salt.

Black Pot didn’t bother to find out who had saved it, but instead, it vomited out a scroll of the ghost book and continued to read assiduously by lamp light.

Chen Shi’s Golden Core observed from outside the window for a mont, seeing the text on the ghost book moving about and undecipherable, squiggling like talisman paintings; he could not understand it and, thus, quietly receded.

"Black Pot is so industrious, it must be searching for a way to control its own abilities."

Chen Shi grew more curious, "But how did Black Pot know to pass through the stove to another world? And how did it know there was a palace there, with books inside? Who told it? Wait a minute, could it be that grandfather found Black Pot near that palace years ago?"
