The swarm of bees flew with Chen Shi and the Stone Rock Lady for a long while before finally arriving at a piece of land that must have been an island in the Southern Ming Sea, but it was very large.
The island was replete with mountain ranges piled on top of one another, jagged and odd-shaped rocks, all revealing an imposing aura. There were many ghostly creatures on the mountains with dark blue skin, fierce and grueso faces, sharp fangs in their mouths, and steel tridents in their hands. They wore rags stripped from dead bodies, barely covering their lower bodies.
Chen Shi had seen the little ghosts at the lord’s place in Wuwang; after growing up, they must look sothing like this.
They were much taller than ordinary people, and seeing Chen Shi and the Stone Rock Lady being hung upside down by the swarm of bees, they tried to poke them with the steel tridents.
Chen Shi hurriedly dodged, narrowly avoiding being poked in the belly.
Several human-headed bees flew up, beating away these tridents, and shouted, "The prisoner says he’s the nephew of our master, kill him and you’ll have a bitter fruit to eat!"
The ghostly creatures stopped poking Chen Shi and turned to poke at the Stone Rock Lady.
Even though the Stone Rock Lady was unconscious, her body was extrely hard; they couldn’t move her, so they gave up.
However, there were too many ghostly creatures along the way; every one they encountered wanted to take a poke at them, keeping the human-headed bees busy.
At last, the swarm led Chen Shi and the Stone Rock Lady to an ancient palace at the center of the island and set them down.
Chen Shi’s body was still paralyzed and he couldn’t move, barely managing to roll his eyes.
On both sides in front of the palace stood rows of Bee n, with two legs and four arms, holding tridents with three sharp points, standing rigidly still.
And on the plaque in front of the palace were inscriptions in the language of ghosts, unreadable and mysterious.
At that mont, a big bee, better dressed and seemingly the leader among them, much larger than the other bees, with a human head but two long antennae on its forehead, ca out from the palace, glanced at Chen Shi and the Stone Rock Lady, and said, "Who are these people?"
"One with the big head is a prisoner who caused a great disturbance in the Southern Ming, and the one beside is her accomplice."
One of the human-headed bees said, "The accomplice claims he is the master’s nephew."
"The master’s nephew?"
The Bee Officer hurriedly ca forward, bowed, and scrutinized Chen Shi’s face, exclaiming in astonishnt, "He does indeed resemble the master’s nephew! But, we need to ask! What’s your na?"
Chen Shi could only move his eyeballs.
The Bee Officer said, "Have you poisoned him?"
The human-headed bee said, "We didn’t know beforehand that he was the master’s nephew, so our approach might have been a bit too harsh."
The Bee Officer hastened to feed Chen Shi a wax pill, and after waiting for a mont, seeing that Chen Shi could move slightly, quickly asked, "What is your full na? Where do you co from? Do you have any family?"
Chen Shi managed to flex his throat muscles with so difficulty, speaking with effort, "I am from Xinxiang of Qianyang Mountain, my surna is Chen, given na Shi. There’s no one else in my family; I used to have a grandfather nad Chen Yindou, but he has passed away."
The Bee Officer hastened to say, "That’s indeed the master’s nephew! Quickly! Bring more Detoxification Pills!"
So human-headed bees hurriedly brought over the Detoxification Pills and fed them to Chen Shi.
Chen Shi felt his body weakly able to move, but his Nascent Soul was still paralyzed and immobilized.
The Bee Officer, bowing deeply, supported him with his lower arms and led him into the palace, saying, "My little lord, please walk slowly. The servants were unaware of your distinguished visit earlier and might have been a bit rough... Soone, hang up that woman with the big head! Little lord, this way, please. Your Nascent Soul is unhard; as long as your physical body recovers, you can slowly activate your Qi-Blood, use it to move the dicinal power, and detoxify your Nascent Soul."
"Does the woman with the big head need to be whipped?" another human-headed bee asked.
The Bee Officer said, "Don’t rush into beating her; we’ll decide when the master returns."
Chen Shi weakly said, "The woman with the big head is my friend; could you spare her?"
The Bee Officer hesitated for a mont, then said, "She broke the rules of our Underworld Bee Mansion, and we govern the Southern Ming Sea... However, for the sake of the little lord’s face, let’s put her down, and feed her a couple of Detoxification Pills, but don’t fully detoxify her. We don’t want her making a fuss once she’s up."
The bees acknowledged the order and departed.
The Bee Officer helped Chen Shi through a vermillion corridor, and many Bee Won ca over, dressed in clothes like green gauze, with the faces of human won and gracefully curved bodies, slim-waisted and commotion-stirring, all saying, "Secretary, let us attend to the little lord."
"Thank you for your effort."
The Bee Officer said, "Support the little lord, feed him so honey water, let him sleep, and let the poison be cured."
The Bee Won agreed and helped Chen Shi into a fragrant pavilion, the room slling sweet; the bedding was as soft as clouds. They brought Chen Shi to the bed, supported his waist, fed him so honey water.
The Bee Won let down the mosquito netting and stood guard outside.
Chen Shi fell into a drowsy sleep, sweated profusely, and the poison left his body with his sweat.
He sat up and found himself inexplicably in a new set of clothes; the original ones, riddled with holes from poison stings, were presumably exchanged by those Bee Won while he was asleep.
He stimulated his Qi-Blood to detoxify his Nascent Soul.
From outside the curtain ca a girl’s voice, "Has the little lord awakened? Would you like to get up for a bath? Let prepare the water."
Chen Shi said, "I’m detoxifying the poison in my Nascent Soul; there’s no rush for the water."
The girl stepped forward, lifting the curtain and hanging it on the golden hooks on both sides, smiling, "The master has returned and is waiting to see the little lord. You can bathe while detoxifying the poison."
She was a maiden with an extrely exquisite waist-to-body ratio, with a delicate face and a sweet, beguiling smile.
If it weren’t for the two antennae on her forehead, one would mistake her for a human woman.
She also moved quickly, with two hands supporting Chen Shi, and another two hands helping him tidy his clothing.
Chen Shi got out of bed and found a pair of new shoes on the floor, probably also provided by the Bee Won.
