His agitation imdiately dissipated. After getting up, brushing his teeth, and washing his face, he had breakfast and said to Chen Tang, "I haven’t been to the Guangji Storehouse for quite so days; I plan to make a trip there today."

Chen Tang nodded lightly and said, "Be careful on your way."

Chen Shi took Black Pot and left in the wooden cart.

Four or five miles from the Guangji Storehouse, at the crossroads, Shen Hongniang sat in her sedan chair, fluttering her handkerchief to fend off today’s scorching heat.

"Hall Master, it’s already the hour of si. That fellow nad Chen definitely won’t be coming for his duty today."

One of the porters looked up and said, "Let’s go back. There aren’t many pregnant animals left."

Although Shen Hongniang was not willing to give up, she also knew that if Chen Shi had planned to co, he would have already arrived for the roll call. By now, not seeing his figure, he probably decided not to co.

"Everyone says Chen Tang is incorruptible, but I see he’s also corrupt, sending his son to the Guangji Storehouse to collect unearned wages!"

Shen Hongniang was quite displeased and scoffed, "People like us have to kowtow and call people ’master’ and ’mistress’ in front and behind to just barely scrape together so silver to survive. Let’s go, don’t wait for him!"

Shepherds drove their cattle and sheep, their hard-earned pregnant animals now reduced to just four or five. Several won due to give birth couldn’t hold on till now and had already delivered a few days earlier.

The shepherds walked ahead with the cattle and sheep while the porters followed behind, carrying the sedan chair. A few n from the tea shelter and an old man selling tea also packed up their things, ready to head back to the Western Capital.

Everyone cursed as they set out onto the post road.

The Guangji Storehouse was filled with firearms. A great explosion had once occurred there, sweeping through dozens of miles, shattering n and horses alike, leaving no trees standing, and destroying all the buildings. Therefore, nobody dared to co here.

However, after everyone had set out on the road, they saw a wooden cart coming toward them. It brushed past the n and the old tea seller, driving into the midst of the cattle and sheep.

Those n widened their eyes, stopped in their tracks, and turned around, staring dumbfounded at the young governnt officer on the wooden cart.

A few shepherdesses were also stunned, watching as Chen Shi’s cart was about to drive out of the midst of the cattle and sheep.

The porter carrying the sedan chair also saw Chen Shi, his heart pounding violently. With a trembling voice, he said, "Hall Master."

Shen Hongniang lifted the curtain of the sedan chair, and her face changed drastically upon seeing the wooden cart coming her way.

In the mont of hesitation, the cart had already driven through the cattle and sheep, passing by Shen Hongniang’s sedan chair.

Shen Hongniang’s heart thumped violently, and various thoughts flashed through her mind!

They had laid this trap to eliminate Chen Shi, to avenge Madam Xue from Yudou, and to remove a serious threat for the young master!

They had waited for so long, and suddenly the opportunity appeared before them!

The young man on the cart seed to sense sothing amiss as well. As he turned his head to look towards the sedan chair, Shen Hongniang opened her mouth to shout the command to attack. But suddenly, she felt a chill at her neck. A sword light, like flowing water, pierced from one side of the sedan chair into it, going through her throat.

Shen Hongniang’s Primordial Spirit leaped out of her body, her Primordial Spirit Field erupted, but by then, Chen Shi had already smashed the sedan chair to pieces with a palm strike. His five fingers, each trailing a bolt of lightning, heavily struck her Primordial Spirit!

"Boom!"

Her Primordial Spirit was blasted several miles away by the Five Thunders Skill, rolling and tumbling before crashing down onto the wilderness. And right beside her, Chen Shi raised his hand and slamd it hard onto the back of her head, causing her skull to cave in, her eyeballs nearly popping out of their sockets!

Shen Hongniang’s Primordial Spirit roared back. anwhile, atop the wooden cart, the Luo umbrella shot up, floating ten zhang high, within a plot of an acre, beneath the Hua Gai divine light shone brightly, and demons and gods chanted.

The Luo umbrella spun rapidly, drawing up every shepherdess, every burly man, every porter, and the old tea-seller.

As the Luo umbrella shrank swiftly, its handle landed in the hands of Chen Shi.

With a forceful shake by Chen Shi, blood and crushed bones gushed from within the umbrella.

"Can’t defeat Chen Tang, but can’t I deal with you?"
