She dropped the tea leaves into the bowl, then scalded them with hot water to filter out the impurities. Each movent was executed with a gentle grace, clearly the result of practice.

Zen Master Chan Yue said, "Previously, they were restless both sitting and lying down. Now, with Shen Hongniang dead, the only one left who knows these secrets is the young master. He is a man of great endeavors and would not hastily exploit these secrets. Should he use them, others will not support him. What the young master needs to do is simply to control their weak points and make them serve his purpose."

Saintess Xuan poured and distributed the tea, stating, "Shen Hongniang is different. As a matchmaker who pulls strings for both n and won without any integrity, she’s difficult to trust."

Zen Master Chan Yue nodded and said, "When compared, that’s why the secrets are safer in the young master’s hands, but Shen Hongniang had to die."

After Saintess Xuan had distributed the tea, she respectfully presented it to Zen Master Chan Yue and said, "Aunt Master, do you think the young master knows about Shen Hongniang’s ambush on Chen Shi?"

Zen Master Chan Yue slightly furrowed her brow but did not answer.

At this mont, a woman’s laughter ca from outside the ditation room, "He knows. He must have known all along."

Zen Master Chan Yue and Saintess Xuan quickly got up.

They saw a beautiful young girl walk in, exuding a transcendental and otherworldly grace. The Buddhist Law seed to have penetrated deep into her flesh and soul. Every gesture radiated the purity and detachnt of a Bodhisattva.

She was dressed in a grey monk’s robe and hat. With no adornnts whatsoever, she nonetheless shone brightly and emitted a youthful and beautiful aura.

A young monk followed behind her, reverent and respectful. After paying his respects to Zen Master Chan Yue and Saintess Xuan, he stayed outside the ditation room, not entering.

"Master Ru ng," Zen Master Chan Yue and Saintess Xuan said, greeting her.

Master Ru ng entered the ditation room, and Saintess Xuan brought over a cushion for her to sit on.

Saintess Xuan also knew that Master Ru ng was a lone monk with an unknown background, but her achievents in the Buddhist philosophy were truly astounding.

After she ca to the Small Jinhua Temple, she debated the Buddhist Law with the monks there. After a day and a night, the monks were left speechless. Even Zen Master Chan Yue was thoroughly defeated in her presence, causing a shock throughout society.

Now, Master Ru ng was well-known in the Western Capital, praised for her unmatched debating skill and wisdom. She was considered a high monk who had attained the Way, a rare occurrence in the Buddhist community in nearly a hundred years!

Saintess Xuan poured tea for Master Ru ng and asked, "Master, why did you just say the young master knew about Shen Hongniang’s ambush on Chen Shi?"

Master Ru ng’s eyes twinkled with wisdom, and she smiled, "Shen Hongniang was the young master’s person. He needed her information to control the officials and noble won of the Western Capital, driven by desire. But once the information was in the young master’s hands, Shen Hongniang beca superfluous. Everyone worried about her losing control. Their concern for her stability translated into distrust of the young master. Thus, to put them at ease, the young master had to take care of Shen Hongniang. It was the most urgent matter for him."

Zen Master Chan Yue shook her head and said, "Master, you paint the young master too harshly. I don’t believe he has such intentions."

Master Ru ng sipped her tea and laughed, "The young master would not tell Shen Hongniang directly to do such a thing, but with a slight hint, she thought she grasped the young master’s wishes and went to ambush and kill Chen Shi. Little did she know, the young master rely used Chen Shi’s hand to remove a redundant piece."

Saintess Xuan frowned slightly and said with so indignation, "The young master is certainly not such a person!"

Master Ru ng looked into her eyes and chuckled, "The Saintess is one who says one thing but ans another."

Saintess Xuan’s heart pounded.

Master Ru ng continued, "Now, the young master has done sothing to everyone’s satisfaction. It’s ti for the various powers to repay him. Junior Sister Chan Yue, shouldn’t our Bodhi Dojo make a move?"

Saintess Xuan was quite puzzled and thought, "My Bodhi Dojo has no shaful secrets in the young master’s hands, so why should we repay him?"

Zen Master Chan Yue said indifferently, "The Bodhi Dojo and the Small Jinhua Temple are Buddhist Holy Lands, pure and free of dust, without any shaful matters in the hands of the young master."

Master Ru ng, holding the teapot to refill the cups, said with a half-smile, "Is that so? When I first arrived here, I saw the Western Capital filled with dense Demon Qi and rampant desires, especially here in our Small Jinhua Temple where lust and spiritual flesh churn tumultuously. As the host here, you practice Mingfei Zen, right?"

Saintess Xuan asked in confusion, "Master Ru ng, what is Mingfei Zen?"

"At the climax of spiritual flesh, one perceives all elents as void, and uses that mont for deep ditation to enhance cultivation."

Master Ru ng spoke lightly, "This is a secret practice from the Huaxia Divine Continent’s esoteric Buddhist Law, the Holy thod of dual cultivation. Sadly, it often causes monks to drown in the sea of desires, turning and sinking within it. In our Jinhua Temple, are there many who practice the Mingfei Zen? With whom do they dual cultivate?"

Zen Master Chan Yue said with a stern tone, "The Bodhi Dojo does not practice such thods."

Master Ru ng stood up and said, "Since you are not sincere, then there’s no need for further discussion." She then left just like that.

Zen Master Chan Yue’s expression turned sowhat uneasy and she said, "This Master Ru ng cos from dubious origins. I’ve never heard of such a figure in Buddhist history before! Xuan’er, stay away from her!"

Saintess Xuan agreed.

Zen Master Chan Yue said, "However, she was not entirely wrong in her words. Since the young master has extended us jade and pearls, we should repay him with peaches and plums. Xuan’er, go and et Chen Shi, and tell him to step aside from competing for the top scorer title."

Saintess Xuan’s heart skipped a beat and she said, "Chen Shi has a firm resolve; I fear he won’t be persuaded."

Zen Master Chan Yue said, "Make him see reason with the consequences, and he will surely listen. If he doesn’t, use the Buddhist demon-suppressing thods to make him comply."

Saintess Xuan showed no change in expression, but her abdon and the back of her head throbbed with a dull pain. She thought, "I’ve made great progress in my cultivation these days, and with my aunt master’s guidance, I’ve stepped into the Divinity Transformation Realm. He’s still at Nascent Soul; surely, I cannot be defeated by him without even managing to execute a strike."
