Chen Shi wielded the sword with light, piercing through the head of the Blood Buddha!
The Blood Buddha cried out in pain and disappeared into the Blood Lake, leaving no trace.
This was their first ti activating the Ten Absolute Formation, and they hadn’t expected its power to be so astonishing, but the consumption was imnse—nearly all the cultivation of the two hundred and fifty-five people was exhausted!
They passed by the Blood Lake, rested for a night under a giant Buddha, ate so beef and horse at to restore so cultivation, and then continued on their journey.
In a valley, they encountered an attack from a group of frenzied Shuras again. This ti, Chen Shi was more cunning and didn’t activate the full Ten Absolute Formation but simplified it into a dozen smaller formations, with each scholar mastering six or seven types of talismans, coordinating with each other.
After a fierce battle, they beat the Shuras to the ground, leaving them immobile.

Everyone cut off the Shuras’ wings, filled with laughter and joy.
As they were roasting wings, they heard screams again. Chen Shi and Daoist Guo rushed over to find Yu Lingzi tied up and set over a bonfire. Next to the fire was another scholar, Zhang You, missing a finger, preparing to roast and eat Yu Lingzi.
"Classmate Zhang, we have roasted wings here. Do you want so?" Chen Shi glanced at Yu Lingzi on the fire, his eyes flickering, and asked with a smile.
Zhang You laughed, "Pardon . I’m really starving."
Chen Shi untied Yu Lingzi and asked, "Is there anyone else?"
Yu Lingzi shook his head, "No, there’s just the two of us. Instructor, I think he really intends to eat ."

Just then, they saw a young boy of about ten standing on a hillside, waving at them.
Chen Shi’s heart stirred. He led the group up the hillside, and the young boy led the way, twisting and turning, taking them up to a reclining Buddha and leading them to a temple.
"Leiyin Temple." Chen Shi stood before the temple, examining the crooked plaque.
"Co in quickly!"
The young boy, clear-eyed and delicate, stood inside the temple, waving at them, saying, "Once you’re inside this temple, those evil people outside won’t dare to co in."
"Thank you, young friend!" The scholars entered Leiyin Temple and all thanked the young boy.
The young boy, gentle and courteous, clearly well-educated, returned their greetings and asked, "How did you get in here? I haven’t seen living people in a long ti."
Chen Shi looked around. Inside the temple, there were piles of colorful glowing stones. He asked, "Little brother, we stumbled and got caught in Wu Wang’s disaster, accidentally entering here. How did you co in? How long have you been here?"
"I ca in a very long ti ago."
The young boy smiled, "I ca to find the Three-Life Stone for my mother. That’s that kind of stone.
