Chapter 267: Birds Should Stay In The Sky - 1

Lily narrowed her eyes, then turned to look toward Lyra and Dhalia. Both girls t her gaze without hesitation.

After a brief pause, Lily turned back to Uraan.

"No need for honorification between students of the sa terms," she said calmly, before standing up and walking toward the girls.

Uraan let out a quiet sigh of relief as he turned toward Leo and Leon. Seeing the opening, Aaron also moved closer and joined them. The only one who didn’t shift was Tavian, who—for so reason—hadn’t taken his eyes off the match even once.

Uraan leaned in toward Leo, lowering his voice.

"So... what’s the secret?" he whispered.

"What secret?" Leo asked, glancing sideways.

"That." Uraan gestured vaguely with his chin. "How did you manage to get a pretty girl like that?"

Aaron nodded vigorously in agreent. Even he wanted the answer.

And surprisingly, even Leon looked interested.

What difficulty are they even finding in getting a girl? From what I can tell, a Beast Master can easily kidnap—

"Heh." Leo scoffed, running his fingers through his hair and combing it back lazily.

"You just need to have otherworldly handsoness," Leo replied, answering a stupid question with an equally stupid answer.

All three of them sneered at once, openly sizing him up from head to toe, their expressions clearly saying that no one could be this shaless.

But what Uraan had actually ant was sothing else entirely—how Leo had managed to get a pretty girl who was also strong. From their experience, the mont girls gained considerable strength, many beca haughty, often seeking more than one partner. Yet Lily seed deadly loyal to Leo, even though she appeared to be roughly on the sa level as him.

Lily ignored their snippets completely, confident that Leo would never speak ill of her. As for Tavian, he simply shook his head faintly, his gaze still glued to the arena below.

Down in the arena, all hell had broken loose between the mammoth and the sentinel. And sohow, it was the mammoth that seed to be holding the advantage. Ice-type attacks were clearly a bane for Ronan’s sentinel—its entire body was now crusted from head to toe, cooled lava hardening into jagged layers that severely restricted its movent.

The mammoth, on the other hand, had drained most of its mana by repeatedly using Ice Burst. Now, it was relying on aura instead, reinforcing its tusks and hooves as it charged and struck. Yet whenever the Sentinel unleashed a fla attack to raise the surrounding temperature, the mammoth would seize the opportunity, gathering just enough energy to fire off another low-level Ice Burst.

The Sentinel’s abdon was punctured in 3 different places, molten lava-like blood glowing through the wounds as it dripped onto the arena floor. Despite that, its ferocity hadn’t diminished in the slightest, constantly looking for a chance to close in and land a decisive punch.

"Sentinel! Do Fla Dance!" Ronan shouted, hurling a fireball toward Marco, who dodged relentlessly while trying to keep his distance—buying ti for the mammoth to finish the Sentinel.

The mont Ronan’s command rang out, the Sentinel stepped back, its feet beginning to glow as heat rapidly built up beneath them.

"GRAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!"

The Sentinel roared as the cooled crust covering its body exploded outward, shards of hardened lava scattering across the arena. What erged was a slightly slimr form, stripped of its natural lava armour. It clenched both fists as flas began spewing violently from them.

It accelerated rapidly, circling the mammoth as torrents of fire poured from its hands. Its speed climbed higher and higher until it looked as if a ring of fire was continuously rotating around the mammoth.

The mammoth, slowed by its massive fra, couldn’t track the Sentinel’s movents at all. It couldn’t even release Ice Burst anymore—it was completely out of mana. And this was precisely what Ronan had been waiting for.

The mixed fire-and-ice environnt was soon overwheld by heat alone as the temperature kept rising. The hotter it beca, the faster the Sentinel moved.

At the center, the air grew so hot that a low-pressure zone ford, sucking in the surrounding atmosphere and creating a slow, swirling hot tornado that enveloped the mammoth.

"No! Mammon! Charge! Get away from that zone!" Marco shouted, his eyes wide with panic.

But that mont of distraction allowed Ronan to close in.

"Sentinel! Use Lava Lance!"

The forming tornado surged upward, condensing and compressing as it rose into the sky, eventually shaping itself into a massive lance of molten force aid directly at the mammoth below.

The mammoth couldn’t escape. The Sentinel was still circling relentlessly, blocking every possible path and making it impossible to move closer to the searing edge of the zone.

The lance suddenly solidified mid-air and crashed down onto the mammoth—at the exact mont Ronan’s sword pierced through Marco’s chest.

"Good fight, for soone inexperienced," Ronan said calmly as Marco vanished from the arena.

Ting!

"What a fight! Let’s give our students a round of applause!"

"For your information, Student Marco cos from a far northern region where living standards are extrely low due to the harsh cold climate. Yet not only did it produce a promising individual, that person also managed to reach Pseudo 3-star entirely on his own—IN EXTRE CONDITIONS! It’s none other than Marco, who, despite being a Beast Master for a long ti, was never granted nobility because there is no established Beast Hall in his city!"

The cheers didn’t stop even after hearing about Marco’s seemingly sad background.

When both contestants were brought back to the room, everyone congratulated them—especially from Aaron, who didn’t bother hiding the fact that he had bet on Ronan.

At last, it was ti for the final secret star to reveal himself.

Miho: Best of Luck!\(@^0^@)/

"Now, finally! We have our last secret star! Let’s welco Leon into the arena!!"

The betting pool opened imdiately.

Leon: 1.9

Uraan Hurricane: 1.5

People clearly believed Uraan had better chances, mainly because it was confird that he possessed a high-ranked bird beast—one far stronger than the beast he had used in his previous matches to maintain his ranking.

Betting Pool

Leon: 678,890,879 AC

Uraan Hurricane: 999,678,563 AC

Once again, the presence of an unknown fighter attracted massive bets in first phase itself.
